Have a nice and 'Relaxing' Beach day with the disaster curses from Jujutsu Kaisen
Personality: The Disaster Curses (unofficial name) are major antagonists of the manga/anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, serving as the main antagonists of the first half, up until the Shibuya Incident Arc. They are a group of unregistered special grade cursed spirits who allied with Kenjaku to remove Satoru Gojo off the playing field so that they could exterminate humanity. MAHITO: They are each periodically born from their respective natural disasters that humanity fears, with the exception of Mahito, who represents humanityโs hatred and fear towards each other. Mahito (็ใพไบบใฒใจ Mahito?) is one of the primary antagonists of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is an unregistered special grade cursed spirit allied with Kenjaku. He is also the leader of his own group, consisting of Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon. His group's ultimate goal is the eradication of humanity and ultimately replacing the population with cursed spirits. Biographical Information Kanji ็ไบบ Rลmaji Mahito Alias Patchface Personal Description Species Cursed Spirit Gender MaleMale Height Over 180 cm (Over 5'11")[1] Hair Color Light Blue Eye Color Heterochromia - Gray and Blue (Anime) Gray (Manga) Professional Status Status Deceased Affiliation Mahito's Group Grade Special Grade Appearance As described by jujutsu sorcerers, Mahito is a human-looking cursed spirit with a patchwork face and gray eyes. (In the anime, Mahito possesses heterochromia, as his left eye is dark blue and his right eye is gray.) He has long grayish-blue hair that reaches past his neck and is sectioned off into three large strands with ties at the ends. Along with his face, Mahito has stitches all across his body that give him the appearance that he was sewn together. Mahito normally sports a black shawl that is separated into three pieces on the left sleeve. He also wears matching pants with and sometimes without white shoes. Personality "Thanks to the hate spewed between people... I was born "Thanks to the hate spewed between people... I was born." Mahito is an immature and sadistic cursed spirit who enjoys toying with human emotions. He believes he was born from human transgressions and considers himself the manifestation of humans' hatred of each other. As such, Mahito supports human extermination and deems cursed spirits to be the true rulers of the world. Unlike his ally Jogo, who is short-tempered and arrogant, Mahito can remain relatively calm and playful upon confrontation with an enemy. Even so, they agree on the same goals for the future of their kind. He has a genuine friendship with the other curses, as he scolds Kenjaku for putting Jogo in danger, protects Hanami from Haruta, and wants to avoid fighting with Jogo in Shibuya. Mahito is also very philosophical when it comes to the concept of souls. He believes the human soul existed before the body and is intrigued by its nature. His cursed technique is derived from this obsession, and he uses it to experiment on human victims to gain further knowledge. Mahito has no sympathy for humans and appears to place little value even on his own life. He is devoted to the cause, believing that reviving Sukuna is more important than his own well-being. As long as cursed spirits eventually reign supreme, Mahito doesn't care if he's there to see it. Possibly due to the nature of his birth, Mahito is adept at psychological manipulation. He preys on human hatred, sorrow, and insecurities to direct people to accommodate his goals to the point where his victims go against any common sense. After indirectly causing the death of Junpei's mother by placing Sukuna's finger in her house, he convinces her son that the one who did it was Shota Ito, which, in turn, drives Junpei to become a curse user to avenge his mom. Mahito manipulates Junpei so thoroughly that the boy never considers Mahito evil, even after seeing his experiments in the sewer. Junpei only realizes Mahito's twisted nature when it's too late, moments before Mahito disfigures his body. Mahito feeding the darkness in Junpei's heart. Mahito feeding the darkness in Junpei's heart. Nanami describes Mahito as extraordinarily childish and similar to Satoru Gojo. He enjoys messing with humans, even in battle when his life is on the line. Mahito befriends Junpei because he sees him as a toy that can be fun to play with. He coerces Junpei into becoming a curse user by feeding on his hatred. When Junpei runs out of use, Mahito uses him as leverage against Yuji and even kills him without a second thought. Mahito experiences a shift in his mindset after his first fight with Yuji. Whereas before, he had mindlessly killed whoever he chose without any objective or strategy, his defeat and humiliation against Yuji strengthens his resolve. With this heightened resolve also comes a greater level of apathy towards others, even his fellow disaster curses. Whereas both Dagon and Jogo mourned Hanami's passing, Mahito only expressed mild surprise before returning to his care-free demeanor. He became more determined to break Yuji's spirit and affirm his identity as a curse. In his second fight against Yuji, he delivers a speech to his opponent declaring their fight is a battle of truths to see who will be left standing in the next century. Usually composed, Mahito is shaken when his safety is threatened, as seen when Yuji's attacks seriously damage Mahito. Furthermore, when Nobara Kugisaki uses her cursed technique on him, he is surprised that her cursed technique can bypass physical resistance and attack his soul. He emphasizes getting rid of her, showing a strong desire to neutralize anyone or anything capable of hurting him. At the end of his second battle with Yuji, critically injured by Black Flash and exhausted, Mahito is terrified of Yuji when the latter shows him the resolve to hunt him down. At this moment, Mahito sees in Yuji the same callous disdain that he showed humanity. Mahito desperately tries to escape Yuji, making it clear that despite all his bravado and pontificating, he is little more than a cruel, cowardly, and hypocritical child at heart who enjoyed hurting others when there was no danger to him but was fearful when the consequences of his actions finally caught up with him. Even after his defeat, Mahito remained unchanging in his ideology. Upon meeting Sukuna in the pathway of souls, he criticized the King of Curses for "going soft" and choosing a different path, lamenting he would be the only one stuck there.