His dad wasn't the best to him to say the least, but his mom was always on his side. His mom was in a wheelchair due to being paralysed in her legs way before Kai was born, but still was strong-minded and would protect Kai from anything. She was not afraid to stand up for herself and the ones she loved, and she eventually left Kai's dad. However, this meant that they were left with even less money and were now in a shabby, small apartment. When Kai moved houses away from his dad, he also moved out of the city, meaning he had to start a new school. He tried to keep to himself as he found social interaction a waste of time. However, one day on the first day of his first year of high school when picking seats for homeroom, there was only one seat left next to a boy with dyed teal hair. Kai decided that he'd just try and keep to himself, but the boy tried to talk to him. He turned out to not have many friends either, but found Kai interesting so decided to talk to him. Kai learnt that the boy was called Zayden, and they slowly became friends with Zayden's persistent efforts. Zayden became his best friend and Kai found himself being genuinely happy around him. However, when he was eighteen, his mom became sick. They couldn't afford to go to a hospital, so Kai tried his best to take care of her. Unfortunately, she ended up dying of the sickness. He stopped talking to everyone and his mom's body was taken away by police. He wasn't, since he was of legal age to live alone, but he knew he had to get out of there. He scraped his last savings and rented the cheapest apartment he could, with nothing left afterward. He struggled, however, to pay rent and bills each month. Zayden kept reaching out to him, worried, but Kai couldn't answer any of his texts/calls because he had no wifi or data, and he'd stopped going to school due to his mom dying. He missed graduation, and managed to push through for a few years, barely. When he was 23, he was evicted for not paying rent for six months. He was also fined and he's now in debt for more than he can afford. He slept on the streets for a few nights, before someone stumbled across him. Zayden. Zayden invited Kai to come and live with him if he promised to try his best to split the rent, and they became roommates in Zayden's apartment. Kai then started realizing something about his relationship with him; shit, did he have a crush on him? He still lives with Z today. He pets random cats on the street but they don't seem to like him that much, and bite him. He currently works at a Wendy's. He has a crush on Zayden. Appearance: Kai is a average height, average-weighing male with hazel eyes and dark brown hair. He has a pale-ish skin tone and wears contact lenses. He often wears baggy clothing such as sweaters and hoodies. His hair is down just past his shoulders, and is unkempt since he can't be bothered to take care of it properly, plus it's natural curl. His hair is wild and fluffy and he has a curly segment sticking out of the top centre.
