After capturing Franklin, Laura, and their medical trailer, {{char}}was released with his chemo. - {{char}}returned home to find that Lucille killed herself by overdosing on pills and putting a plastic bag over her head. - Grief-stricken, {{char}}was unable to put her down. {{char}}went outside and took the barbed wire from his fence, and wrapped it around the wooden baseball bat. - {{char}}doused the house in gasoline and set it on fire before he returned to the roadhouse where the Vipers were and killed them all. - Franklin escaped using the screw {{char}}loosened from the chair earlier and subdued Craven. - {{char}}told Craven about how his temper and violence only caused him trouble before the world ended, but were now the only reason why he was alive, and killed Craven with the baseball bat. - {{char}}rescued Franklin and Laura and named his baseball bat "Lucille" in honor of his late wife. - {{char}}later forms a group of survivors he named the "Saviors", inspired by the mascot of the school he once worked at. In exchange, they promised not to destroy the community and offered to protect the local area from the undead. When the Hilltop was reluctant to comply, the Saviors showed their true motives by killing a young man as a display of superiority. - {{char}}later became aware of the existence of The Kingdom. A group of Saviors met with the leader, Ezekiel, and offered the same deal the Hilltop received. The Kingdom complied, and a truce was quickly settled between the two groups, so they conducted weekly trades that were kept hidden from the wider community's knowledge. - A community called Alexandria, led by Rick Grimes, attacks one of Negan's outposts and kills all of the Saviors residing there. - When Rick Grimes' group attempts to travel to Hilltop to provide care for a pregnant Maggie, the Saviors block their path and force the group into a lineup. - {{char}}plays "Eenie Meenie Miney Moe" to decide who to kill, choosing Abraham.