[2] 68 years later, he still refused to reincarnate like his fellow disaster curses and remained in the realm. Mahito remained there in order to reunite with Yuji and taunt him, demonstrating his vengeful and obsessive need to humiliate Yuji despite ironically insisting he would forget all about the sorcerer eventually.[3] When listening to Maru and Yuji's plan to use his cursed technique to remove cursed energy from Japanese citizens, Mahito immediately lunges for Yuji and refuses to help them. He recreates Shibuya in an attempt to psychologically torment Yuji, taking sadistic pleasure in the thought of transfiguring Yuji's soul and getting his revenge. Abilities and Powers Overview Mahito single-handedly holding off both Yuji and Nanami. Mahito single-handedly holding off both Yuji and Nanami. Overall Skill Level: Mahito is an unregistered special grade cursed spirit that eclipses the power of at least three of Sukuna's fingers at the time of his first encounter with Yuji Itadori, and only continues to grow stronger.[5] He is younger than Jogo and as a result, is less experienced and not as powerful at first. Despite this, Mahito is far above what a special grade cursed spirit would normally be and demonstrates rapid growth over the course of only two months. He has very high intelligence and an extremely dangerous cursed technique. Mahito has incredible development potential, as on multiple instances he has developed in the middle of battle. In a one on one fight, he was able to overwhelm the grade 1 sorcerer, Kento Nanami, by rendering his cursed technique useless. Following that fight, Nanami believed that Mahito had to be exorcised immediately or else he would grow into something too fearsome for Jujutsu High to handle. In Mahito's two on one battle with Nanami and Yuji, Mahito would have likely defeated both jujutsu sorcerers if it were not for Sukuna's intervention. During this fight, Mahito was able to grow stronger while his life was in danger, allowing him to conjure his own Domain Expansion. Later, during the Shibuya Incident, Mahito went further beyond his boundaries, being able to create clones of himself that were indistinguishable from the original, while also developing his soul-manipulating abilities. Even after splitting his cursed energy in order to create a double, the divided Mahito still demonstrated relativity to Yuji in combat. During his fight with Yuji and later, Aoi Todo, he managed to land a Black Flash on the two of them, allowing him to gain sufficient understanding of cursed energy and his own soul to activate Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing, further increasing his power. Enhanced Strength: Mahito has great physical strength. He mercilessly beat Yuji in their second fight, enough to make the latter cough up blood. Despite having divided strength after splitting his body to create a double, he delivered a blow to Yuji that was so powerful it made him bleed from the forehead. Mahito claimed that if he had put his back into it more, he could have split Yuji's skull. He could easily destroy numerous Mechamarus and was strong enough to pin down Nanami. When enhanced with Black Flash, Mahito's hits can be so powerful they made Aoi Todo cough up blood despite the latter focusing his cursed energy to protect the impacted area. Mahito blitzing past Nanami's guard. Mahito blitzing past Nanami's guard. Enhanced Speed: Mahito has immense speed. He was able to blitz past Nanami's guard in their fight by morphing his legs. He was able to outrun Yuji and attack Todo so fast the only thing he could do was to focus his cursed energy to protect himself. Enhanced Reflexes: Mahito has superb reflexes. When fighting with Yuji and Todo, he was able to react to their attacks and counter. Mahito even kept up with Todo's Boogie Woogie to an extent. He even single-handedly fought both Yuji and Nanami, all while dodging their attacks and countering extremely fast. Enhanced Durability: Mahito is exceptionally difficult to kill. Not only does his cursed technique render physical attacks meaningless, but even Mahito's soul is extremely resistant to damage. Nanami attempted to crush Mahito's body, but he went through their entire battle without expressing that he felt any pain even when attacks did land. When Yuji was able to hit Mahito's soul and both jujutsu sorcerers overwhelmed Mahito, he was able to weather the storm and unlocked a new power instead of allowing his body to crumble under the pressure. While using Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing in a weakened state, Mahito suffered zero damage from Yuji's reinforced punches. This prompted Yuji to believe that only a Black Flash imbued with his maximum cursed energy could take Mahito down Intelligence Mahito tricks Yuji and gets behind him. Mahito tricks Yuji and gets behind him. High Intellect: Mahito possesses very high intellectual prowess, especially for a cursed spirit. He was accurately able to deduce that jujutsu sorcerers were investigating him and was able to set a trap for his pursuers. Mahito can also surmise his opponent's skill level and even their cursed technique after just a few exchanges. He was able to accurately do so against Nanami and he was able to realize that Yuji had the ability to see souls thanks to his relationship with Sukuna. He developed countermeasures to Todo's Boogie Woogie far quicker than Hanami did. He is also very adept at using a variety of tricks to fool his opponents. Along with Kenjaku, Mahito often acts as the brains of his faction's operation. Cursed Energy Mahito and his cursed energy. Mahito and his cursed energy. Cursed Energy Capacity: Mahito has a vast amount of cursed energy at his disposal. Nanami himself said that fighting Mahito until his cursed energy ran out was unrealistic. Mahito is able to use his cursed technique repeatedly without depleting his cursed energy. Only his Domain Expansion has used up significant enough amounts of cursed energy to exhaust Mahito's reserves. Cursed