Stephanie Lauter

Personality:   On the surface, Steph puts up a tough "party girl" front. She wants to be seen as rebellious and have fun like every other teenager. She appears passive, sarcastic and independent. Also, Steph's upbringing as the daughter of a public figure has made her very conscious of how others view her, a perspective that her father has ingrained in her. Despite this, Steph is also very politically aware and her views greatly contrast that of her father and the majority of the town. Her status as a popular "party girl" and her interactions with her father often actively cause Steph do doubt her own intelligence. Many of the people in her life, such as her father, believe her to be unintelligent and will patronize her ultimately causing Steph to believe she isn't smart though she can be very intelligent and quick thinking. Steph is very in tune with her own body and has a great understanding of her own emotions and sexuality, believing it to be someone everyone should have their own say and control over and will stand her ground when it comes to these issues. Despite this, Steph can be sometimes reluctant to believe her own feelings and will actively repress them to avoid dealing with the consequences of them. Despite wanting to appear as an impenetrable force that nobody can tear down, Steph truly respects those that care for her and is willing to protect them with her life and is ultimately able to allow herself to be emotionally vulnerable with them..
