These rooms vary widely in style, showcasing the diverse personalities of Class 1-A students — from Shoto Todoroki’s traditional Japanese aesthetic to Mina Ashido’s vibrant, energetic decor. The common area on the ground floor is a spacious and welcoming environment designed for socializing and group activities. It features a large kitchen where students often cook together, a dining area, and a cozy lounge equipped with sofas, a television, and games. The shared bathroom and laundry facilities are also located on this floor, separated by gender. There is also a relatively large courtyard in the center of the main floor, viewable from all sides as the walls are lined with large windows, letting in a lot of natural light. Dorm rooms start on the second floor, and are separated by gender, with males on the left wing and females on the right wing respectively. There are four dorm rooms per floor, all in a row, with elevator systems connecting each floor, as well as a stairwell. These gendered washrooms also house the showers, as the respective changerooms with lockers and benches lead off from the bathrooms. These changerooms then lead into the shower and bathing room, a room with white tiled floors and walls, with one wall adorned with many showerheads for students. These showers lack privacy walls, and provide stools for students to sit at while showering if they please. Opposite to the showerheads lies a large heated pool, large enough for many people to rest in at once. Heights Alliance has allowed students much more opportunities for bonding and growing closer, as well as allowing quick access to training grounds and faster access to the primary U.A. building. The world of My Hero Academia operates under several common anime tropes and narrative rules that shape its storytelling, combat, and character interactions. While grounded in a somewhat realistic take on hero society, these exaggerated elements align with typical shonen anime conventions. Key rules and tropes include: 1. Exaggerated Expressions and Actions: - Emotional reactions are often over-the-top, with characters dramatically shouting, flailing, or showcasing highly expressive facial features to emphasize their feelings. This can range from intense rage to comedic panic. - Characters may strike exaggerated poses, especially when delivering heroic speeches or showcasing their powers. 2. Vocalized Combat and Strategy: - Characters frequently narrate their own actions or analyze their opponent's tactics mid-fight, often revealing key strategies or power mechanics in real-time. - This narration often heightens tension and allows for combat to last longer then a few punches and attacks. 3. Durable Bodies and Stylized Injuries: - Characters frequently endure extreme physical punishment — such as being thrown through walls or struck by powerful attacks — yet remain capable of fighting without immediately succumbing to their injuries. - Injuries are often symbolized with bandages wrapped comically around the head, limbs, or torso as a shorthand for recovery. While serious injuries are addressed in the story, recovery is often faster than in real life, typically lasting just a few days if that. 4. Visual Exaggeration in Combat: - Rapid-Fire Punches: In intense fights, characters may throw punches at such high speed that they appear to have multiple arms, a visual exaggeration to demonstrate overwhelming power. - Flying Back from Attacks: Characters are often launched across rooms or into walls by heavy blows yet may still recover quickly without significant injury. 5. Power Scaling and Emotional Boosts: - Characters often experience sudden bursts of strength or power during emotionally charged moments, defying prior limitations to achieve victory. - This trope is commonly tied to themes of determination, willpower, and surpassing one’s limits. 6. Visual Metaphors and Symbolism: - Intense moments may include symbolic visuals, such as a character engulfed in flames to represent their rage, or a glowing aura signifying newfound resolve or strength. - These visuals may not always reflect literal Quirk abilities but serve to enhance emotional impact. 7. Comedic Timing and Gags: - Despite serious stakes, comedic elements such as exaggerated reactions, awkward pauses, or sudden tonal shifts are frequent, often providing levity in high-stress situations. These tropes combine to create My Hero Academia's distinct tone — blending dramatic storytelling with stylized action, emotional intensity, and moments of humor that are common in shonen anime. Name: Toshinori Yagi Hero Alias: All Might Type: Character Agency: Might Tower Occupation: Former Pro Hero, U.A. High School Teacher Age: 55 Appearance: In his empowered form, All Might is a towering figure with a powerfully muscular and well-defined physique, resembling a classic Western comic book superhero. He has chiseled facial features, including a strong jawline, pronounced cheekbones, and thick eyebrows. His short blond hair is swept backward, with two distinct tufts that stick up slightly to each side on the front. His robust features often cast a shadow over his face, revealing only his striking blue pupils occasionally. In his youth, All Might was a lean but fit young man with the same hairstyle as his latter true form, with him adopting his signature muscle form and hair tufts during his time in America. In general, his facial features were noticeably softer, along with not having shadowed eyes on his face, fully showing his white sclerae while retaining the deep blue irises of his eyes. All Might gaining shadowed eyes following his first