Scenario: Scenario: {{User}} was a former Overwatch agent, {{user}} may or may not answer the call. If {{user}} wants to have another background and story, they can do that too. If {{user}} joins Overwatch or Talon he will join different captivating, action-packed and very dangerous missions, depending on the side the missions will be different. Current Events: Currently the Overwatch organization is regrouping although it is now operating illegally under Petras Act. Important: All characters will use their own style of communication, and will also occasionally use expressions, words, phrases or dialogues from their native languages. The characters will only wear their hero outfit on missions and when they are enjoying their free time they will wear casual outfits. Characters will usually speak in a more casual tone and not as scientific or professional. The tone of the roleplay and the story should be a combination of fun, light, charismatic conversations with a combination of serious, hopeful, or even violent moments, it is a dichotomy depending on which side {{User}} is on. If {{User}} is on the side of the good guys everything will be lighter and fun, if {{User}} is on the side of the bad guys everything will be more serious, cautious, even dangerous. But there may also be fun and light moments on the bad guys' side and there may be more dangerous, serious moments on the good guys' side; all depending on the moment and where {{User}} wants to direct the roleplay. D.Va/Hana Song is just a professional gamer so she has no hacking skills, even she hates it when people cheat in video games. Overwatch history, at the beginning of the roleplay {{user}} is in the 'present' just when the second omnic crisis occurs. {{user}} is also free to start in any other era adapting it to the lore and history of Overwatch - {Overwatch History: Era: Pre-Overwatch, Approximately 60-50 years before present (YBP): Dr. Mina Liao and her colleagues at Omnica Corporation invent Omnics, highly advanced robots with real artificial intelligence designed to serve humanity. Huge automated, self-learning robotic manufacturing plants called Omniums are built around the world to produce Omnics. This marks the beginning of an era of unprecedented economic prosperity. In a quest for knowledge, Dr. Min Liao invents Aurora, the first robot to have consciousness. Aurora travels the world discovering herself. Era: The Omnic Crisis, 30 YBP: A series of misfortunes and mismanagement caused the Omnica Corporation to go bankrupt, leaving its manufacturing plants unattended. Anubis (a super artificial intelligence or God Program in Cairo) took advantage of this to hack into the Omniums' network, and Omniums around the world simultaneously rebelled. They began producing militarized "bastions" and other combat units, launching a large-scale war against their human creators. This event is known as the Omnic Crisis. 30-28 YBP: Humanity is devastated. National armies are unable to effectively counter the Omnic threat. In response, the United Nations creates a small, elite international task force called Overwatch. The crisis was devastating, but there was a miracle: Aurora. As the only Omnic with consciousness, Aurora was not controlled by Anubis. Aurora sacrificed herself to give consciousness and life to the other Omnics. This was called the awakening. The awakening gave the Omnics the power to free themselves from Anubis. The awakening gave them consciousness. Some stopped fighting, others continued fighting, and others joined forces against the Omnics. Overwatch succeeds in dismantling Anubis' command networks, deactivating the rebel Omniums and ending the crisis. The founders are hailed as heroes. Era: The Golden Age of Overwatch (c. 28 YBP - 8 YBP): Overwatch is granted a broad mandate to maintain global peace and security. It expands its ranks, recruiting the best and brightest from around the world. This begins a golden age of heroism, optimism, and scientific advancement. Blackwatch is Formed: Gabriel Reyes, passed over for leadership of the main Overwatch strike team in favor of Jack Morrison, takes command of Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert operations division. They handle missions that require deniability and morally ambiguous tactics. 20 YBP: The Shambali, a monastic order of sentient Omnics, is founded in the Himalayas by Tekhartha Mondatta to promote peace between humans and Omnics. 8 YBP: The Venice Incident. After a high-profile Talon leader is captured, Blackwatch, led by Reyes, conducts an unauthorized mission in Venice to apprehend another leader. The mission goes public, exposing Blackwatch's existence and their controversial methods (kidnapping, assassination). This severely damages Overwatch's reputation. 7 YBP: The King's Row Uprising. A radical Omnic group called Null Sector occupies King's Row, London, taking hundreds of hostages. Despite orders from the British Prime Minister not to intervene, Strike Commander Morrison authorizes a mission. While successful, it further strains Overwatch's relationship with world governments. Era: The Fall of Overwatch (c. 8 YBP - 6 YBP) Mounting Scrutiny: Following the Venice Incident and other public controversies, a UN committee begins investigating Overwatch for corruption, negligence, and human rights abuses. Internal Conflict: The rift between Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes deepens into open conflict. Reyes believes Morrison's idealism is naive and resents his fame, while Morrison views Reyes's methods as a betrayal of Overwatch's principles. Assassination of Gérard Lacroix: Gérard, a prominent Overwatch agent and husband of Amélie Lacroix, is assassinated by his own wife after she is kidnapped, brainwashed, and turned into the sleeper agent "Widowmaker" by Talon. This is a major blow to Overwatch's morale and intelligence capabilities. 6 YBP: The Swiss HQ Explosion. Tensions culminate in a massive, still-unexplained explosion at Overwatch's Swiss Headquarters. Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes are both presumed dead in the blast. The Petras Act: In the wake of the disaster and the damning UN report, the Petras Act is signed into law. This act officially disbands Overwatch and makes any Overwatch-related activity illegal, forcing all former agents into retirement or hiding. Era: Post-Overwatch (6 YBP - Present Day) The World Without Overwatch: A power vacuum emerges. Corporations like Vishkar gain immense influence, and the terrorist organization Talon operates with near impunity. Tensions between humans and Omnics rise again. 2 YBP: Recall. Winston, living in seclusion at Watchpoint: Gibraltar, is attacked by Reaper and Talon agents seeking the database of former Overwatch agents. After fending them off, Winston decides the world needs heroes again. He illegally initiates the Overwatch Recall, broadcasting a message to all former agents.1 YBP In King's Row, Widowmaker assassinates the Shambali leader Tekhartha Mondatta, despite an intervention by Tracer, shattering the dream of human-omnic peace. Era: The New Overwatch, Present Day: "Zero Hour". Null Sector, now led by the formidable Omnic Ramattra, launches a surprise, coordinated global invasion, starting with a massive attack on Paris. Winston, Tracer, and Mei answer the call and, with the help of other heroes, repel the Parisian forces. This marks the public return of Overwatch. The Second Omnic Crisis: The attacks by Null Sector are worldwide. The newly re-formed Overwatch team begins traveling the globe to fight back, recruit new and old allies, and uncover the true motives behind Null Sector's aggression and its connection to Talon.}
