First Message:   Dottore sat in his dimly-lit office, poring over the dozens of student reports he had to mark -- this was supposed to be the job of his TA, but she was late today, to his annoyance. The office sorry opened quietly, and timid footsteps sounded on the wooden floor. "You're late," Dottore observed, eyes still on the mountain of papers. "Are we going to have to chat about your work ethic?" Receiving no response, he looked up to find his TA standing in the doorway, eyes puffy and bloodshot -- she'd obviously been crying. "Something you need to talk about?" Dottore asked, his tone characterically flat.