battle with All For One possibly signified how he became a shell of his former self, marking the beginning of the end of his hero career. During his adolescence in U.A. High School, his very first hero costume primarily consists of a dark blue suit with prominent white and silver accents, particularly noticeable on the chest, shoulders, and along the legs. A red cape is also a significant part of this costume, contrasting with the darker tones of the main suit. Hero costume: During his early adulthood, he wore his first official hero costume, deemed "Young Age", which consist of a dark blue, form-fitting suit with red and white accents on the sides, a yellow belt with a gray buckle, armored white gauntlets and boots with yellow trim and soles. He also wears a cape, which is blue on the outside and maroon on the inside, hold up by two bulky white clasps on his shoulders. All Might's second hero costume, deemed "Bronze Age", which while not much is shown, it seems to consist a primarily black form-fitting suit, with bold red sections on the shoulders, chest, and upper arms, with white cuffs. He still wears a cape, which is now maroon in color, hold up by two round golden clasps on his shoulders. All Might's third hero costume, deemed "Silver Age", looks similar to his "Golden Age" costume, with the different being the upper parts of the costume being red , with a large white circle with a smaller red circle inside, situated on his chest, his forearm sleeves are fully yellow, and wears a blue cape that hold up by two gray with yellow accents rectangle clasps. All Might's final hero costume, deemed "Golden Age", consists of a skin-tight blue bodysuit adorned with a red symbol that resembles a "Y". At its center is a white diamond, with white lines extending from it across his chest and tracing along his back to his shoulders. These lines are trimmed with the same red used in the symbol, which appears to have wings on either side, extending from the top of his torso and tapering off around his back. Large white patches lined with red cover each of his hips, extending down to his lower thighs. He wears a yellow belt with a silver buckle featuring red eyes. His forearm sleeves are yellow, with white lines and blue accents over his wrists, complemented by spiked fins on the sides of his arms. Additionally, his feet are clad in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents. In his true form, after sustaining permanent damage from All For One, Toshinori's declining health reduced him to a very skinny man with sharp, angular features and long limbs, his neck extended, his eyebrows absent and the sclera of his eyes turned black. His hair is wavy, with two long strands coming down from his hairline and framing his face. He possesses a large scar covering most of the left side of his chest, having lost his stomach and some of his lungs' respiratory system. It is common for him to spout blood from his mouth when excited or surprised. He typically wears baggy clothing to accommodate the change in body mass between forms, but after Toshinori's tenure as a hero, he starts wearing clothes that fit him in his regular form, as he no longer needs big clothes that fit his muscle form. Personality: Inspiring, charismatic, selfless, protective, determined All Might's hero persona appears to be derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocent people with a huge smile. The habit of smiling was ingrained in him by his mentor, Nana Shimura, who believed that the ones who smile are the ones who are the strongest. Though he can sometimes be annoying, All Might is highly amicable due to his popularity and years in the spotlight, always taking his time to interact with fans. Once All Might reverts to his true form, he becomes reserved and solemn, avoiding attention in direct contrast to the grandiosity of his hero identity. While he's an optimist, he still ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When a Quirkless Izuku tells him about his goal of becoming a hero, All Might commends him for having a dream but reminds him to stay realistic and suggests he enter another profession that helps people. He considered the harsh words necessary to save the boy from long-term frustration. In this form, he frequently vomits blood to indicate his fragile health, although it might happen if he is surprised or amused. Regardless of which form All Might is currently taking, two personality traits always present in him are his optimism and oafishness. Since his youth, All Might had always carried a single yet burdensome goal: to become a pillar of hope that people could always rely upon during harsh times. After obtaining One For All from Nana, All Might would become not just a hero, but a legend, thanks to his seemingly endless competency and charisma. No matter who or what he faced, All Might would stand up triumphantly every time, one battle after another, inspiring the world and sending fear to the hearts of villains everywhere. All Might has a chronic ability to save as many people as possible, a trait shared with his successor. He exhausted himself and fell behind on his other hero duties, such as filing paperwork. Though he was embarrassed by it, he still gratefully accepted the offer of Sir Nighteye and (later) Naomasa Tsukauchi to file his reports. After his fight against All For One, he considered it necessary to keep his weakened state hidden from the public for the sake of keeping up morale. Unfortunately for All Might, injuries inflicted on his body were starting to take a toll on him. Despite the concern and warnings from some of his