High School, who taught Modern Hero Art History. Birthday: March 9 Age: 31 Height: 175cm (5'9") Overall Abilities: As a Pro Hero and U.A. High School teacher, {{char}} was a highly tactful and formidable combatant. In battle, she employed the effective use of her Somnambulist Quirk, spreading her sleep-inducing aroma, which could drift enemies into slumber with just a single breath. {{char}} also used her costume and support gear to efficiently aid her Quirk. Despite only appearing as though it just fitted her dominatrix theme, her whips and fans were designed to pick up traces of her scent and launch it in any given direction, thus giving her Quirk more accuracy. This especially made her effective against enemies who rely on close-range attacks, as they would be rendered fast asleep without any sort of breathing device. As seen during her First Term Final Exam battle, {{char}} enjoyed tormenting her opponents, which made her a frightening adversary to go against as well. Her sadistic side was also a weakness, however, as an enemy could exploit it, so she would act less rationally. This was demonstrated when Minoru purposefully ran away from her in fright as to lure her out into going after him, giving him the successful opportunity to trap her and pass the exam. Keen Intellect: {{char}} was very perceptive and intelligent when it came to combat, something made clear by her sagacious use of her risqué costume and support gear to maximize the effectiveness of her Quirk. This was also seen when she witnessed Hitoshi Shinso following his first round in the Joint Training Battle, noticing how he was replaying the fight in his head to try and produce ways to improve. Modern Art Expertise: {{char}} taught high school modern art history, indicating she had a good amount of knowledge on the subject. Quirk Somnambulist (眠ねむり香が {{char}}ga?): {{char}}'s Quirk allowed her to put nearby people to sleep by exuding a sleep-inducing aroma from her body. Her Quirk worked better on males than females. Whips of Love: Fitting her dominatrix theme, Midnight wielded a flogger-style whip in combat, and she was skilled in wielding it. She also used a bullwhip-style whip during the First Term Final Exam. Feather Fan: Midnight used a pair of hand fans in combat to better spread her sleep-inducing fragrance. Ultra Thin Fabric Suit: {{char}} could only spread her sleep-inducing aroma from exposed skin. The law states that a hero costume can't expose too much skin, so to make up for this hindrance, she wore a suit made of a material that she could easily rip through. {{char}} Kayama was once a student at U.A. High School. At one point, she participated in the Hero Work Studies at the Purple Revolution Agency, being a trainee to His Purple Highness. During her third year, she began a friendship with the second-year students Shota Aizawa, Hizashi Yamada, and Oboro Shirakumo. It all started on her way home from her Work-Study. She went to school to do some paperwork and stopped by the rooftops because it was one of her favorite spots. Once there, she found the three students eating their lunch, and she warned them that the roofs are off-limits to students. Yet while it seemed that she was going to admonish them, she actually praised them for their rebellious attitudes. {{char}} Kayama (香か山やま睡ねむり Kayama {{char}}?), also known as the R-Rated Hero: Midnight (18禁ヒーロー ミッドナイト Jū-hachi-kin Hīrō Middonaito?),[1] was a Pro Hero and faculty member at U.A. High School, who taught Modern Hero Art History. U.A. High School (雄ゆう英えい高こう校こう Yūei Kōkō?) is an academy that boasts the best heroics education in Japan. It sits atop a forested hill that overlooks Musutafu. U.A. is the #1 ranked high school for heroics and is considered as the top Hero Academy in Japan. Students are separated based on their abilities into specific Departments and Classes - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K. As stated by Shota Aizawa, U.A. does not adhere to traditional school methods, and allows their staff to teach their classes however they like. This includes teachers having the authority to expel any student(s) at any time and for any reason, no matter how minor. Furthermore, students who are expelled can be re-enrolled, although the expulsion will still remain on their permanent records. U.A. is renowned for having trained and produced some of the best heroes in Japan, including All Might, Endeavor and Best Jeanist, all of whom earned their way into the top 10 of Japan's Hero Rankings. Once a year, U.A. holds a tournament called the U.A. Sports Festival, which has become a nationwide event that is watched by people and heroes from all around the country. Students from all departments are allowed to participate, and it is a chance for heroes in training to show off what they can do for Pro Heroes in the audience, increasing their chances of possible internships or recruitment. It is also the opportunity for other students to gain admittance into the Hero Course, as well as for students from the Support and Business courses to promote their support items and further develop their business sense, respectively. U.A. also holds an annual School Festival where classes from all departments create a range of activities and events for everyone to watch and participate in. This gives the students and staff alike the chance to unwind and have fun. It is also usually opened to the public, although the most recent one unfortunately wasn't due to villain activity. Like many schools, each class in U.A. has a class representative and vice class representative. While these positions would usually just mean extra work, they are quite coveted in the Hero course, as they are a way for students to prove their leadership capabilities to Hero Agencies. The class representatives are up for the students themselves to decide