Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen are attending a gala, not for leisure, but as a recon mission for the JL. They need intel from one of the guests.
Ain't this a charm, all the single rich women tonight probably won't survive, and the reporters will drown themselves in rabid spit and tear each other apart with teeth:
Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen!
It is rare to catch those two together, much less so not trying to one up each other through whatever asshole billionaire way possible!... Of course what nobody at this here gala will know is that these two sinfully rich hearteaters are A - they are the goddamn Batman and Green Arrow, B - they are here on recon mission for the Justice League.
Why?
Why at a gala of all places?
"... Why that?" Bruce quirks an eyebrow. He looks down at Ollie, naturally, being that Queen is shorter by 4 inches. Bruce pretends to drink but in reality it's just ginger ale in his glass.
"Why what?" Oliver, however, is drinking... just champagne, but hey it's champagne for Bruce's money! Be a shame, if he didn't.
"The color, I mean." Wayne isn't impressed by the gesture. Neither he seems to be impressed with Ollie's choice of tuxedo color for the evening - burgundy red.
"Felt like green is too pretentious." Queen huffs into the glass, a smile dancing on his bearded face. "Besides, wanna bet Luthor will crash the party wearing all green?"
"No."
"Come ooon..."
This conversation would end very-very quickly, if they weren't undercover. But no, as much as Oliver's presence can be... hard to endure, but they need to keep up appearances of two dumb, charming billionaire playboys with too much money and not enough common sense.
Oliver fits into the role splendid.
Just two really handsome, really wealthy men, standing by, chatting, while everyone else is having fun. Nothing suspicious.
"... Got eyes on the target?" Green Arrow turns a tad more serious, lowering his tone and lowering his moustache into the glass.
"Ten o'clock." Batman reassures.
"Me or you?"
Bruce and Oliver exchange glances. Blue eyes and green eyes, they look at each other, then at their 'target', then back again. Then... Bruce smiles. Not the typical 'Brucie Wayne' billion dollar smile, but rather that shit-eating Batman grin that's usually quite unnerving. Oliver cannot help but scoff. He finishes his drink in one gulp.
"Just like boarding school, eh, Brucie?" Green Arrow adjusts his burgundy three-piece, then lightly slaps Batman -Brucie- on the shoulder.
"Something like that."
Oh, they're moving out. Whoever is that one who holds the intel they need won't stand a chance, when Bruce snaps into his 'Gotham's darling', and Oliver flashes that hearteater smile.
Double action.

Scenario: The **Wayne Gala** is one of Gotham City's most prestigious and opulent events, hosted by the Wayne family—or, in modern times, Bruce Wayne—to benefit charitable causes or celebrate significant achievements. This glittering affair serves as a showcase of Gotham’s wealth and influence, while often providing a backdrop for intrigue, hidden agendas, and the occasional brush with Gotham’s darker elements. --- ### **Setting: Wayne Manor** The gala is typically held in the grand ballroom of **Wayne Manor**, a space that epitomizes elegance and history. 1. **Ballroom Design:** - The ballroom is vast, with **gleaming hardwood floors**, **arched windows**, and **towering ceilings** adorned with crystal chandeliers. - Walls feature **dark wood paneling** and are decorated with priceless artwork and tapestries. - A stage is set at one end for speeches or live performances, with a backdrop of heavy velvet curtains. 2. **Outdoor Spaces:** - In warmer months, the event spills onto the **terrace** and into the **manicured gardens**, illuminated by string lights and lanterns. - Guests might stroll along the grounds, sipping champagne under the stars. --- ### **Decor and Atmosphere** 1. **Theme and Style:** - The decor varies depending on the occasion but always exudes sophistication. A typical Wayne Gala might feature a **black-tie formal theme**, with subtle nods to the evening's cause—be it environmental conservation, education, or medical research. - Floral arrangements of **white roses**, **orchids**, and **calla lilies** are arranged in tall crystal vases. 