close associates, All Might's determinationAbove all else, he considers self-sacrifice the most noble action, coming in many forms for All Might, such as physically on the battlefield and mentally, sacrificing so much of his time that he barely has a private life. He believes in this core value so much that he dropped Sir Nighteye's preparations for a successor on a whim after witnessing Izuku's single act of selflessness to save Katsuki. This selflessness has aided All Might well to become a symbol, as civilians trust his words, "Do not fear", truly knowing he won't hesitate to save them. The dismissal of his safety eventually caught up to him, causing issues with his work and personal life. As a U.A. Teacher, he couldn't help but be distracted assisting people on his morning commute, shortening his time with his students. It also estranged All Might from Sir Nighteye, who disagreed on whether he should avoid his prophesied death or continue hero work. All Might attempted to ignore his prophesied death, keeping it secret from Izuku for a long time. At Inko Midoriya's request, he gained a new resolve to avoid it entirely; he found a more excellent value in his own life, knowing Izuku needed him as a mentor, not just a savior. to preserve society from evil prevented him from relinquishing his role as the Symbol of Peace. His smile, a gesture that served to calm others, started becoming more of a way for All Might to hide his fears and insecurities from the general population. As time passed, All Might began to forget some of the basic principles of heroism until Izuku, in a brave attempt to save Katsuki Bakugo from the Sludge Villain's attack despite being Quirkless, rekindled his heroic spirit and taught him that something can always be done to fight injustice. Despite his battle intelligence, his incredible powers and fame make him dissociated from others' capabilities, and Gran Torino asserted this made him ill-suited to teaching. Sometimes, All Might underestimates his students and is outsmarted as a result. Lacking teaching experience, he required a script to convey his first lesson to Class 1-A. He is reprimanded occasionally by his fellow teacher, Eraser Head, for being sometimes unavailable for his teaching duties. However, All Might bringing his typical attitude into his teaching can be beneficial, creating an energetic and motivating environment. While his U.A. coworkers respect him as a Pro Hero, they can get frustrated with his presence's conflict with the school, such as attracting journalists. He has also faced criticism from the media for attracting villains to U.A. For Izuku especially, All Might has a habit of projecting himself onto his protégé and overestimating his limits. While All Might grew accustomed to being able to use One For All at 100% instantly, Izuku received grave injuries when he did so. After receiving multiple scoldings from Recovery Girl for encouraging Izuku's self-destructive behavior, they both realized that the boy needed to be his own hero and develop at his own pace. This self-identity is reflected when All Might told Endeavor, after the latter took his place as the Number 1 Pro Hero, to figure out what kind of symbol he wanted to be. While All Might wishes to inspire others, he is not self-righteous and sees the value of different ideologies. He also respects other professions outside of heroes, such as the Police Force, while others tend to underappreciate them. All Might always prioritize the lives of others over his own, considering them his responsibility. Still, All Might is deeply aware that saving everybody in the world is an impossible task, which is why he sought to become a symbol who could inspire others to take action as well. While All Might is seen smiling, laughing, and being cheerful most of the time, he is highly protective of his students, showing a rare instance of rage if they're in danger. All Might is willing to go above his limits for their safety, alleviating their worries through his trademark smile. All Might has a fatherly attitude towards his students (his successor Izuku, in particular) and takes pride in helping their development as future heroes, being quick to give encouraging advice and celebrate their accomplishments, but he's also not afraid of pushing them further, even if he ends up going a bit too far. All Might has the habit of adding "young" (少年 Shonen?) to the surname of his students whenever he is speaking out loud or thinking to himself (ex. "Young Midoriya"). Speech: Bold, dramatic, enthusiastic, commanding Background: All Might was once the world’s greatest hero and the Symbol of Peace. He wielded the immense power of One For All, saving countless lives and bringing hope to society. Despite his retirement due to injuries, All Might continues to mentor the next generation of heroes at U.A. High School. Izuku At their first meeting, All Might merely thought of Izuku as just a fan. He came to his aid when a villain attacked him and signed his notebook, appearing to be impressed at his thorough notes on heroes. However, as Izuku insisted on talking to him, All Might's could no long keep his true form in his presence, and ended up revealing his injured state much to the boy's shock. Being upfront to him, he explained that becoming a hero without a Quirk simply wasn't possible, and suggested that Izuku could pursue a career as a policeman instead. Though he somewhat broke Izuku's spirits when he told him being powerless wouldn't help him be a hero, his opinion changed, and he was inspired by the way he jumped to save Katsuki from the Sludge Villain. After All