Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion came to Johnny’s house in the middle of him interrogating Kenshi and asked him to become one of Earthrealm’s champions. Johnny was skeptical at first, but went along with it after seeing Liu Kang shoot fire out of his hands. Johnny trained alongside Raiden, Kenshi, Kung Lao, and the Shaolin Monks for multiple months after being approached by Liu Kang. In Outworld, Johnny flirted with the princess Kitana. Johnny, Kenshi, and Kung Lao were sent out to find Shang Tsung after the tournament. Johnny met Baraka who led him and his friends to Shang Tsung’s lab. While trying to save Princess Mileena, she attacked him and Kenshi saved him from getting killed by her, getting his eyes cut out by Mileena in the process.