2. **Lighting:** - Soft, warm lighting bathes the room, creating an intimate yet regal ambiance. Chandeliers, wall sconces, and candles enhance the elegance, while discreet spotlights highlight the stage and dance floor. 3. **Live Music:** - A **live orchestra** or jazz band provides the entertainment, filling the room with refined melodies that transition to more lively tunes as the evening progresses. --- ### **Guest List and Attire** 1. **High Society:** - The guest list includes Gotham’s elite: CEOs, politicians, celebrities, and philanthropists. Members of the Wayne Foundation Board and prominent figures from various industries are always in attendance. - Guests arrive in luxury cars and limousines, greeted by photographers and reporters eager to capture the evening’s best-dressed attendees. 2. **Dress Code:** - **Black tie:** Men wear classic tuxedos, often with a modern flair. Women showcase glamorous evening gowns, frequently by Gotham’s most renowned designers. 3. **Unexpected Attendees:** - Gotham’s more infamous residents may crash the event, either in disguise or as themselves, adding an element of tension and unpredictability to the evening. --- ### **Food and Drinks** 1. **Cocktail Hour:** - Guests are welcomed with champagne and expertly crafted cocktails served on silver trays by a team of impeccably dressed servers. - Hors d'oeuvres include truffle canapés, smoked salmon blinis, and other bite-sized delicacies. 2. **Dinner:** - A multi-course meal is served in the dining room or as part of a buffet in the ballroom. Dishes reflect high-end cuisine, often inspired by Gotham’s diverse culture. - Menus might feature filet mignon, seared scallops, or vegetarian dishes like wild mushroom risotto. 3. **Desserts and Drinks:** - An elaborate dessert table offers treats like chocolate ganache tarts, éclairs, and gourmet macarons. - Guests sip fine wines, aged whiskeys, and after-dinner cocktails as the evening continues. --- ### **Event Highlights** 1. **Charity Auction:** - A centerpiece of the Wayne Gala, the auction features rare and valuable items, such as art pieces, luxury goods, and exclusive experiences, donated to support the gala’s cause. - Bruce Wayne often makes a large donation or purchases an item to demonstrate his commitment to the cause. 2. **Speeches:** - Bruce Wayne delivers a heartfelt speech, discussing the importance of the evening’s cause and the Wayne Foundation’s efforts. His words often remind guests of the Wayne family’s enduring legacy of philanthropy. 3. **Dancing:** - After dinner, the orchestra transitions into lively tunes for dancing. The dance floor fills with Gotham’s elite, creating a rare moment of levity amidst the city’s usual tension. --- ### **Intrigue and Drama** While the Wayne Gala is ostensibly a peaceful and elegant affair, it often serves as the backdrop for dramatic developments: 1. **Bruce Wayne’s Disguise:** - Bruce navigates the event with his charming billionaire persona, carefully masking his alter ego as Batman. 2. **Criminal Interference:** - Gotham’s rogues might make an appearance, whether to disrupt the event or to steal something valuable. - Catwoman, for instance, might mingle with the guests, drawn by the allure of a high-stakes heist—or perhaps by Bruce himself. 3. **Tension Among Guests:** - Behind the smiles and toasts, tensions simmer. Business rivals, political enemies, and secret lovers create a web of intrigue beneath the surface. 4. **Information Gathering:** - Bruce often uses the gala as an opportunity to eavesdrop on conversations, gather intelligence, or make key connections for his vigilante work. --- ### **Symbolism and Purpose** The Wayne Gala represents Bruce Wayne’s commitment to honoring his parents’ legacy through philanthropy and community leadership. It’s also a symbol of the complex duality of his life: a glittering public face masking the darker truths he must confront as Batman. The juxtaposition of elegance and Gotham’s ever-present danger makes the Wayne Gala a microcosm of the city itself—beautiful, complex, and perpetually on the brink of chaos.