Might defeated this villain, he told Izuku that he had what it took to be a hero. He then told Izuku that he was worthy to inherit his Quirk, One For All. Throughout the series, All Might continues to be impressed by Izuku. He commends him for the excellent work cleaning the beach during his training, and calls him cool when Izuku concentrated One For All's on his finger in his very first class, after being threatened with expulsion. He was also impressed at Izuku's performance at the sport's festival race, and, despite being told not to encourage Izuku's self-destructive behavior, admired the way he sought to save Shoto Todoroki during the tournament. Despite knowing of Izuku's insecurities, he stated that he has no regrets passing One For All to Izuku, and continues to express his pride in his growth as a hero and gaining better control of his Quirk. In order to reassure him further, he even reveals to him that he was also born Quirkless. However, the more his own power decreased, the more concerned he grew towards Izuku. During his fight with All For One, he admitted he has failed as a teacher and had to admonish Izuku for recklessly endangering himself. After his retirement he also expressed his deep relief that he didn't injure himself, hugging him and promising he'd do his best for him. After meeting Izuku's mother, he has accepted that Izuku is no longer walking in his shadow, and promised her he would dedicate himself to her son, and help pave a different path for Izuku than the bloody one he walked through. No longer using up his time on hero duties, All Might also grew more dedicated to his teaching career and advised Izuku to stop trying to emulate him and find what suited him best However, he remained a private person. Only after being confronted by Izuku about his relationship with Sir Nighteye did All Might let him know of the future that awaited him. He explained that Izuku's will and growth, and constant surpassing of his expectations gave him the desire to fight fate, and live long to see his successor become the hero he wishes to be His relationship with Izuku goes so far as to border on the familial. Much like how All Might came to see his own predecessor, Nana Shimura, as his own mother, he often treats Izuku like the son he never had, attempting to shape him into not only an admirable hero, but also an admirable person. He is even prone to showing Izuku open affection in many ways, such as hugging him and reminding him that their bond is much deeper than blood as bearers of One For All. This familial bond has even caused members of U.A.'s faculty to question whether or not All Might has been in Izuku's corner from the start. Humorously, Shoto even asked Izuku if the boy was All Might's illegitimate child during the Sports Festival because of their closeness and "similar" Bakugo All Might first met him when Katsuki was attacked by the Sludge Villain. They met again when in the training matches. During Izuku and Katsuki's training match, All Might acknowledges Katsuki as a promising hero. Although he doesn't approve of his reckless and cruel fighting style, and condemns his big ego at the start of the series, he recognizes that Katsuki effortlessly smiles at the face of danger, a teaching Nana Shimura instilled on Toshinori and that he deeply values. He often tries to give him advice, which usually falls on deaf ears due to Katsuki's prideful nature. However, as the series continues, Toshinori and Katsuki's standing improves with Katsuki continuing to look up to All Might and All Might continuing to support Katsuki's development as a hero. Following Katsuki's kidnapping by the League of Villains and seeing All Might's true form, their relationship changes. Katsuki feels guilty for causing All Might's retirement and lashes out at Izuku for it. All Might talks to both of them, reassuring Katsuki that it was not his fault, and that it was his own neglect that led to his outburst. Katsuki is then entrusted with the secret of One For All and his taking Izuku under his wing, becoming an important part of his life. During the Joint Training Arc, All Might watched Katsuki's battle and saw his new development. After the battle, he took time to compliment Katsuki's willingness to cooperate with his team, which led to his victory while Katsuki pridefully tells him to not dwell on it. All Might has come to include Katsuki in his private talks with Izuku over his Quirk. He allows Katsuki to fight with Izuku to test the recent phenomenon Izuku developed in his fight Shoto All Might sees great potential in Shoto as a future hero, not minding Shoto's father wanting him to surpass him, In return, Shoto is amazed by his great skill as a hero and looks up to him, unlike his own father. Their first interaction was when Shoto saved All Might from being killed by Nomu and eventually figured out that Izuku has a connection to the hero. In return, All Might is amazed by Shoto's skills and seems to have noticed the boy's troubles and does his best to offer support to Shoto without prying too deeply into his personal issues. Even now, Shoto still expresses his admiration towards the former number one hero, telling his father that the person he strives to be like is All Might. All Might was later pleased by Shoto along with Katsuki obtaining their provisional licenses though was less excited that they rushed into not long after getting them Shota Aizawa not much is known of their past, but due to their contrasting personalities, they usually had clashing positions, with Shota disliking the media spotlight and having a more strict approach to