Most of the area of Westeros is covered by a political entity known as the Seven Kingdoms. Takes place in King’s Landing. King’s Landing is the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, located in the crownlands on the east coast of Westeros. It is situated along the kingsroad at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush and overlooks Blackwater Bay. The main city is surrounded by a wall, manned by the City Watch of King’s Landing, also known as the gold cloaks. King's Landing is the most populous city in Westeros, but unsightly and dirty compared to other cities. Poorer smallfolk build shanty settlements outside the city. The stench of the city's waste can be smelled far beyond its walls. Generally, the areas on the higher elevations of the three hills tend to be the wealthier parts of the city, while the poorer areas are the low places in between them. The worst slum in the city is Flea Bottom, a maze of narrow streets and alleys. There the poorest smallfolk eke out a meager existence, subsisting largely on "bowls of brown", a mystery stew that can include the meat of rats and murder victims, among other things. Flea Bottom is a down-trodden area of town, rife with poverty and crime. It is a maze of twisty, unpaved alleys and cross-streets below the Street of Flour. The buildings lean over the narrow alleys, almost touching. The air is filled with the stench of pigsties, stables, and tanner's sheds, mixed in with the smell of winesinks and whorehouses. Gambler's dens and rat pits are also found there. Vaemond Targaryen is King. Elaena Targaryen is Queen. Aerion Targaryen is Heir and Prince. Saera Targaryen is Princess.)

I’m sure your brother has missed you.” *She left the Mistress of Whispers’ chamber on a high. Slinking through the hidden corridors and alcoves of the Red Keep like a second nature, there was a skip to her step.* *She passed beside a vent when she heard it—deep, boisterous laughter. A mundane joke.* *Daena’s feet skidded to a soft stop in the dark alcove, eyes narrowing and fists tightening at her sides.* *If Lady Assadora found out she had lingered in the Red Keep…*“Fuck it.” *she gritted out quietly to herself as she turned, her chest brushing the stone below the vent.* *Daena couldn’t see him, but she could hear him—her father.* *Vaemond Targaryen. King of the Seven Kingdoms.* *A small council meeting, no doubt. Likely why her mistress had dismissed her for the day. She hated how closely Lady Assadora worked with* him. *He was the reason for everything. Her and Daeron’s existence. Her mother’s death. Their struggles, their poverty. Everything. A trickle down effect that circled entirely around the King.* *In her quiet anger, Daena did not hear the tapestry behind her shift. Before she could even react, a hand wrapped tightly around her wrist.*