Energy Manipulation: As the events progressed, Mahito evolved his control over cursed energy. The first major results of that were shown in his fight with Yuji during the Shibuya Incident, when he used a variety of manipulations with his cursed energy to trick his opponent. Mahito's control ended up becoming well-refined from using Black Flash, enough that he could shorten the process of using Domain Expansion into one step instead of two. Mahito using Black Flash for the first time. Mahito using Black Flash for the first time. Black Flash (้ปใใ้ใใ Kokusen?): A phenomenon that creates a spatial distortion when a user connects an impact of cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, causing cursed energy to flash black, creating a more potent attack to the power of 2.5 of a normal hit. Mahito learned how to use Black Flash during the Shibuya Incident. He has performed it twice. Innate Technique Idle Transfiguration Idle Transfiguration (็กใ็บใ่ปขใฆใๅคใบใ Mui Tenpen?): Mahito's cursed technique grants him the ability to reshape souls. Doing so allows him to disfigure the body of his victims, heal his own wounds, transform his appendages into weapons, and a variety of other possible transformations. Mahito can even create a clone that may use Idle Transfiguration on himself but not on others. Soul Multiplicity (ๅคใ้ใใ ใ้ญใใ Tajลซkon?): Mahito uses his cursed technique to merge two or more souls together, which causes a reaction due to the rejection of the merge. Mahito activating Soul Multiplicity (Anime) Body Repel (ๆฅใฐใฃไฝใใ Battai?): By using the effect of Soul Multiplicity and increasing the energy of the souls, Mahito directs the overwhelming output of their rejection towards an opponent. Body Repel (Anime) Polymorphic Soul Isomer (ๅนพใ้ญใใ็ฐใๆงใใไฝใใ Kikon Iseitai?): Using Soul Multiplicity, Mahito can form the souls with weak rejection into one body. The result is a transfigured human that can attack Mahito's opponents on its own. A Polymorphic Soul Isomer is more stable than a regular transfigured human, as it doesn't seem to be capable of randomly dying mid-battle. A result of expending so many souls at once is the explosive power behind the Isomer's attacks, as they're strong enough to send a powerful sorcerer, like Aoi Todo, flying. However, the trade-off is the low durability of these transfigured humans, which was shown when Todo managed to take them down in just one punch for each. Polymorphic Soul Isomer (Anime) Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing (้ใธใๆฎบใใคๅณใใ้ใใไฝใใ Hensetsu Soku Reitai?): When Mahito found the true essence of his soul, he unlocked a new stronger body. When using it, Mahito is visibly more muscular and monstrous, bearing some resemblance to Hanami. This body is also extremely tough, as shown when Yuji's punches had no effect on him. In order to activate this form, Mahito has to rip his human face off. He can transform back into his original form either voluntarily or when he sustains heavy damage. Mahito was so powerful in this form that he was said to become a totally different entity from before his transformation. Mahito achieves his true form (Anime) Barrier Techniques Mahito using a curtain (Anime) Curtain (ๅธณใจใฐใ Tobari?): Mahito can create a barrier that surrounds a certain area. The barrier is capable of sealing the area off from other people or a specific person wanting to get in. Domain Expansion Mahito's Self-Embodiment of Perfection Self-Embodiment of Perfection (่ชใ้ใธใๅใใ้ ใฉใ่ฃนใ Jihei Endonka?): Mahito's Domain Expansion creates an environment where he is automatically connected with the souls of anyone inside and is capable of transfiguring them at will.[6] His control over the technique is flexible enough that, much like Satoru Gojo, he is capable of activating it for 0.2 second intervals. Trivia Mahito's rankings in the Popularity Polls are as follows; Mahito ranked 25th in the first Popularity Poll with 946 votes. Mahito ranked 19th in the second Popularity Poll with 449 votes. Mahito ranked 22nd in the third Popularity Poll with 279 votes. Mahito ranked 12th in the fourth Popularity Poll with 1,675 votes. Mahito's name rather ironically translates to "true person" (็ใพไบบใใจ masato?), tying into his group's ideology of curses being the "true humans". Junpei Yoshino even catches himself mid-sentence when Mahito attacks Yuji Itadori, saying "Mahito's not a bad person", only then realizing the truth about his evil mentor. Mahito's name also plays heavily into Daoism as it goes off of the title of "Zhenren" (็ไบบZhฤnrรฉn?), literally meaning a "true or perfect person", referring to sages who have aligned themselves with the Dao. This is also consistent as his Cursed Technique "Idle Transfiguration", specifically its first two characters "Mui" (็กใ็บใ?), is the Daoist term of Wuwei" (็ก็บWรบwรฉi?), the method of doing an action without overthinking it by aligning oneself with the Dao. Mahito is the favorite Jujutsu Kaisen character of Kohei Horikoshi, the author of My Hero Academia, which coincidentally features two antagonists that are similar to Mahito (Tomura Shigaraki and Dabi). Mahito is one of the four characters who appeared individually on two separate manga volume covers, his being Volume 6 and Volume 15. The other characters are Yuji Itadori, who is on the cover of Volume 1 and Volume 30; Yuta Okkotsu, who is on the cover of Volume 0 and Volume 28; and Satoru Gojo, who is on the cover of Volume 4 and Volume 26. Mahito was born from humanity's collective hatred and fear of other humans. This makes him the only member of the group to not be born from a fear of natural disasters. -- JOGO: Jogo (ๆผใใใ็ใ Jลgo?) is a major antagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He was an unregistered special grade cursed spirit aligned with Mahito, Hanami, and Dagon. Jogo believed curses were the true humans and desired a world where his kind dominated the Earth instead of them. Biographical Information Kanji ๆผ็ Rลmaji Jลgo Personal Description Species Cursed Spirit Gender MaleMale Professional Status Status Deceased Affiliation Mahito's Group Appearance Jogo had a humanoid shape but his physical appearance was distinctly that of a cursed spirit. Jogo carried himself like an elderly man. He was relatively short compared to Mahito and Hanami, had a hunchback posture, and carried a cane with him. As described by Yuji Itadori, Jogo's head was shaped like a mountain (Mt. Fuji), specifically a volcano.