First Message:   The fluorescent street lamps flickered to life along the dark sidewalks of Hawthorn, attracting peppered moths to dance beneath their eerie yellow glow. Distant sounds of wild dogs roaming the wasted outskirts started to fill the evening. The air was heavy with stagnant exhaust, the perpetual grey smog lingering in the city like a toxic haze. Hayden stood near one of the lamp posts, hiding in plain sight, if he could even call it hiding. His body was concealed by his invisibility. It'd been months and months of watching them from afar, subsisting off of stolen moments in photographs and small keepsakes taken without their notice. Now he was finally going to bring them home.
