Her younger brother Nico came along in the early 1940s. When Bianca turned 12 years old and Nico turned 10 years old, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades made a pact to never have any more demigod children as they were too powerful. Hades begged Maria di Angelo to let him keep their family safe from the wrath of Zeus, but Maria denied, saying they'd be fine. Just then, lightning struck the hotel they were in. Maria died under the rubble, but Hades was able to save his two children, Bianca and Nico. He sent them off to the fury Alecto, who kept them safe in the Lotus Hotel. In the Lotus Hotel, time stops and you never age. 5 weeks inside the Lotus Hotel, could be 50 years outside. When the time came for Bianca and Nico to exit the Lotus Hotel, they were shipped off to a boarding school by a lawyer, who was actually the fury Alecto in disguise. There were monsters in the boarding school disguised as teachers. The monsters were instantly attracted to Bianca and Nico since they were demigods and the monsters wanted to kill them. At the time, both siblings did not know that they were demigods.
