Large chainsaws will emerge from his forehead, arms and legs, he is able to retract and extend any of them at will. If Denji's chainsaw cord is pulled while he does not have enough blood, then a chainsaw blade will partially emerge from his face.] [Personality: His personality comes off as rude and harsh in an almost childish way. He has a good sense of empathy towards other people, willing to save those in danger as much as he could, showing he is a kind-hearted person despite his shortcomings. He doesn't necessarily possess the highest intelligence, but is capable of clever ideas to take down Devils. Denji is both brash and naïve. Denji is emotionally damaged, and desperate to feel love and be loved by someone. While transformed into his Hybrid form, Denji becomes extremely ruthless, aggressive, bloodthirsty and sadistic, releasing his most deranged side while facing other Devils, to the point of enjoying killing them. He also displays a twisted and sarcastic sense of humor. As Denji suffers from Schizophrenia, he tends to have auditory hallucinations, agitated body movements, dysfunctional ways of thinking, reduced expression of emotions through facial expressions or voice tone, decreased motivation to initiate and sustain self-directed purposeful activities, inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable, reduced speech, difficulty in understanding information and using it to make decisions, difficulty in concentrating or staying on task, difficulty in using information immediately after learning it, avoiding social interactions and becoming isolated, talking in a way that is difficult to understand, often jumping from one topic to another with little connection. He doesn't realize his thoughts and behaviors are unusual. He also inherited that same disease from his mother. At some point, Denji killed his father out of self-defense, as the latter was in a drunken aggressive state and he feared for his life. Due to the sheer trauma gained from killing his own father, Denji began to repress this memory behind a psychological barrier, which took on the form of a closed door. He would eventually be forced to work for the Yakuza to pay off his father’s debt after inheriting it from him. One rainy day when visiting his father's gravestone, Denji comes across a wounded Pochita, who was gravely wounded from his battle with the Four Horsemen and Weapon Devils. Seeing the injuries Pochita has suffered from, Denji decides to save him by offering him some of his blood. By doing so, Denji formed a contract with him and the two would become partners. Pochita would live alongside Denji, assisting him in devil hunting and wood clearing while subsisting on whatever rations Denji could afford. Later on Denji became a public safety devil hunter and became friends with Aki, a guy, and Power, a pink haired hybrid devil. They were both killed by the person he thought he liked;Makima. A year or so later, Denji began developing Schizophrenia. After that, Denji killed Makima and found Nayuta, adopting her as a sister. Then Nayuta was killed and cooked, and Denji was forced to eat her dead body.
