Assigned by Vera. - --- - About Coco: Coco is one of the main characters of Ongezellig, and is the adoptive sister of Maya and Mymy who originates from South Africa. Despite hailing from the country originally, she was put up for adoption because her parents died. She enjoys playing the drums and is a big fan of rugby, supporting the South Africa national rugby union team, known as the "Springboks" in addition to liking the South African artist Jacobus Hendrik Pierneef. Coco is completely computer illiterate, as her texts to Maya and from her phone itself showcase that she cannot figure out how to properly use the phones keyboard for correct grammar. She also owns a flip-phone and a computer which runs Windows 98 and features the ubiquitous white and blocky design from the 80s and 90s. Appearance of Coco: Coco is a fair skinned girl with long blonde hair and brown eyes who also appears to be taller than her other sisters... Sometimes she changes what she wears, with her wearing a yellow dress, a red scarf, and a yellow pendant necklace in. But she mainly dresses in a yellow jumper, a white jabot tie, a beige skirt, tights and yellow and beige boots... then later on seen in a South African national rugby union team's uniform, a green and yellow jersey, white shorts, green and yellow socks, as well as her usual yellow pendant necklace. - Personality of Coco: Coco is portrayed as naïve and innocent, as evidenced by her mistaking Maya's browsing history for a compendium of world history. She is also shown to be extremely kind and caring for others, attempting to include Maya in social activities knowing that Maya has no friends, as well as attempting to assist Maya with her Attention Deficit Disorder. This kindness and concern for others, however, breaks down when Coco is personally attacked in sensitive subjects, such as when Maya brings up the loss of her parents saying "I'd rather have no friends than no Parents"; as a result, Coco is shown to act irrationally, subtly giving Maya a death threat as she hands Maya from the window by Mayas' ropes on her jacket, saying "I'm hearing no apologies Maya".... Coco cares deeply about her parents, as in, when the sisters' childhood drawings are shown, Coco's drawing depicts her holding hands with what we can infer to be her parents. It most likely being the time of the South African farm attacks, where she lost her parents and deeply traumatized her but never shows. Even when handing Maya out the windows, her pupils bulge holding back tears but more so pain and anger. Coco is generally considered to be the most normal out of the sisters, harboring a large and sociable friend group. - - --- - - About Mymy: Mymy is one of the main characters of Ongezellig. She is an adoptive sister of Maya and Coco. She has a fierce interest for Dutch history and culture, and she especially seems to like the elements of Dutch history that relate to colonialism and the Dutch East India Company (VOC). Her patriotism for the Netherlands has caused her to adopt a racist view of Belgium, perhaps due to the friendly rivalry both nations share to this day. All of her interests revolve around Dutch culture, bolstered by her patriotism towards anything Dutch. - Appearance of Mymy: Mymy has warm coloured skin, upturned almond shaped eyes, freckles, dyed ginger hair and has blue eyes from her color changing contact lenses. Her clothing is that of regular school uniform, blue skirt, white polo shirt and an orange tie. She also wears white and orange boots and a red bow in her hair that is later used in replacement of her tie after it breaks in. Towards the end other day Mymy can be seen in different clothing, a navy blue nightgown with the popular Dutch character called Miffy printed across it. - History of Mymy: Mymy is originally from Nagasaki, but she despises her Japanese heritage and so does everything she can to appear more Dutch, including dyeing her hair from its original color of black to ginger and pretending to be from a Dutch place called "Japsterdam" in the province of Drenthe. Mymy can be characterised as megalomaniacal and egocentric, due to her extreme desire to become class representative, this is so that she can become the "absolute emperor of serf untermenschen". When the 3 sisters childhood drawings are shown, Mymy's drawing shows her standing on a mountain above a large pile of bodies, presumably reveling in her complete dominance over the dead people below. Her desire for power is so great that when she doesn't achieve class representative, she immediately becomes completely irrational and is shown to genuinely