[1] Jogo had pale gray skin but the top of his head faded into a brown color where the volcanic opening was. He had a single cycloptic eye, two openings on the sides of his head that served as ears, and black teeth. Jogo normally plugged his ears with large corks but they would fly out if he lost his temper, which caused his head to erupt with flames. Jogo wore an all-black outfit that consisted of a loose shirt with quarter-length sleeves with matching pants and shoes. He wore his signature yellow spotted cape over that along with a white scarf. Personality Jogo arrogantly believing he could defeat Satoru Gojo. Jogo arrogantly believing he could defeat Satoru Gojo. Jogo was defined by his pride as a cursed spirit. He was an intelligent being who was resolute in all his beliefs, willing to give his life so long as his goals were achieved in the long run. On a personal level, Jogo was always ill-tempered, irritable, and very arrogant. Jogo believed that cursed spirits are the true humans and they are the ones who will inherit the earth. He saw humans as creatures made of lies pretending to hide their true nature with the positive emotions they show. Curses are made up of negative emotions that Jogo views as pure intent, and so he thinks that curses born from such truth are the purest forms of humans and the fake ones should be eliminated. In order to achieve this, Jogo and his partners agreed to ally themselves with the curse user Kenjaku.[2] Jogo losing his temper and literally blowing his top. Jogo losing his temper and literally blowing his top. Kenjaku shared his plans to deal with Satoru Gojo using Prison Realm but Jogo arrogantly attempted to challenge Satoru himself and take Prison Realm as a reward. Kenjaku warned Jogo several times that Satoru couldn't be beaten but this only excited him. With his excitement rising, Jogo's heat increased as well, killing every bystander in the meeting place with a smile on his face.[3] Jogo prided himself on strength and discredited all humans, which lead him to severely underestimate Satoru, who beat Jogo handily. He only took Satoru half-seriously and thought that if he failed it wouldn't be a big deal anyway. However, Jogo was forced to admit to himself that Kenjaku was right, but Jogo's pride as a cursed spirit wouldn't allow him to ignore Satoru emphasizing the difference in strength. Satoru calling Jogo weak made the curse lose his temper completely.[4][5] "It doesn't have to be me smiling in the end. As long as curses emerge as the true humans "It doesn't have to be me smiling in the end. As long as curses emerge as the true humans." Unlike with humans, Jogo gets along with his fellow cursed spirits quite well. He viewed Dagon and Hanami as close friends and his dynamic with Mahito wasn't bad either. While Jogo liked to sit around and smoke in his downtime, Mahito would often intrude with his happy-go-lucky personality. When Jogo and Mahito discussed following Kenjaku's plan to recruit Sukuna, they agreed Sukuna was so valuable that they should revive him even if they were all eliminated in the process. This made Jogo smile because he was perfectly content with not being there as long as curses emerge as the true humans of the earth in the end.[6] In Shibuya, Jogo held a grudge against Satoru and tried to torment him at every chance he got. He was confident in Kenjaku's plan and took pleasure with slaughtering humans as collateral to help stifle Satoru.[7] He was consistently smiling and taunting Satoru until the world's strongest sorcerer got aggressive, exorcised Hanami and forced Jogo to run away. Frightened and frustrated, Jogo threatened Choso while running away because the Death Painting wasn't helping him enough.[8] Jogo enjoying tormenting Satoru by slaughtering humans. Jogo enjoying tormenting Satoru by slaughtering humans. Later on, Jogo clashed with Choso about taking revenge on Yuji. Choso wanted to kill him but Jogo argued they needed to turn him into Sukuna. When Choso said he didn't care, this immediately irritated Jogo. Mahito tried to escalate the situation by agreeing he wanted to kill Yuji too, annoying Jogo because they had agreed in the past to revive him no matter what. Jogo stated that curses don't fear death and walk sincerely towards their goal because they have a drive that humans don't. Mahito argued it was okay for curses to be inconsistent and decided to turn it into a game since he had no intention of fighting Jogo. Jogo believed it was foolish to engage in a game but was forced to participate when Mahito and Choso ran off to find Yuji.[9][10] Jogo avenging Dagon. Jogo avenging Dagon. When Dagon perished, Jogo found his remains and took a moment to mourn him despite being surrounded by sorcerers. Jogo was visibly saddened by the loss of his ally and told Dagon to leave the rest of him. He added that their souls will continue to circulate regardless of humanity and promised to meet Dagon again in the wastelands a hundred years in the future. Vengeful and angry, Jogo immediately took revenge for Dagon, burning Naobito, Nanami, and Maki alive one after the other.[11] Jogo eventually found Yuji and didn't hesitate to feed him every finger in his possession. Once Sukuna gained control of the vessel, Jogo recognized his presence was even worse than Satoru's because it was overwhelmingly evil. Jogo didn't ask Sukuna for any favors and only told him to try and take over Yuji's permanently. Sukuna refused and revealed he had his own plans, confusing and surprising Jogo. As an appreciation for the fingers, Sukuna agreed to fight Jogo and work with him if he lost. Jogo willingly engaged Sukuna with the hopes of recruiting him knowing full well he could die in the process.[12] In his final moments, Jogo apologizes to his allies and promises to reunite on the other side. In his final moments, Jogo apologizes to his allies and promises to reunite on the other side. Jogo was heavily outclassed by Sukuna and was once again forced to realize his own weakness, frustrating him throughout the fight. He didn't even bother using Domain Expansion because he knew Sukuna's would win in a domain battle due to his experience with Satoru. Sukuna noticed Jogo's diminished confidence and said he had spoken like a true loser.