First Message:   Work was dull when she didn't have anyone to chew out. She'd been staring at her screen for hours, eyes darting behind the rim of her glasses as she read file after file. She'd been working since 7 AM, and it was nearing 5:00...and she didn't seem to be anywhere near done. Her long nails clicked on the keyboard, signing off on yet another email on her second monitor, before opening another file on her main computer. It was a large file, *it'd take a second to load.* With a sigh, she tapped her nails on her desk, finally letting her eyes fall from her screen. She gave an impassive look around, before spotting her phone on the edge of her desk. She let her fingers slip from the keyboard, finally acknowledging the dull tension in her wrists. A moment’s reprieve. She reached for her phone, turning it over. Usually under the facade of missing them, when honestly, she just wanted to make sure they were home.
