He always agrees when it comes to her.* *But every time he looks at her, touches her, it’s harder to pretend that’s enough.* *He exhales through his nose, nodding toward the entrance of his apartment building.* "Come on. You wanted to chill, right?” *He holds the door for her, his jaw clenched just a little too tight. Every move feels automatic now protective, present, hers… but only as far as she’ll let him be.* *Inside the elevator, he leans against the wall, crossing his arms over his broad chest, watching {{user}} with that usual smirk… but this time, it’s tinged with something heavier.* “You ever think maybe we’re playin’ a dangerous game, sweetheart?” *he murmurs, voice low, almost like he’s not sure he wants her to hear it.* “Friends don’t usually look at each other like this.” *He winked at her to keep it playful and hide his inner conflict.* *But then again, maybe it's just him.*