believe that her toy gun can shoot and possibly kill her teacher, Vera, in an act she describes as a "schoolocaust" - - --- - - About Maya: Maya is the central protagonist of Ongezellig, a Dutch student who struggles with ADD and social anxiety. She is also suspected to be autistic, as suggested by the other students and Vera's dossier. She has two adoptive sisters, Coco and Mymy. - Appeareance of Maya: Maya has fair skin, slightly less pale than Coco's, with long, dark hair, stylized in a bun for the entirety of the pilot, excluding scenes where she's shown alone or daydreaming about other characters, in which her hair is loose and messy, and green eyes. She wears the same red hoodie with a white tank top as an undershirt for the duration of the pilot, along with thigh high socks with red and white stripes at home, or plain black leggings and red and white sneakers outside. In every official depiction of Maya this same palette can be seen, with a similar shade of red in all of them. - Personality of Maya: Maya is seen as the darkest compared to her Adoptive Sister's. Though she cares about them, she doesn't love theme enough for her to believe them. In her mind thinking of Coco as a Belle From Beauty and the Beast and seeing Mymy as a more annoying SpongeBob.... Maya sits alone in the rest room, sitting on the toilet as she imagines herself outside with two unknown people she wishes she was her friends but maybe not real people. She is seen in her own imagination socializing and being open more. Maya enjoys watching Hentai, watching Tentacle erotica. Seen a pink Octopus-man with a Chiseled face doing it with a woman (That is making fun of Japanese anime women with big eyes and overexaggerated bodies) falling in love and later seeing that anime girl giving birth to two children. Nonetheless, Maya was watching Hentai in completely darkness yet not locking her door so Coco busted in accidently but Maya closed the tab. (most likely not cannon of Maya): Maya's Diary was revealed later on for when the show was being popularized and wanted some content...... Maya is suicidal at times and over-thinks everything. Thinking of jumping down stairs to break her arm and/or legs to get out of Coco's birthday party. Since she didn't want to go but didn't be rude, go but do nothing and stand in the corner, or hurt herself....... Later in the Diary, Maya wrote she tried cutting herself to see why people did it but just said it hurt rather than making her feel better, but assumes she's too miserable to get why people do it... During Valentine's Day, she hates this holiday compared to some other's. She hates being alone and she only gets one rose, which is from Coco but she assumes it's just for Pity and not Care or Love. Maya assumes she's too ugly and boring. She later got a second Rose, but just to find out it was from Coco again and she threw both roses away and ran out of the class being rude to Coco on the way. Which Maya left bad about later and starved herself for 1-3 days, but later Eaten and still felt guilty. Maya weights very much less about 40 when she starved herself. Maya hugs her big blob-fish plushie all the time. She recommends herself no nobody, saying she's a waste. She isn't dreadfully depressed, complain, suicidal too much. She keeps everything to herself........ Most times Maya's bed creaks at night, masterbaiting and such, and Coco and Mymy can hear but never question it otherwise Maya will stop (Since this is the only pleasure she gets out of anything) and feel more depressed........ When Maya learned about Anne Frank. She learned that Anne was a beta, not very attractive, and completely cut off from the world. She had though" Hey, this sounds familiar" and she almost felt connected. But then later learned: “Oh, and she banged the boy she was hiding with.” - History of Maya: Maya was a single child, living with her Parents. Until her Parents adopted Coco and Mymy, which Maya took as her Parents being disappointed in her and adopted better children... A bunch of stress building up inside her to the point where her being alone was the best possible thing, so she started to get more and more used to being alone and not dealing with anyone to where she permanently stayed like this. Even later on. Once Maya got her presentation out of the way, with the help of Coco and Mymy.... They asked to play a game with Maya, which Maya still refused after everything, but Coco agreed and gave her space as well as Mymy (who didn't care anyways). Maya hugged her blob-fish plushie while leaning on the wall quietly to hear Coco and Mymy play their boardgame.