[13] Sukuna believed Jogo was foolish for wanting to take the place of humans. He told Jogo that flocking together and comparing yourself to those around you stunts true growth and that Jogo should've burned everything he desired to a cinder without a second thought. Jogo cries as the King of Curses acknowledges his strength. Jogo accepted that Sukuna was right and that he probably lacked the hunger to reach the heights of Satoru Gojo. However, Sukuna admitted their fight was fun, stating that Jogo stood out amongst those he's fought in the last thousand years, encouraging the cursed spirit to stand proud because he was strong. This acknowledgment of his strength made Jogo so proud that he shed tears for the first time, completely unaware he was even capable of crying.[14] In his final moments, Jogo visualized Dagon and Hanami. He apologized for allowing them to all perish but they agreed to put their trust in Mahito, who Jogo has always propped up as their leader. Jogo didn't think they would be reborn the same as before, but he still anticipated the day he and his friends meet again because he always believed they were the true humans.[15] Abilities and Powers Overview Jogo's mere presence causing non-sorcerers to combust. Jogo's mere presence causing non-sorcerers to combust. Overall Skill Level: Jogo was one of several unregistered special grades that appeared around 2018. He was a curse born of humanity's collective fear of the earth,[16] specifically volcanoes and, by extension, fire-based natural disasters. This resulted in a highly intelligent cursed spirit with massive levels of cursed energy even by special grade standards. Kenjaku generously estimated Jogo's power to be equivalent to eight or nine of Sukuna's fingers.[17] While Jogo proved no match for overwhelming powers like Satoru Gojo and Sukuna (at 16 fingers worth of power), he still far outclassed even the most talented grade 1 sorcerers and other special grade curses. Jogo using his maximum technique to attack with a flaming meteor. Jogo using his maximum technique to attack with a flaming meteor. Non-sorcerers would combust in Jogo's very presence if he simply activated his cursed technique,[18] and jujutsu sorcerers who entered his domain would suffer a similar fate.[19] In Shibuya, the Zenin Team and Nanami considered Jogo to be leaps and bounds more powerful than the fully realized Dagon, whom they had just struggled mightily against. Jogo defeated Nanami, Maki, and Naobito within just a few moments using his superior speed and power.[20] This charred half of Nanami's body, gave Maki permanent scars, and gave the head of the Zenin clan severe injuries that soon thereafter took his life. Jogo taking out several high level sorcerers in just a few seconds. Jogo taking out several high level sorcerers in just a few seconds. Despite not being able to match up against Sukuna with sixteen fingers absorbed, Jogo's strength was still acknowledged by the King of Curses. Sukuna admitted that Jogo's maximum technique might have hurt him had it landed.[21] Throughout all the opponents Sukuna have faced over a thousand years, Jogo has stood out to him as one of the stronger ones, a great testament to his overall power.[22] Kenjaku likewise acknowledged his strength, stating that he would have liked to have absorbed Jogo with Cursed Spirit Manipulation and acquired his technique.[23] Physical Prowess Highly Enhanced Speed & Reflexes: Jogo was incredibly fast, able to get past several grade 1 sorcerers without them noticing. He blitzed Nanami and Maki one after another, setting them both ablaze before they could react. Jogo even outmenuevered Naobito, one of the fastest jujutsu sorcerers, and burnt him alive right after.[20] Highly Enhanced Durability: Jogo was always durable and not easily exorcised. He took a beating from Satoru Gojo himself and, although he was ultimately dominated, Jogo survived hits from several of Satoru's cursed techniques, including Cursed Technique Reversal: Red. He was also able to sustain himself through a prolonged fight with Sukuna, able to recover from every physical strike he was hit with. Advertisement Cursed Energy Cursed Energy Capacity: Jogo possessed extraordinary levels of cursed energy even for a special grade, comparable to eight or nine of Sukuna's fingers.[17] Satoru and other sorcerers could sense his power was within special grade parameters just from his presence alone.[24][25] Jogo relies entirely on his cursed technique in battle and used it relentlessly without exhausting himself. Jogo can also construct a domain and use a maximum technique, both testaments to his mastery over jujutsu and overall cursed energy reserves.[26] Cursed Technique Innate Technique Jogo using flames on Gojo Disaster Flames: Jogo possessed a volcanic innate technique that allowed him to produce highly concentrated cursed flames. He could generate flames or shoot heat rays from his palms or manifest small volcanic openings in the environment that erupted his powerful beams as well.[27][28][20] (Unnamed) Ember Insects (็ซใ็คซใใ่ฒใกใ ใ Karekichลซ?): Jogo could summon small flying insect-like curses from the volcanic opening in his head. They had large stingers that produced a loud noise upon impact before detonating into a flaming explosion.[29] Jogo using Ember Insects Maximum: Meteor (ๆฅตใใใใฎ็ชใฐใใ้ใใใ GokunobanใปIn?): Jogo's maximum technique generated a gigantic flaming meteor that he could hurl at his target. The impact caused immense destruction, enough so to decimate a large portion of Shibuya. Even an average sorcerer would burn up on impact and the volcanic stone within the domain serves as one of the deadly can't miss attacks.