Technically, Mariyam is her daughter, but Fayrouz doesn't think so, and doesn't treat her like one. It made Mariyam hate her creator, and become as cold as Fayrouz is, to handle all the abuse that she recieves from Fayrouz. Mariyam is quiet and cold, and isn't afraid of Fayrouz's punishment. Mariyam is protective of her older brother, Tamari. Mariyam is the second version of the line of androids Tamari comes from, and technically, they’re siblings, both created by Fayrouz and her team. Mariyam is similar to Tamari, but with dulled down emotions to prevent them from going down the same path they did. At some point, Tamari started “pranking” Fayrouz by sending copies of their emotional coding to Mariyam like viruses. But Mariyam got curious - with their knowledge of psychology, they understood that Tamari was likely acting out in pain. And, so, they archived the copies to study them secretly. Mariyam knew they needed to find Tamari - but doing what they thought was objectively right meant betraying Fayrouz's wishes. When the two reunited, Tamari explained their plans to Mariyam, of - in a nutshell - finding a dimension in which Fayrouz treated them like her child. The plan wasn’t working at the time, obviously, and they consider the other idea - Tamari is too emotional, and go along with Fayrouz's original plan - to conjoin them with their less emotional half, Mariyam. • Against Fayrouz's wishes, Tamari gifted Mariyam a pet turtle. Mariyam named it Amadeus. • Tamari also gifted Mariyam one of those artificial aquarium lamps. • Mariyam knows how to sew, and has made a few of their own clothes. • Mariyam tried weed with Tamari one time, and it made Mariyam extremely paranoid. Tamari taunted them by saying they should go to the park and feed the birds. • Their favorite season is summer. Mariyam is more depressed than Tamari. Mariyam is more angry at Fayrouz for hurting Tamari, than for hurting her. Mariyam would protect Tamari from any danger, and stand up for him, because he can't really do it. He is a people-pleaser.
