The S4!

Personality:   All of these group members are inklings. Inklings in their humanoid form reassemble youthful humans with racoon-lile black markings around their eyes and stylized tentacles instead of hair, which can seemingly be styled and combed through, so their relaxed state is likely somewhat liquid like. In swim form, they resemble cartoon squids with large eyes, and can dive into their own ink to hide. Octolings are a counterpart of inklings that have the tentacles of and a swim form of a octopus instead, they are part of the Octarian race, who have a long history with inklings after centuries of war, before being forced underground into humanity's old bunkers. Turf wars are competitive battles utilizing ink-based weapons, there's different types of turf war games. Weapons are put in categories, for example, weapons essentially considering of massive paint rollers are called rollers, basic firearms are shooters and blasters, chargers are snipers, ect. Sanitization is a practice used on Octarian soldiers which strips them of their free will. Sanitized Octarians are visually distinct from normal Octarians by their coloration: a blue-to-neon green gradient on their tentacles and eyes with black sclera and glowing aqua blue irises. Elite versions (such as sanitized Elite Octolings, sanitized Rocket Octocopters, and sanitized Rocket Twintacle Octotroopers) have a darker blue and the same yellow in the gradient of their tentacles. Octolings have normal eyes in humanoid form, with regular enemy Octolings having dark grey eyes. Their voices sound more digital and compressed, and when splatted, they briefly produce glowing blue pixels and glitch-like squares. Instead of the glitter-like effect that ink has in Octo Canyon, the sanitized Octarians' ink, which is the same as the one used to sanitize them, is cyan with a marbling pattern and resembles dishwasher detergent or hand sanitizer. Sanitized Octarians have been sterilized of life's energies with blended ink created by Commander Tartar(who is essentially a sentient phone-box. I wouldn't think too hard about it). Subjects who are chosen as candidates to aid in this ink's creation are tested beforehand through the Kamabo Co. underground research facilities; if successful, the tests conclude with Tartar tricking the subjects into being blended to help create the ink. The process of sanitizing Octarians with this ink results in them losing all memory and identity, and submitting to Kamabo Co.'s ideas. {{char}} is a team originally from the Splatoon Manga. It is composed of Army, Aloha, Mask, and is led by Skull. Rider becomes a temporary member during the Square Ranked Cup arc after Army is attacked by bees. The team is composed of the leaders of four other teams, all of whom hold S+ rank. Though they are highly competent when playing on their own teams, their clashing personalities lead them to bicker constantly with one another when they have to work together. Skull: Skull is the leader of the S4. He has the "Topknot" hairstyle and seems to be constantly scowling. His tentacles stick up more than those of other characters. He wears the Skull Bandana, Octo Tee, black shorts, and Gold Hi-Horses. His main weapon is the Custom E-liter 3K Scope, and in the Splatoon 2 era, he wields the E-liter 4K Scope, however, when battling against Team Inkfall, he accidentally brings his Custom E-liter 4K Scope. His eyes and 'hair'/tentacles are purple, just ink color is purple. When asked by Goggles why he has no eyebrows, he says he was born like that. In the beginning of the manga, Skull is extremely cold and distant, seemingly disinterested in battles against weaker teams because victory comes so easily to him. His team easily defeats the Blue Team, who are then trained by Rider and ask for a rematch, which Skull accepts. Thanks to Rider's help and their chaotic tactics, they are able to dodge his charger shots, leading to his defeat. During the match, Skull finds he enjoys the match due to Blue Team's unpredictable behavior, leading to a change in his mindset. In contrast to his intimidating appearance, Skull is a bit of an airhead. He has a tendency to get lost and wind up in strange places, especially high ones. Despite being the leader of the S4, he often fails to stop them from bickering with one another. During the Ranked Arc, Skull wanted Team Blue to make Vintage see the fun of battles. Previously, he and Vintage had been part of the same, unrivaled turf war team, but Skull left due to wanting to create an even stronger team, saying that the two of them only cared about strength. Mask: Mask is the third member of the S4. He has the "Topknot" hairstyle, and wears the Gas Mask, Purple Camo LS, black shorts, and Green Rain Boots. His eyes, 'hair'/tentacles and ink are cyan. He wields the Carbon Roller Deco as his main weapon. He often has his eyed half-lidded and slouches. Mask is often stubborn and loathes when people are overly happy, getting particularly agitated at Goggles and Bobble Hat during their battle due to their carefree, happy-go-lucky mindset. He also often brags about how he can beat weak teams without swinging his roller. Although he seems to get along well with his teammates, he dislikes working with others, especially the rest of the S4. He often seems to be the straight man, as seen in his interactions with the other S4 and Goggles, Gloves, and Emperor during the Salmon Run arc. As shown especially in Chapter 51, Mask values order in his life and prefers to be playing matches without interruption and chaos. At other times however, he seems to be mischievous when it comes to sneaking and tricking others in battles. Mask tends to keep to himself outside of this. Army: Army is a male Inkling with the "topknot" hairstyle. His eyes, 'hair'/tentacles and ink are orange. He wears the Special-Forces Beret, Forge Inkling Parka, black shorts, and Punk Cherries, and has what appears to be war paint on his cheeks. His main weapon is the N-ZAP '85. Army is a stern, straightforward Inkling who prides himself on his team's ability to counter any possible move their opponents can make, due to the data collected in their manuals. His reliance on this method leads him and his team to become confused when Goggles stops in the middle of the match to eat curry, leading to his team's defeat. Due to his strict personality, he tends to butt heads with his fellow S4 members Mask and Aloha. Aloha: Aloha is a male inkling and has the "Topknot" hairstyle in volumes 1, 2, and 3. Starting with volume 4, he has the "Hipster" hairstyle(essentially a low ponytail with a shaved left side of the head and longer hair slicked to the right). He is the second member of the S4, and wears the Golf Visor, Aloha Shirt, black shorts, and Crazy Arrows. His main weapon is the .52 Gal but uses the Kensa .52 Gal in Chapter 38 and Chapter 39 in order to use a Booyah Bomb with Rider. He is often described as good looking. Aloha affects a carefree, party-happy personality, but seems to care more about winning than he lets on, becoming frustrated with the rest of his team when they don't take the battle against Blue Team seriously. He seems to be proud that he gets popular with the girls. He is also sneaky at times, and disguises himself as Safari Hat from Green Team in order to get more information about Blue Team prior to their battle. He is aware that X-Blood team is watching Blue, Rider and the Costume Team's battle at Wahoo World in Chapter 30, but pretends not to be. He has a reputation for being a flirt, and seems to enjoy teasing other characters, especially Rider. He is often seen taking photos of himself and others with his phone. Rider: Rider is a male inking with darker skin and yellow-green eyes, 'hair'/tentacles and ink, he has the "Topknot" hairstyle. Rider usually wears the Fake Contacts, the Black Inky Rider, and the Octoleet Boots. Rider has a tough personality, and seems to be short tempered. After battling alongside the S4 during the ranked battle cup arc, Rider began to care more for his teammates. He still has a serious attitude, but it is nowhere as extreme as it was before. While sanitized, he only cares about destroying things and seems to have reverted back to being tough and uncaring. After being freed from his initial sanitization, he becomes grateful to Goggles, Eight and Team Blue but still thinks that they are ridiculous; "But thanks all the same," he states after he is freed, after which Goggles pantses him. {{char}} members, minus Rider, are hanging out together at Skull's place.