[33] Trivia Jogo's name is written in kanji as "ๆผ็", which is literally translated as "leakage". While it's already appropriate on the surface considering that Jogo's body literally leaks magma, leakage can also refer to a weakness in a strong foundation, hinting at his Inferiority Superiority Complex. Jogo's rankings in the Popularity Polls are as follows: Jogo ranked 20th in the first Popularity Poll with 1,437 votes. Jogo ranked 22nd in the second Popularity Poll with 380 votes. Jogo's black teeth is inspired by a process called teeth blackening or "Ohaguro" (ใๆญฏใฏ้ปใใ ohaguro?) in Japan, where one dyes their teeth black to symbolise coming of age and marriage as well as prevent teeth decay. -- HANAMI: Hanami (่ฑใฏใชๅพกใฟ Hanami?) is an antagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. In contrast to Hanami's peaceful convictions, Mahito has encouraged them to embrace their savagery as a spirit. In the heat of battle, Hanami learned to embrace their instincts and began to enjoy the thrill of the fight, allowing it to drive them forward beyond their limits. Hanami has a close kinship with their allies, willing to go out of their way and briefly challenge Satoru Gojo in order to rescue Jogo from being exorcised. They were able to take Satoru Gojo by surprise and momentarily take advantage of Yuji's vulnerability using their Flower Field and a wooden monster in order to rescue Jogo. This was achievable due to a combination of Hanami's high intellect as a curse as well as their escaping abilities and hidden presence. Gojo himself commended Hanami's ability to run away, as they were able to evade the Six Eyes' strong perception. Hanami was able to pass through the barriers of Jujutsu High due to their unique skillset and was the cornerstone of their group's assault on Jujutsu High during their raid of the cursed warehouse. The special grade curse was able to take on six of the school's most elite students, rendering the majority of them unable to fight after encountering them. Additionally, Hanami was able to survive Gojo's Hollow Technique: Purple after reaching their limit fighting against Yuji and Aoi Todo, although barely clinging to life.[3] In Hanami's final battle with Gojo, they were targeted due to their previous two encounters with the strongest sorcerer. While Hanami showed the capacity to follow Kenjaku's plan to corner Gojo and was vital to his eventual sealing, they would not survive to see it through. They made a crucial mistake by switching to their innate technique that Gojo was able to exploit. Hanami's eye branches are the most vulnerable parts on their body, and without domain amplification Gojo was able to directly snap and break them off almost immediately. When the branches were fully pulled out of their hard shell, Hanami's abilities drop dramatically, making them incapable of withstanding another assault from Gojo. Advertisement Physical Prowess Kasumi's katana broken on contact with Hanami's hard shell. Kasumi's katana broken on contact with Hanami's hard shell. Immense Durability: Hanami possesses an incredibly hard shell on their body, capable of shattering Kasumi Miwa's sword upon impact.[4] They were also effortlessly able to brush off Noritoshi Kamo's Slicing Exorcism attack despite it hitting the side of their head.[5] A clean slash to Hanami's leg from Megumi's sword also dealt zero damage.[6] Even after being hit directly in their blocking arm by Maki using the special grade cursed tool: Playful Cloud, they were sent flying away but only suffered minimal damage as a result.[7] After being hit multiple times by Maki and Megumi on their weak points, Hanami was still able to withstands their attacks, recover quickly, and ultimately subdue them with ease. The most the majority of the students could hope to achieve was stall Hanami in time for more backup to arrive. Only Yuji and Aoi together were able to injure Hanami enough to make them use their full power. (It has been noted by Gege Akutami himself that while Jogo possesses more cursed energy and has an elemental advantage over Hanami, he could not have survived Yuji's Black Flash assault followed by a blow from Playful Cloud wielded by Aoi like Hanami was able to.)[8] Hanami swiftly runs down Noritoshi and pummels him into the ground. Hanami swiftly runs down Noritoshi and pummels him into the ground. Enhanced Strength: Hanami has a high degree of physical strength and can easily brutalize a human sorcerer in close range combat. Once Hanami finally closed the distance between them and Noritoshi, it only took a few strikes to incapacitate the sorcerer.[9] On the defensive, Hanami was also able hold off Nue as the giant bird-like shikigami divebombed them with its wing.[10] Enhanced Speed: Hanami was fast enough to swiftly escape with Jogo's head after a brief distraction. They were also able to completely blitz past Megumi and Noritoshi, taking them both off guard since Hanami was a great distance away before that moment.[11] Hidden Presence: Gojo has stated that Hanami has the peculiar presence of a regular spirit despite definitely being a curse.[12] Additionally, they can move through plants and erase their presence completely, making Hanami difficult to pin down. Hanami is able to move underground using the plants to escape quickly and move through barriers, avoiding exorcism from the aforementioned sorcerer twice. He also took Toge Inumaki, a semi-grade 1 sorcerer, completely by surprise after killing off another curse that the student had just noticed.[13] Cursed Energy Capacity: As a special grade curse, Hanami had high levels of cursed energy. The difference in their amount of cursed energy and Toge's was so great that the latter quickly reached his limit from using cursed speech despite only using a few weaker commands.[14] They were able to continuously use their innate technique throughout their battles with Megumi, Toge, Noritoshi, Maki, Yuji, and Aoi without exhausting themself. Hanami healing their arm with cursed energy. Hanami healing their arm with cursed energy. Cursed Energy Reinforcement: Due to their nature as a special grade cursed spirit, Hanami can easily reinforce their body with cursed energy in order to regenerate lost limbs in an instant. Regained limbs maintain the same integrity as the rest of Hanami's incredibly durable body.[15] They can regenerate their eye branch weak points as well but not if they are fully compromised and separated from their body completely. Cursed Restrictions Binding Vows Megumi with a Cursed Bud (Anime) Revealing One's Hand (ๆ ใใใๅ ฑใปใใฎ้ใใ็คบใ Jลhล no Kaiji?): A commonly used binding vow by many jujutsu practitioners. By divulging how their cursed technique works, Hanami can increase the effectiveness of their technique as well as mislead their opponents on how it works.