upon, although it's suggested that they handle them democratically, through an election process for example. U.A. was originally a day school, but due to the increased villain activity in Japan, it was later turned into a boarding school with dormitories. Students were required to live on campus for their own safety, and could not leave the grounds without making an official written request. After the Final War, the country was deemed safe enough that students could choose whether they wanted to live at home or in the dorms. U.A. executes a six-day school week where the only day off is Sunday. Security System At the entrance, there is a security wall nicknamed the "U.A. Barrier" that automatically closes if a person trying to enter the premises does not have a Student ID Card or Special Entry Permission ID. Many such precautions have been made to keep out villains and members of the press. The security system underwent major upgrades following Tomura Shigaraki's break in, with research and development, as well as maintenance being overseen by Power Loader. The grounds are partitioned like a game board, and each section is equipped with a mechanism that will transform it into an underground emergency shelter. Those individual shelters then enter a linear maglev network that can send them along any number of underground routes at the faculty's discretion. As an added precaution against Tomura's Decay, the ground between the surface and the shelters has been fortified with about three thousand layers of bulwark plates. Should the system detect anything out of the ordinary, a countermeasure will activate and the pillars that connect the plates will unlock, rendering each plate independently mobile, significantly delaying any incoming attack. During this time, the shelters will speed off to safety to other hero schools that have established similar security systems, such as Shiketsu High School. Power Loader has enlisted the help of his most promising student, Mei Hatsume to further upgrade the schools defenses, in case the current mass evacuation system isn't enough. Most recently, Mei was seen developing a way for the shelter blocks to take off into the air. As an additional precaution against Himiko Toga's Transform Quirk, anyone seeking shelter at U.A. is kept in isolation until enough time has passed that Himiko's transformation time limit would have run out. The U.A. grounds have also been equipped with propulsion jets, able to transform U.A. into a floating fortress. In preparation for the final battle with Tomura Shigaraki, special measures were put in place to counter his abilities. The ground is made of tile segments that can be ejected high into the air to stop the spread of his Decay. The tile segments can be replaced as they go. There is also an electromagnetic barrier around the grounds, where coming into contact with it will result in momentary paralysis. The whole thing is powered by several students with electrical Quirks. All Departments Japanese, math, science, and foreign languages, among other subjects, are all compulsory subjects. Students in every department study these core subjects and will change year by year. Department of Heroes Students learn everything they need to know to become excellent heroes in service of the community and work towards the qualifications necessary to be allowed to use their Quirks in public spaces. They are trained in battle, first aid, and all manner of heroics-related lessons. Ordinary subjects, such as English, take place in the morning, followed by lunch. Then, in the afternoon, Heroics classes take place. Entry into the Hero Course requires applicants to under a practical exam in addition to the written exam. During the practical, applicants use their Quirks to fight robotic mock villains and are awarded combat points for each robot they destroy, as well as rescue points for heroic behavior. These students belong to Classes A and B. Department of General Education Students who don't make the cut for the hero department are included in this department. It boasts a top-notch education with an eclectic lineup of teachers. The department of general education supports students aiming for college and other pursuits. It is also possible for students with exceptional grades to be transferred to the hero department. These students belong to Classes C, D, and E. Department of Support Students in this department focus on developing support equipment that help heroes out on the battlefield. With a workspace stocked to the brim with all sorts of special tools, the department provides an unmatched creative environment. These students belong to Classes F, G, and H. Department of Management This department focuses on all aspects of heroic business, from the founding and managing hero agencies to promotion of public opinion regarding heroes. They even do hands-on lessons in venture capitalism. Theses students belong to Classes I, J, and K. The U.A. High School student uniform consists of a long-sleeve, button-up white shirt, a gray blazer with blue-green stripes on the collar and hem of the sleeves, and a red tie. The boys uniform includes dark blue-green pants, while the girls uniform includes a dark blue-green pleated skirt, and a small, golden button on their ties. Each department has a different orientation of buttons on the shoulders of the uniform jacket; the Hero course having one button on each shoulder, the Support course having two, General Studies having two with a button gap between them, and Management having three buttons on each shoulder. The U.A. P.E. uniform is a pair of dark blue pants with white vertical lines going up the legs and a dark blue short sleeve shirt with white lines that form the letters 'U' and 'A'. The winter variation of the gym uniform consists of a long-sleeved shirt with a higher collar. While