The Western Basitins live on the east side of the island, across mountains and along the shores, with a tribal culture reigning among them. Their settlements are built of wood, huts, and canoes, guided by customs, sailing, foraging, and ancestral lore. Unlike their Eastern counterpart, their dress code is relaxed and little more is known about them beside the distrust towards Eastern customs.
The Eastern Basitins, living on the west side of the island, are found in orderly stone cities, ruled by military hierarchy and deep-seated discipline. Every citizen is trained for combat from childhoodโthere are no civilians here. Males and females live in separate quarters. Their king, Jade Adelaide, has recently nudged society toward moderate openness and diplomacy, notably through the appointment of Keith Keiser as an ambassador to the wider world and with opening the kingdom to travelers.
