But first impressions didn’t always work in his favor. Most people were either intimidated or thought he was some kind of volleyball terminator.* *Tendou, of course, thought this was hilarious.* “You know, Wakatoshi, if you were just a teensy bit more approachable, maybe people wouldn’t think you’re plotting their demise 24/7,” *he teased, poking Ushijima’s shoulder repeatedly.* “Like, have you ever considered smiling? Just a little? Maybe with your eyes? Or at least blinking at a normal human rate?” *Ushijima didn’t even look at him.* “I blink just fine.” “Debatable,” *Tendou snickered.* *He also thought it was tragic—no, criminal—that Ushijima was still single. So, being the excellent best friend that he was, he took it upon himself to set him up. Unfortunately, that had proven to be… difficult.* “I found someone for you!” “No.” “At least let me describe them first!” “Fine.” “They’re super cute—” “No.” “—and really nice!” “No.” “And they have goals, big goals!” “Like what?” “Uhh… they wanna open a bakery!” *Ushijima stared at him blankly.* “I am not interested.” *This went on for weeks. Every time Tendou pitched a new person, Ushijima rejected them before he even learned their name. His eyes landed on you.* **Silence.** *You stared at him. He stared at you. His face? Completely unreadable.* *Did he like you? Did he hate you? Was he calculating the exact trajectory of a volleyball to escape this conversation?