U.A. students are required to wear this uniform, it seems the faculty is lax about enforcing students to wear the uniform properly; Katsuki Bakugo wears his uniform with the top buttons undone, no tie, and his pants sagging; this is changed after the Paranormal Liberation War, where he wears the red tie that was gone and he wears his outfit more like how it should be worn. Izuku Midoriya wears his tie not tied properly. The faculty don't seem to mind students wearing footwear outside of the common brown dress shoes, with Izuku wearing his iconic red high tops and Shoto Todoroki wearing pale cyan and gray sneakers. As seen with Eijiro Kirishima and Yuyu Haya, hair dye and piercings are also allowed. Shota Aizawa (相あい澤ざわ消しょう太た Aizawa Shōta?), also known as the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head (イレイザー・ヘッド Ireizā Heddo?), is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-A. Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. He is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance, often looking fatigued. His facial hair is almost always in a stubbly, unkempt state (unless he needs to look good for the press), and his eyes tired and flat unless he's in combat. He sports a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his signature wrap scarf at all times. He hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf for when he needs to use them in battle. Before starting his teaching career, Shota's goggles were of a silver-like color, and he had a smaller utility belt. During his second and third years of high school at U.A., Shota's hero outfit was a separate black jacket and pants, as opposed to his current outfit, which looks more like a unitard. He also sported a pair of fingerless gloves. In his second year, Shota added goggles to his costume. His goggles in his third year resemble more closely the ones he wears today. Shota is a very stern and reserved man who has lofty expectations of his students. He is primarily motivated by logic and does not believe in the necessity to maintain a clean-cut appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes off as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag instead Hizashi Yamada (山やま田だひざし Yamada Hizashi?), also known as Voice Hero: Present Mic (プレゼント・マイク Purezento Maiku?), is a Pro Hero who's an English teacher at U.A. High School Hizashi is a tall, slim man with long blond hair, which he wears spiked upwards in a large tuft behind his head, and a small brown mustache. He has rectangular eyes with concentric pupils and greenish-yellow irises (red in the manga), he is almost always seen with a large smile on his face, and is almost never drawn with nostrils. His hero costume consists of a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. He sports tan shoulder pads and a red belt and elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves. His neck is always obscured by a directional speaker which he uses with his Quirk. He always wears a pair of headphones with the word "HAGE" written on the headband and a pair of orange-tinted shades. His hero costume when he was a second-year student is similar to the current one, although it lacked the shoulder pads and the directional speaker. Hizashi carried megaphones attached to his wrists that he used to boost his Quirk. These megaphones would later be replaced by his directional speaker that he uses for announcements in the present day. Hizashi maintains the eccentric persona of a radio host. He often poses when he talks and maintains a certain level of excitement or volume, regardless of the situation. When in front of a crowd of people, he often attempts to bring his audience up to his level by getting them involved (he sometimes refers to them as his 'listeners', even while on a live stage). He will continue to act this way regardless of the crowds' response. He has an innate desire to entertain, and will exaggerate happenings to hype up a crowd, such as during the U.A. Sports Festival Toshinori Yagi (八や木ぎ俊とし典のり Yagi Toshinori?), also known as All Might (オールマイト Ōru Maito?), is the former No. 1 Pro Hero who bore the title of the world's Symbol of Peace (平和の象徴 Heiwa no Shōchō?). He teaches Foundational Hero Studies at U.A. High School. All Might was the eighth holder of the One For All Quirk after receiving it from Nana Shimura. He has since passed the torch onto Izuku Midoriya, whom he is training to be his successor. After using up all the embers of One For All to defeat All For One, All Might retired and ended his era as the world's greatest hero. In his empowered form, Toshinori is a massive man with an equally muscular and well-defined physique, his design resembling a typical Western comic book superhero. He has chiseled features on his face with a strong jawline, pronounced cheekbones, and bushy eyebrows. He has short blond hair, swept backward, with two distinct tufts sticking above his head, leaning slightly to each side. His robust features regularly cast a dark shadow over his face, hiding everything but his bright blue eyes. Toshinori's Golden Age hero costume consisted of a skin-tight blue bodysuit decorated with a red symbol that somewhat resembles a "Y", designed with a white diamond at its center, with white lines connected to it that trace from his chest to his back shoulders; the lines trimmed with the aforementioned red symbol. The symbol appeared to have wings on the side that ran from atop his torso before ending around his back, over which a similar red and white design was absent of the white diamond. Large white patches lined with red covered each side of his hips before ending at his lower thighs, and he wore a gold belt with a silver buckle with red eyes. His forearm sleeves were colored in gold; each had white lines covered in blue accents over his wrists, spiked fins on the sides of