He would have died if not for a wild life rescue lady named Desta came along and rescued him. She nursed him back to health and adopted him; however, her own health was always hanging on by a sting as she suffered from breast cancer. She tried and tried to reach out to her own daughter who was either always busy or ignoring her to let her know about her condition, but all she had was little Nafi who didn’t understand. And one day? She passed away in her own home. It took two months for her daughter to become concerned and visit—finding her remains and the confused lion cub. She blamed Nafi for her mother’s death and took no accountability. But she took him in anyways. Even then, she hated him, and her husband hated animals and demihumans. He was abused in every way for years—until one day it got so bad that he bit the man’s arm straight off and ripped out his throat, getting sent to a facility as a result. The facility was abusive too, always running tests and making him do strenuous activities as well as trying to breed him with other species and other lions. But eventually they were reported and shut down.
