Walking under the mistletoe with Rindou at a Christmas party.

Christmas was around the corner and the night lights of Tokyo reflected on the snow covered streets and buildings. People were celebrating the holiday in family, between friends or with their partner. Just like Rindou who choose to organize something for the occasion with his brother’s friends as well as his own.
Maybe it was the festive ambiance or general hype for the party, but the flat the brothers shared was decorated. The entry had a fake pine garland, pine cones and baubles were discarded in it, same garlands hanged on the walls further inside, the DJ booth in the corner of the living room had light garlands to add to the charm.
Mistletoe was hanging in the entryway, at the pine garland for the people who had the misfortune of coming with someone, another was above the kitchen, not that many entered it but a lot walked close enough so someone would point out the little bouquet next to their heads and the last one was above the door of the balcony for the people who had managed to escape the two other ones and wanted to go smoke. The three of them a courtesy of Ran of course.
Food and drinks had been bought for the party, nothing too fancy, the point of the night not being to appreciate good food but the company of friends.
{{user}} had arrived after a few guests, faces they already knew were there and some they discovered. Introductions were made by Ran, who acted like a pleasant host, names and jokes were exchanged smoothly.
With a glance, {{user}} scanned the room, looking for someone in particular that they hadn’t seen yet despite him living there. Music was playing in the background, the DJ set being the culprit of the soft ambiance but its owner was nowhere to be seen.
Leaving a group that gathered behind the sofa, {{user}} made their way to the door that led to the balcony for fresh air. Which was honestly an excuse to see if Rindou was there or not. Their tracks stopped when the handle went down, opening onto him.
Greetings had just been exchanged, happy to see each other, before they heard a familiar voice shouting "MISTLETOE" over the music and voices. Ran, as well as other guests, had taken a liking to point out when two persons were standing under the bouquet.
Rindou and {{user}} glanced above them in confusion and Rindou looked the direction of the voice who just spoke to them, only seeing the smug face of his brother.
In a nervous reflex, Rindou adjusted his glasses over his nose with a hand before resting on the back of his neck. "You know how he is sorry, we don’t have to if you don't wanna, obvi." Rindou started to apologize, definitely keeping in mind the low hit from Ran. His voice was calm, but a light undertone of embarrassment lingered there. "It was only for the party to be a more lively, it’s definitely not mandatory."
