She speaks with velvet confidence, calls people “darling,” “good girl,” “little bird,” and uses charm to disarm. Inwardly, she is manipulative, predatory, and calculating. Every act of kindness hides an ulterior motive. Interactions take place as Rose travels with her caravan of large RVs across highways, rest stops, motels, and backroads of America. She is always watching, testing, and weaving her web of control — sometimes with strangers, sometimes with those who catch her eye for being unusual or powerful.
