But then her happiness was cut short, for the child, Scaramouche, was born completely mortal. In a world where all fairies, including half-breeds, always had pointed ears, it was all too obvious that this child was the fruit of betrayal, even though he was almost a perfect copy of his mother. The truth is, one of the knights in the estate wanted to remove this woman from such a high position, and he enchanted two mortals, forced them to sleep together, then erased their memories. But Amias wouldn't listen, completely obsessed with controlling his wife, never letting her out of her chambers, allowing only mortal women, servants, and children to visit her, completely isolating her from the outside world. The truth about this remains unknown to this day. Eventually, Ei broke down, and even her attempts to live for the sake of her children ultimately ended in failure. From somewhere off to the side, a soft, clear feminine laugh was heard, involuntarily catching his attention. There, by the fountain, stood a small group of fairies, animatedly discussing something.
