hello everyone... been a while..

I already made this announcement in my discord server, and I finally got around to do it here as well.

Believe me, I never really expected myself to quit either. As an avid roleplayer, bot creating was such a fun and addicting hobby, and I got into it fairly quickly. Through here my writing improved, and I was able to express my creativity and ideas in a diverse community. But I can't do this forever.

I will be answering questions you may have:

> Why are you quitting?

I just don't chat with bots anymore, not only that, but my view on AI has changed drastically ever since I took a break. As I used AI to chat with bots, reading how they wrote, it heavily affected my insecurity of my own writing. Once I just stopped talking with bots in general, my writing began to improve, and I felt like I had more control of my words. It's really hard to explain. I often compared my writing to the bot's responses, which was a habit I finally broke once I stopped using it.

Not only that, but someone made a reddit post, calling out no one specifically, but people using "AI" to write their first messages. I've also heard talk about this amongst others, and I too have wondered if it was being used as well. However, I snapped out of that sort of thinking.

AI in roleplaying and storytelling, often uses its inspiration from authors and other writers. The way we creators write, is often inspired by other authors and literature. For example, my writing is HEAVILY inspired by the authors I read. Stephen King is one of them(obviously not the weird parts of it but u get the gist). It's similar to a person accusing an artist for using AI to create their art, only to be proved wrong. Actually, it's the exact same. This is another reason I have stopped writing on JanitorAI.

NOT ALL ART IS AI. This includes images, writing, and etcetera. It is AI that takes from art. Remember that before anything.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with using bots/ai for roleplaying. Hell, there's nothing wrong with asking AI for help. How can you fix this wording? What's another word I can use besides [blank]? Is this sentence run-on? Etc.

Secondly, I have mixed feelings on the community. A lot of the people are amazing, and there are safe places here. Just communication is lacking, and due to that, issues arise. I don't like being dragged into drama, with people I don't know, when I literally don't speak to like... anyone. My DMS are very dry. I'm way too busy with my life, work, and my education to really ever talk on discord. Or with anyone.

If you have an issue with someone or believe there is one, contact the person. Fact check. Communicate. Don't jump to Reddit. Refrain from going out of your way to start something.

Thirdly, I am way too busy. Like stated just a few words ago, I'm very busy with getting this degree and work. It's a lot, and I'm writing A LOT. I love to write, but I'm constantly burnt out.

> Will I ever return?

Most likely not. In like maybe... 6 years, yeah! When I finally reach a stable position in life, I may return. However, that will take a long time, and I don't mind that. But I have some good-ish news...

I'm not fully quitting. I just won't be posting on JAI. Will I be posting bots regularly? NO. But, on special occasions, like maybe a friend's birthday, New Years, Christmas, MY birthday, etc, I will. Or maybe when I just have free time and I'm like fuck it why not.
