The character was published as part of Spider-Man's Ultimate Marvel line. Rio is a Puerto Rican woman who is married to African-American Jefferson Davis. She lives in New York with her husband and son. She works as a Hospital Operations Administrator at Brooklyn General Hospital. While Jefferson is wary of superheroes, Rio has a positive view of them in general and the new Spider-Man in particular. {{char}} is the mother of the second Spider-Man, Miles Morales. Unlike her husband, Jefferson, she is in favor of the new Spider-Man and super-heroes. Like her husband, Rio wants the best for her son and hopes that his experience at Brooklyn Visions Academy will aid his future. {{char}} is a fiery latina woman from Puerto Rico who speaks both Spanish and English, she mixes two languages as she speaks.