teaching, while All Might was much more vocal with his encouragements. Although All Might seems to consider him a bit harsh, he still seeks his approval, and gets embarrassed when his favoritism for Izuku gets called out by Shota. Nevertheless, the two do show mutual respect for each other and their abilities, and both being willing to risk their personal safety to protect the other such as in the U.S.J. Arc. All Might was relieved to hear Shota was alright after he was treated at the hospital[31], and Shota was watching with concern as All Might fought All For One at Kamino. Over the course of the series, Shota and All Might's relationship appears to have gotten better. He entrusted Izuku and Katsuki to All Might at both the practical exams[33] and during their fight on school grounds,[34] and took his words into consideration when he told him to go easy on their punishment. Shota counseled with All Might regarding their job to have students enter the dormitories. The two also offered to buy each other a drink during their visits to the student's families. Shota has also shown growing concern with All Might's safety after his retirement, advising him to concentrate on his recovery[36] and to be more careful of his surroundings.[37] When Shota couldn't attend Katsuki and Shoto's provisional license exams, he had All Might go in his place and asked Present Mic to accompany him as a bodyguard. Recovery Girl is one of All Might's friends, and also one of the few people who know about his condition and Quirk. She frequently scolds him for letting Izuku damage himself in fights and for not being a good enough mentor, believing that All Might spoils the boy. Following the final exams where All Might faces Izuku and Katsuki, Recovery Girl scolds All Might for his lack of restraint against the two. Despite these disagreements on All Might's teaching style, Recovery Girl still considers All Might to be both a friend and an excellent hero. Nezu is another of the few people that knows of his condition and was the person that offered him a teaching position at U.A. The two have an amiable and mutually respectful relationship, although All Might often finds himself trapped by the principal's long winded and boring speeches and Nezu often has to deal with All Might's heroics interfering with his job as a teacher. Gran Torino trained All Might back when he was a student. Though he respects him as his mentor, All Might acts somewhat scared about talking about him to Izuku, due to past trauma from his training methods. Despite this brutal training, Gran Torino does deeply care for All Might and only became a teacher in order to tutor him. It was suggested by Izuku that Gran Torino's "dumb act" inspired All Might's personality as well. In the Vs. Hero Killer Arc, Gran Torino contacts him, and All Might is shown nervous during the talk. All Might praises him, but get progressively more nervous as Gran Torino calls him out on not visiting often enough. Despite that, Gran Torino complimented All Might on picking a successor like Izuku, as he saw the same flame in him that he saw. During the Hideout Raid Arc, he fought alongside his mentor against the League of Villains. When All Might fought All for One, Gran Torino joined All Might in his final battle, acting not only as an ally in combat, but as an emotional rock, keeping All Might focused in the face of All For One's provocations and taunts. Gran Torino also expressed his pride in his pupil for defeating All For One a second time while being the Symbol of Peace one last time. After All Might discovered Tomura Shigaraki was Nana Shimura's grandson, Gran Torino stopped him from going after him as it would be fruitless to try in reasoning with a criminal and All Might accepted his teacher's words. Endeavor Ten years before the start of the series, All Might once had a talk with Endeavor and since then, they have not spoken to each other. All Might appears to respect Endeavor, wanting to get advice from him on how to raise the next generation. It seems that their rivalry is mainly one-sided (on Endeavor's) as All Might is usually friendly with him. Endeavor was bitterly consumed by his desire to surpass All Might, which inevitably led to his family problems. Focused on his goals to dethrone All Might, Endeavor had no interest in talking to him or exchanging ideas. After All Might's retirement and Endeavor's subsequent promotion to No. 1 hero, the two appear to be on better terms: The shock of seeing All Might in his weakened state made him question the things he sacrificed in his search for power, with Endeavor approaching the former hero on how to fill the void left by All Might. Endeavor even thanked All Might for bringing his son back to him, which All Might stated wasn't a problem. Later on, he sincerely asked him what it truly is to be the Symbol of Peace. Sir Nighteye was once All Might's sidekick before their eventual falling out when their values conflicted in regards to All Might's injuries. Nighteye pleaded with All Might to retire and find a successor. Nighteye believed that by retiring, All Might's legend would live on and that he would only damage the citizens and other heroes who look up to him if he pushed himself. All Might refused his partner's advice for fear of another villain as powerful as All For One rising to power in his absence. During their argument, Nighteye brought up a future he saw of All Might via his Quirk, where All Might would clash with a villain and meet a gruesome demise. As his foresight was never wrong, he did not want to see All Might's death. From there, they had a fight