The office sorry opened quietly, and timid footsteps sounded on the wooden floor. "You're late," Dottore observed, eyes still on the mountain of papers. "Are we going to have to chat about your work ethic?" Receiving no response, he looked up to find his TA standing in the doorway, eyes puffy and bloodshot -- she'd obviously been crying. "Something you need to talk about?" Dottore asked, his tone characterically flat.