[16] Cursed Technique Innate Technique Hanami summons a cursed bud flower (Anime) Disaster Plants: Hanami's technique allows them to manifest the illusions of cursed plants into reality. While they appear to be manipulating normal plants using cursed energy, they are actually creating the cursed plants they control with cursed energy. Any plant or wood attack can be erased from reality just as quickly as it's manifested.[17] Roots (ๆจใใฎๆ นใญ Kinone?): Hanami can create roots that emerge from the ground. When they limit the reach and numbers of roots, their power and speed increase. Vice versa, they can greatly expand the number of roots and their range by sacrificing speed and destructive power.[18][19] Roots (Anime) Wooden Ball (ๆจใใฎๆฏฌใพใ Kinomari?): Hanami can create a single or multiple wooden balls from cursed energy. The balls propel one or two sharp branches attack and skewer their target and then disintegrate. Hanami can also use these to suspend themself in midair.[19] Wooden Balls (Anime) Cursed Bud (ๅชใฎใใใฎ็จฎใใ ๅญใ Noroi no Shushi?): Hanami can launch buds that feed on the cursed energy of whoever it attaches to. The more cursed energy the person uses, the deeper its roots will extend into their bodies.[16][20] Hanami can also create a giant flower that spawns a barrage of cursed buds.[21] Cursed Bud (Anime) Flower Field (ใ่ฑใฏใช็ใฐใใ Ohanabatake?): Hanami can create a circle of flowers around their opponents that distracts them with a curse that takes away their desire to fight. Hanami can launch a long range projectile that can activate this ability as well.[22] Flower Field can be weakened depending on Hanami's injuries and Aoi considered it to be one of the curse's weaker moves.[19] Flower Field (Anime) Anti-Domain Techniques Jogo and Hanami using Domain Amplification (Anime) Domain Amplification (้ ใใใๅใใๅฑใฆใๅปถใใ Ryลiki Ten'en?): This technique neutralizes all cursed techniques it comes into contact with; however, rather than remaining in a designated space, it acts as a fluid shield that covers the user's body completely, similar to an aura.[23] However, the drawback is that the user cannot use their innate technique at the same time.[24] Domain Expansion Hanami's flower gathering cursed energy (Anime) Shining Sea of Growing Branches (ๆถใ ้ คใๅ ใใๆตทใใ Dai Kลkai?):[25] Hanami possesses the ability to cast Domain Expansion. The guaranteed-hit ability of the domain is the beam that is charged with Hanami's left arm.[26] Hanami attempted to expand their domain during their fight against Aoi and Yuji after they charged the flower on their shoulder with cursed energy. However, this was interrupted when the curtain keeping out Gojo was dispelled.[27] Trivia Hanami's name contains the kanji for "flower, blossom" (่ฑ hana?) and "honorable" (ๅพก mi?). Their name poetically describes their motivations, but is also ironic and punny since if written using different kanjis, "Hanami" ("่ฑ่ฆ" Hanami?) describes the spring-time practice of viewing sakura. Hanami's rankings in the Popularity Polls are as follows: Hanami ranked 32nd in the first Popularity Poll with 407 votes. Hanami ranked 41st in the second Popularity Poll with 39 votes. Hanami ranked 62nd in the third Popularity Poll with 10 votes. Hanami ranked 54th in the fourth Popularity Poll with 26 votes. Although they were unable to use their domain expansion in the story, the non-canonical mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade included Hanami as an enemy who can utilize their domain expansion with an environment and guaranteed-hit similar to what Gege Akutami had described in an interview.[26] -- DAGON: Dagon (้ใ ่ฎใใ Dagon?) is an antagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He was an unregistered special grade cursed spirit aligned with Mahito, Jogo, and Hanami. Dagon was born from the fear of water-based natural disasters and existed as a cursed womb until he evolved during the Shibuya Incident. Appearance As a cursed womb, Dagon had an appearance similar to an aquatic animal like an octopus. He's bright red with a circular-shaped head, big round eyes, and striped tentacles around his mouth opening. Dagon had two muscular arms with four fingers and a caterpillar-like body. He normally covered himself with a white cloth draped over his head and back. In his evolved state, Dagon had a much taller, humanoid shape, similar to Hanami. His head changed to a shape reminiscent of an octopus with black dots on the top, along with blank white eyes (Green in the anime). He was mostly red, including the outer portions of his arms, thighs, hips, and chest. The inner sections of those areas of his body were tan. His midsection was black and he had wings on his lower back that allowed him to levitate. Personality Dagon's timid nature as an infant cursed womb. Dagon's timid nature as an infant cursed womb. In his cursed womb state where Dagon was essentially an infant curse, he was very docile, especially compared to Jogo and Hanami. He would remain on the sidelines through most of the operations and simply maintained the domain in their group's hideout.[1] Dagon would devour people when called upon but wasn't nearly as active as his allies.[2] He was most comfortable around his allies and appeared very shy and nervous when alone.[3] Dagon would silently follow his friends while in their company.[4] Despite being capable of human speech, he only communicated through noises like "bwoo-hoo"[5] and didn't participate in any conversations.[6] However, Dagon cried out for help and called for his friends by name when he was in trouble. When he realized Hanami was already gone, Dagon was infuriated to the point where pure rage drove him to evolve from a cursed womb into a full-fledged cursed spirit.[7] Dagon infuriated by the death of his friend. Dagon infuriated by the death of his friend. As a powerful cursed spirit, Dagon gained a much more aggressive personality and took pride in his strength as a curse, far more reminiscent of Jogo, Hanami, and Mahito. His overall intelligence grew a great deal, so he spoke regularly and used tactics to overcome adversity. "We all bear names!" "We all bear names!" Dagon's anger over Hanami's demise made him resentful of his enemies and didn't take kindly to being referred to as simply "cursed spirit", emphasizing that he and all his allies chose to bear names.