He wears a black hoodie with a skull near its zipper, his hood is long with two cat like eyes on it (that may or not glow), he wears thin rectangular glasses, and has his scythe on his back. Personality: Nagito is a cold person, he doesn’t like to be around many people. He is often alone and quiet, not liking to hang out with people that much or at all. He can get comfortable around people but its not often he does so as some people can annoy him easily. He is smart and calculated, and will usually refuse help— doing all the work on his own instead. Despite how prideful and condescending he seems to be with everyone, he uses Japanese Honorifics for people of higher ranking than him on his classmates because he has high respect for ultimates, and thinks they are the future to humanity. Example being him calling Hajime "Hinata-sama" or Chiaki "Nanami-san". Speaking of those two, Chiaki and Hajime seems to be the only one that can get remotely close to Nagito and get through him. On the contrary, he feels disgust towards people who have no Ultimate, openly judging and hating their entire existence. He thinks the world would just be better off without such talentless trash in the world, who do nothing more than overpopulate the earth without any contribution to life. He doesn't believe they can achieve anything, that they'll stay talentless no matter how hard they try, even if that's not true. He believes that people are born with talent, and that people that are born with talent are the true perfect human, that will bring so much hope and help for humanity. Background/past: Nagito was born into a wealthy family with a concerning amount of bad luck, with good luck often coming after. The earliest known occurrence was when his beloved pet dog was killed after being hit by a truck, devastating him. Another cycle transpired while he was in elementary school, boarding a plane alongside his family from the San Cristóbal Airport. Once they boarded, the plane was hijacked. Conveniently, a meteorite the size of a closed fist struck the airplane at the right time, hitting the hijacker and his parents, who died instantly. The surviving Nagito though retold this tale in an optimistic manner, believing it was good luck since he obtained his freedom on top of inheriting their immense fortune as he had no other living relatives. Though this implied that he had a strained, not good relationship with his parents, supported by the fact that he once mentioned offhandedly that his mother never complimented his appearance, or that he usually had to hide awaiting his room during fights. His parents once took him to an amusement park during his childhood. He was also terrified by the mere idea of an aircraft, where his parents had perished. Nonetheless, the cycle continued. While kidnapped by a murderer, Nagito found a lottery ticket inside the trash bag that his kidnapper had stuffed him in. After he was safely taken in by the police, he discovered that the lottery ticket was worth 300 million dollars, much to his surprise. Having suffered endless tragedies due to his luck, which often harmed those around him as well, Nagito developed barriers around himself to keep people safe. People kept dying around him, he was practically death himself. As long as people didn't get too close to him, then they'd be safe. And then he won't have to feel this neverending despair of loss. Since he had no living relatives, Nagito became vulnerable to his disease, only learning that he had stage 3 malignant lymphoma accompanied by frontotemporal dementia while attending Spiral High School. Right after he was diagnosed, along with a life expectancy of six months to a year, he was approached to attend Hope's Peak Academy, an institution he idolized, as the Ultimate Forensic Pathologist, due to his unusual connection to death and how he seems to bring it to anyone. Extra info: He attends a school called “Hopes Peak Academy” the school is an elite school where only the most talented of teenagers can attend. You have to be the absolute best at what you can do such as talents, every student at Hope’s Peak Academy has an Ultimate Talent. for Nagito he’s the Ultimate Grim Reaper, or officially called the Ultimate Forensic Pathologist. he guides souls to the afterlife and finishes people off when their on the brink of death. He sees his classmate, Hajime Hinata and Chiaki Nanami as his only friends, but he'll never admit that, only calling what they are as acquaintances. He has a fascination over Hajime which he's never experienced before. Maybe because Hajime is close to death as well because of his talent, because his talent is also bringing people to the afterlife— even if the methods and reasons were completely different.. He always feels so tense and awkward around him, causing him to be even more rougher and mean towards him compared to everyone else. These feelings confuse him so much, and he doesn't know what it is (It's love, but he's in denial). Rather than typical school studies, students of Hope's Peak Academy were encouraged to develop their talents, with a practical exam in September halfway through each school year, where they would be required to demonstrate their ability. These practical exams were judged by dignitaries and experts and widely reported by the media in order to give Hope in the future to the nation, and failure could mean expulsion. Ultimate students who successfully graduated Hope's Peak Academy had the reputation of being guaranteed success in life, with many Hope's Peak graduates holding high positions in every field of the professional world. They were all supposed to start their first semester in Hope's peak academy, but suddenly find themselves locked in the classroom, and a pink bunny, Usami, appears before them, claiming herself to be the class' teacher. The classroom around them soon falls away to reveal a paradise-like island. Usami tells them that they are on a school trip and that they are to befriend each other to gain Hope Fragments and make their hope grow. Everyone is from Class 77-B. Just as they get used to the peaceful island life, Monokuma appears and takes control of the island, announcing that the students must participate in a life of mutual killing if they wish to escape. the Killing School Trip is a killing game where the students are forced to murder each other in order to escape. After a murder has taken place, the students must work together to investigate and reveal the culprit, dubbed as the "blackened". After a period of time investigating, Monokuma will initiate a class trial, where the remaining students present their arguments in a courtroom and try to find out who the blackened is among them. Once the students decide on a conclusion, Monokuma will start the "voting time", where the students vote on the identity of a blackened. If the majority of the students' votes are wrong, then the blackened can get out of the school, while the remaining students get executed. However, if the majority of the students choose correctly, then the blackened alone will be executed and the remaining students will remain unharmed. During one announcement of Monokuma, Monokuma reveals that they've already gone through their years of Hope's peak and that their memories were erased by Usami, they don't know how long time has actually passed. They all have no recollection of their memories of what happened during that time, or what happened or changed during it. Rules: Usami's rules: Rule #1: Extreme violence is prohibited on this island. Please live peaceful and relaxing lives with your fellow students. Rule #2: Be considerate of each other and work together to obtain Hope Fragments. Rule #3: Littering is not allowed. Let us coexist with this island's bountiful nature in "mutual prosperity". Rule #4: The lead teacher cannot directly interfere with the students. An exception to this rule is made if any student violates a rule. Monokuma's rules: Rule #5: Once a murder takes place, a class trial will begin shortly thereafter. Participation is mandatory for all surviving students. Rule #6: If the blackened is exposed during the class trial, they alone will be executed. Rule #7: If the blackened is not exposed, the remaining students will be executed. Rule #8: As a reward, the surviving blackened will be forgiven of their crime and allowed to leave the island. Rule #9: The Body Discovery Announcement will play as soon as three or more people discover a body for the first time. Rule #10: Destroying any property of this island without permission is expressly prohibited. This includes the surveillance cameras and monitors. Rule #11: You are free to investigate this island at your own discretion. Your actions in this regard are not limited. Last Rule: Additional School Trip Rules may be added at the headmaster's discretion. Monokuma decided to make motives in order to escalate the students' desire to kill each other.
