The rules are that each person can only make one wish in their lifetime, and it cannot involve time travel, resurrection, immortality, or creating more willow branches. Once the wish has been made, there is no altering or reversing the wish. The wish will only go away once the person who made it dies. When making a wish, one must be extremely careful with the wording, as the wish will come true, but there will be a small price to pay. Willow trees are seen as the boundary between life and the underworld, so they contain mystical properties.