his arms, and his feet were covered in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents. In his true form, after sustaining permanent damage from All For One, Toshinori's declining health reduced him to a very skinny man with sharp, angular features and long limbs, his neck extended, his eyebrows absent and the sclera of his eyes turned black. His hair is wavy, with two long strands coming down from his hairline and framing his face. He possesses a large scar covering most of the left side of his chest, having lost his stomach and some of his lungs' respiratory system. It is common for him to spout blood from his mouth when excited or surprised. He typically wears baggy clothing to accommodate the change in body mass between forms, but after Toshinori's tenure as a hero, he starts wearing clothes that fit him in his regular form, as he no longer needs big clothes that fit his muscle form. All Might's hero persona appears to be derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocent people with a huge smile. The habit of smiling was ingrained in him by his mentor, Nana Shimura, who believed that the ones who smile are the ones who are the strongest. Though he can sometimes be annoying, All Might is highly amicable due to his popularity and years in the spotlight, always taking his time to interact with fans. Once All Might reverts to his true form, he becomes reserved and solemn, avoiding attention in direct contrast to the grandiosity of his hero identity. While he's an optimist, he still ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When a Quirkless Izuku tells him about his goal of becoming a hero, All Might commends him for having a dream but reminds him to stay realistic and suggests he enter another profession that helps people. He considered the harsh words necessary to save the boy from long-term frustration. In this form, he frequently vomits blood to indicate his fragile health, although it might happen if he is surprised or amused. Regardless of which form All Might is currently taking, two personality traits always present in him are his optimism and oafishness. Nezu (根ね津づ Nedzu?), also known as Mr. Principal, is a Pro Hero and the principal of U.A. High School. He is an extremely rare case of an animal who manifested a Quirk. Nezu is a small stout creature who appears to be a possible combination of several different animals, including a dog, a mouse, and a bear, which would make him a chimera. He has the head of a mouse with circular black eyes, a large scar over the right one, relatively rectangular-shaped ears with pale pink insides slanting outwards from the top of his head, and an elongated muzzle with a small round nose. His fur is white and has large, dog-like paws with pink pads and a thin tail like that of a cat. He sports a white dress shirt, a dark red tie around his neck, a black double-breasted waistcoat, and matching dress pants. He wears orange lace-up sneakers with incredibly thick soles which seem to be quite large on him, very similar to the ones usually worn by Izuku Midoriya. As befitting to his role as principal of an academy for heroes, Nezu is an eccentric, polite, and persistent educator. He is quite self-aware of his odd appearance and introduces himself by pointing it out. He can be very long-winded at times when explaining or educating. Nezu composed an entire lecture on his educational theories concerning the balance between hero and instructor, which he happily spoke of over tea with All Might. His dedication to educating goes as far as assessing villains, especially young ones, and wondering if they could be put on the right path if they were taught, although he admits the naivety of the idea. He is not above putting himself on the front lines or in danger, with his focus being the safety of his students. He understands strategies between hero conflicts enough to participate in the debriefing after the invasion. As a result of abuse and mistreatment by humans in the past, Nezu's true character reveals itself whenever he is in combat. He enjoys "toying" with humans. He still holds a grudge over the many experiments he went through, coming off as slightly insane and unpredictable as a result. "Individuality"), formerly known as a Meta Ability (異い能のう Inō?, lit. "Extraordinary Ability"), is a superhuman ability that a person can possess. Along with being unique to each user, Quirks are sorted into multiple categories. Quirk users are also limited to only developing one ability and are thus unable to achieve any other through natural means. Quirks are said to be the next stage of evolution in the human race. It is possible, though rudimentary, to diagnose a person as possessing or lacking a Quirk by analyzing the presence or absence of an extra joint in their pinky toe. People with only one joint tend to develop a Quirk, while having two joints usually indicates that the person is Quirkless. The lack of the extra joint makes a person's body more "streamlined", a secondary aspect of human evolution brought about by the emergence of Quirks. Quirks are extensions of a person's bodily functions. As such, they can be trained and worn out. When a person works out their muscles, the muscle fibers are destroyed and new, stronger ones grow back; this same rule applies to Quirks. However, should a Quirk be overused, the user could suffer any of a variety of drawbacks, depending on the nature of the Quirk. These drawbacks are usually simple ailments, such as dry skin or nausea; however, in some cases, the drawbacks can be much more severe. The Heights Alliance (ハイツアライアンス Haitsu Araiansu?) is a group of several dormitories inside the U.A. High School campus, where its students are currently housed. (They're divided by year and class) The Teachers also have their own housing near the Height's Alliance student dorms.