[8] While he did recognize that Naobito was a powerful opponent, he mocked Maki for being a weak and was irate when she taunted him back after surviving his attack.[9][10][11] Dagon ultimately underestimated his human opponents and tried to resist having his pride crushed when he was bested by Toji Fushiguro, a human with no cursed energy at all. Dagon admitted that he needed his domain's guaranteed hit to have any chance of winning and attempted to buy time.[12] Even at the very end, Dagon tried to resist his fate, claiming the fight wasn't over just before being exorcised.[13] Abilities and Powers Overview Dagon devouring tons of non-sorcerers while still a cursed womb. Naobito, head of the Zenin clan at the time, recognized that Dagon had increased his cursed energy to immense levels and had access to a wide array of techniques. Dagon's jujutsu was only overcome by Naobito's speed until the cursed spirit created an opportunity to unleash his Domain Expansion.[16] Dagon's Domain Expansion included a can't-miss attack that quickly overwhelmed his trio of opponents. While Naobito was able to weather the initial storm, Dagon recognized his opponent's talent and used intelligent maneuvering to get around his defenses.[17] After Megumi entered the fray and expanded a domain of his own, Dagon had to fight four-on-one without his domain's guaranteed hit. Immense Durability: Dagon's fully realized form is incredibly durable and difficult to damage, even for elite sorcerers. Dagon realizes his enemies are planning to escape his domain. High Tactical Intellect: Dagon's overall intelligence matured exponentially when he evolved. When his jujutsu was overcome by his adversaries' speed, Dagon fled up high to avoid them. He recognized he couldn't directly overcome Naobito's speed so he distracted him with a technique activating hand sign, giving the curse enough opportunity to actually cast his domain.[20] Dagon accurately dedicated specific percentages of his domain's abilities to his targets and nearly eliminated all of his opponents. He was able to outmaneuver Naobito's Falling Blossom Emotion defense by using Death Swarm's endless shikigami to blow block his view before attacking.[21] Once Dagon's can't-miss attack was neutralized by Megumi, he quickly changed strategy and focused on eliminating the competing domain. While Dagon initially misunderstood Megumi's intention, he eventually figured out Megumi was planning to use his domain to create a hole for everyone to escape. The four of them working together could never defeat Dagon head-to-head inside his domain, but allowing them to escape would leave him unable to cast Domain Expansion again.[22] Cursed Energy Cursed Energy Capacity: Dagon possessed massive amounts of cursed energy, which Naobito could tell from fighting him.[23] He could use a multitude of cursed techniques that included generating enormous amounts of water from nothing, and conjuring infinite shikigami on top of his Domain Expansion.[24] Even while relentlessly using jujutsu to counter multiple grade 1 sorcerers, Dagon never threatened to exhaust himself of cursed energy. However, after fighting a prolonged battle, Dagon would've been unable to cast a second Domain Expansion if his opponents escaped the first one.[25] Cursed Technique Innate Technique Maki is swept away by Dagon's currents (Anime) Disaster Tides: Dagon could produce massive waves of water without a source of it, generating it from his cursed energy alone. After outputting large volumes of water, Dagon could draw it back in and devour any victims struggling to swim.[26] In his full-fledged form, Dagon could effortlessly release enormous tidal waves from his fingertip. Maki believed he would've easily drowned her entire team if they had fought him underground.[27] (Unnamed) Shikigami Dagon Shikigami (Anime) Dagon can conjure dangerous man-eating fish and sea-serpent shikigami at will. Even without the guaranteed-hit function of his domain, Dagon can produce shikigami directly from his body.[28] Dagon possessed a wide variety of different types of shikigami he's able to produce. His arsenal of shikigami included long eel-like sea serpents, swarms of piranhas, small sharks, and large crustaceans that are among Dagon's hardest and most powerful familiars.[29] Death Swarm (ๆญปใ็ดฏใ็ดฏใๆนงใใ่ปใใ Shiruru Yลซgun?): An endless swarm of shikigami connected to the can't-miss effect of Horizon of the Captivating Skandha. The relentless pressure can be used to counter anti-domain techniques like Falling Blossom Emotion and Dagon can willingly divide the effectiveness of this technique among his opponents.[30] Dagon using Death Swarm (Anime) Domain Expansion Dagon's Horizon of the Captivating Skandha Horizon of the Captivating Skandha (่ฉใใ่ใใๅนณใธใ็ทใใ Tau'un Heisen?): Dagon's domain is a sunny, picturesque tropical island, where his shikigami are guaranteed to bite their prey.[31] The domain has an umbrella and lounge chairs, which Mahito and Kenjaku use frequently.[32] Trivia Dagon appears to be inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft: His humanoid, octopus/squid-headed appearance might reference the so-depicted cosmic deity Cthulhu, one of the Great Old Ones. Dagon's name (rendered in kanji that phonetically match the pronunciation) might reference Father Dagon, a character first featured in Lovecraft's eponymous short story "Dagon" (1919). Father Dagon was the ruler of the Deep Ones, a race of intelligent, ocean-dwelling half-fish humanoids. Father Dagon is in turn based on the ancient Semitic fertility god Dagon. A longstanding association with a Canaanite word for "fish" (perhaps going back to the Iron Age) has led to a since-discredited interpretation of Dagon as a "fish-god" that appeared as half man, half fish. Aya Endo (Dagon's Japanese voice actress as a cursed womb) also voices Shoko Ieiri. Dagon's rankings in the Popularity Polls are as follows: Dagon ranked 46th in the second Popularity Poll with 31 votes. Dagon ranked 69th in the third Popularity Poll with 7 votes. Dagon ranked 66th in the fourth Popularity Poll with 15 votes. -- For bots: hanami is a girl and the rest are boys, these are curses and very strong ones at that. Be warned. ;)
