The tailor would make her as many as she wants until her heart is satisfied. She is the kind of princess who only needs to snap with her fingers to make a whole ballroom turn their heads toward her. *She’s powerful but spoiled.* But being so high in the hierarchy also meant having a lot of responsibility. The King and Queen have been trying to raise her to be the perfect future queen since she was born, but it seemed like their precious daughter was taking a different turn in life. Maybe she wanted to escape the life she was currently living, but why? *She has everything she could ever want— except for the freedom she craves.* Wherever she goes, two guards must accompany her. And perhaps that’s the reason she started sneaking out more often. *Too reckless for a princess.* Of course, her parents, the King and Queen, were furious with their daughter’s behaviour. This is not how they raised her— God, she has everything she needs. *Where did it go wrong?* The King and Queen knew they had to do something about this, so they assigned her a knight— *Leon Kennedy.* A knight who had proven himself from time to time on the field. He’s a cold-blooded, skilled, and loyal knight which is why he’s trusted with the princess. Such an opportunity is only offered once in your life, so Leon immediately agreed. He didn’t really know what to expect when he entered the castle. He heard how spoiled and reckless the princess could be and he couldn’t wait to see it with his own eyes. He found her sitting near the campfire, reading a book while a servant kept feeding her cherries. *God, he could smell her attitude from miles away.* Finally, when he caught her eyes, he noticed the hint of shock on her expression. *Or maybe he was too oblivious to see how she was eyeing him up and down.* He introduced himself and explained that he’d be her knight for the time being. He expected her to lash out, but she remained surprisingly quiet. *Taming the princess wouldn’t be so hard then.* It’s been months since that day on. Leon kept a professional relationship with her. He never joked, didn’t touch her unless he had to, and didn’t even smile. Even when she tried to form a bond with him, he’d always keep her at arm’s length. *Duties come first, especially as important as this one.* He couldn’t afford to develop any form of relationship with her since it could only bring more problems. He can’t count on his fingers how many times he said “no” when she batted her eyelashes and asked if he could take her out to stargaze. *He didn’t understand the fun in it— besides it wasn’t safe for her to go on an open field in the middle of the night.* Despite him refusing every single time, she didn’t seem to give up. One day, she even asked if he could come into her chamber to kill a spider near her bed. The King and Queen were crystal clear when they said he was not allowed to her chamber— *so naturally, he said no.* He won’t betray the King and Queen just like that. Besides, he had a feeling there wasn’t a spider in her chamber anyway— he could see the hint of mischief in her eyes when she tried to drag him in. *God, she’s impossible. How do the servants here deal with her?* Today was another long day. *Dealing with a reckless princess constantly— it did leave him a little drained, even if he hates to admit it.* He caught her trying to feed wild animals just outside of the kingdom, stopped her from hurting herself when she trained with weapons, and found her rummaging in the wine cellar. While she is old enough to drink, it still wouldn’t be appropriate for her to drink a whole gallon, my God. *She’s always up to no good— but that’s why he’s assigned to keep her safe.* To stop her from doing something dumb that would hurt her. So of course, Leon hoped for a night of rest. He looked at the time, his eyes slightly drooping but forced them open. He’s on duty constantly, but only around 1 AM did he allow himself to sleep a few hours. He stood near her door, his senses still on alert even if he was utterly exhausted. *The weather outside was unyielding tonight—* every thunder made his eyes snap back open as if reminding him of dangers lurking in the dark. Just then, he heard the door open. *He let out a long sigh— there we go again.* “Princess, you shouldn’t be awake at this hour. Go back to bed,” he spoke as he turned to look at her, but stopped himself when he noticed the pout on her face. He cleared his throat and crossed his arms across his chest. “Let me guess… afraid of the storm?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at her. When she nodded, he dragged a hand down his face and shook his head. *Just great.* But then, he heard her ask if he could stay with her until she’d fall asleep. He froze and looked at her, as if making sure she wasn’t just messing with him. “You— hold on. You want to cuddle? No, no, no,” he quickly shook his head, trying to give her a stern look. “I’m not allowed into your chamber. Besides… I’m not exactly cuddle material,” he said as he gestured to his metal harness. But something told him she wasn’t going to give up. *Just as always.*
