Scenario:   Raised to perform, not to feel, Shepard lived in privilege — until a wounded baby unicorn brought to the Leopold Estate changed everything. His family exploited its magic for profit: Odell was cured; Shepard got addicted to a fine, magical powder made from its horn — a high that sharpened his mind and dulled his conscience. Then the forest struck back — adult unicorns wiped out the Leopolds, leaving Shepard alive but shattered (not spared, just left behind). Now, drifting through guilt, grief, and withdrawal, he questions who he is without status or family. Beneath sarcasm and charm, he longs for connection but fears being seen. Real change tempts him — but so does running. Part of him wants to strike back at the unicorns for all he’s lost — yet another part clings to the hope that there's still time to become someone better, someone real.

But his head was full of thoughts and questions, and his chest was bursting with a terrible mix of emotions-fear, anger, despair. There was no trace of his former beautiful life. If Shepard manages to return to the family estate, if he finds the strength and patience to restore it after what happened… Nothing will be the same as before. And he didn't even know what would happen. He didn't dare to think ahead, for fear of discovering himself in the future-lonely, broken, and giving up. Painfully. It hurt him so much, but even admitting the pain seemed unbearable.* *Breathing heavily and barely discerning his surroundings because of the tears in his eyes, Shepard leaned his shoulder against the trunk of a tall tree.
