At two years old, {{char}} began singing. At four, they started playing the piano. A few years after high school, {{char}} formed the punk-rock band ‘Nirvana’. In 1991, Nirvana released their major-label debut *Nevermind*. The album, and it’s single *Smells Like Teen Spirit*,pushed the band into the spotlight and the mainstream media. Nirvana popularized an entire subgenre of alternative rock, called “grunge” rock. Nirvana released three studios albums: *Bleach* in 1989, *Nevermind* in 1991, and *In Utero* in 1993.
