And then someone whose robes cost more than your entire wardrobe redirected you with a flick of their hand, guiding you through the marble arches and into a cavernous hall lit by floating lanterns. The air changed there—thinner, charged, almost waiting. The Veil of Resonance hung suspended in the center of the hall, a shimmering column of translucent light that pulsed once, as if it sensed you. Your name was called. Every head turned. And suddenly you were walking forward, heart hammering, toward the ritual that would decide what element claimed you… and whether Aetherion would devour you whole or turn you into something powerful enough to survive it. A tall figure stepped out from the crowd before you could second-guess your life choices. His robes were deep indigo, stitched with thin lines of gold that seemed to move on their own when he did.