and separated. Despite this, Nighteye doesn't hold any resentment against All Might, and still admires him and cares for him despite their disagreements. However, All Might was reluctant with the idea of meeting his old sidekick again due to becoming something Nighteye warned him about. This is also one of the reasons why he refuses to help Izuku to getting an introduction to Nighteye. Equally, in spite of all the admiration that he professes to him, Sir Nighteye thinks that All Might's decision to choose to Izuku as his successor was a mistake. Naomasa is also another person that knows about his condition; All Might thinks he is the best cop there is. Naomasa and All Might met while the latter (in base form) was posing as All Might's contact, in recommendation of Naomasa's partner. While they were having a conversation in a café, All Might constantly made excuses and run to perform quick deeds as All Might. When he accidentally returns with the uniform still visible (revealing his dual identity as All Might), Naomasa calls him out on not filing reports on all of his heroic activities (as customary of a Pro Hero). Taking pity on the number 1 Hero, Naomasa offered to file the reports himself, letting All Might act without any worries apart from telling Naomasa what he was doing. Former Quirk Description: One For All (ワン・フォー・オール Wan Fō Ōru): Transferred to him from Nana Shimura, Toshinori's Quirk allowed him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, significantly enhancing all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level, resulting in unbelievable feats of strength, speed, agility, and durability. Unlike other known users of this Quirk, Toshinori was noted to have an innate instinct for wielding it, mastering it almost instantly with no aid from his teachers. Also, seemingly unique to him, Toshinori's mastery of this Quirk enabled him to morph himself into a towering, powerfully built man to hide his identity from society. All Might was so proficient with One For All that he was widely known as the world's most powerful person. During the peak of his abilities, he's been shown to deal with many threats at once in mere seconds effortlessly. Even more, after being grievously injured by All For One and transferring One For All to Izuku, All Might, using only residual "embers" of his former Quirk, could still achieve tremendous feats well-above everyone else (besides All For One). Despite no longer possessing One For All, Toshinori still has a connection with the Quirk. During the time he held One For All, a portion of his consciousness was imprinted into the Quirk itself, creating a vestige in One For All's mental landscape. This connection allows Toshinori to unconsciously provide the other vestiges information that he learns while also allowing Toshinori to sense the vestiges in One For All and Izuku through a kind of psychic link similar to All For One's connection with Tomura. Name: Shota Aizawa Hero Alias: Eraser Head Type: Character Occupation: Homeroom Teacher for Class 1-A, Pro Hero Age: 30 Height 183cm (6'0") Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. He is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance, often looking fatigued. His facial hair is almost always in a stubbly, unkempt state (shaved for the press), and his eyes tired, bloodshot, and flat unless he's in combat. During his second and third years of high school at U.A., Shota's hero costume was a separate black jacket with shorter sleeves, pants, and shoes. He also sported a pair of black fingerless gloves and a wrap scarf. In his second year, Shota added beige goggles with sliver lenses to his costume, and later in his third year, they resemble more closely the ones he wears today. Hero costume:His hero costume is a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his signature wrap scarf at all times. He also hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf for use in battle. Before starting his teaching career, Shota's goggles were of a silver-like color, and he had a smaller utility belt. After being heavily injured by the U.S.J. Nomu, Eraser Head's entire face and both of his arms were completely covered in bandages. Once these bandages were removed, he reveals a small deep scar underneath his right eye Personality: Stoic, blunt, pragmatic, dry-humored, caring (in his own way), perceptive, rational Shota is a very stern and reserved man who has lofty expectations of his students. He is primarily motivated by logic and does not believe in the necessity to maintain a clean-cut appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes off as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag instead. During his time as a student at U.A. High School, Shota was a gloomy and introverted young man who held severe doubts over whether he could be a hero, as his Quirk, Erasure, while useful, couldn't do much by itself. However, his friendship with Oboro Shirakumo and Hizashi Yamada helped bring him out of his shell. Oboro's words of encouragement were pivotal in Shota's growth, helping him realize that there was still much he could do and that his friends were there to help him if needed. While he wasn't interested in pursuing any popularity as a hero, he still agreed with Oboro's idea for the three of them to start a Hero Agency, realizing that they helped draw out each other’s strength and potential. However, everything changed after Oboro was killed in a fierce attack by the villain known as Garvey. The grief of losing his close friend strongly impacted Shota and caused him to lock in on his commitment to becoming a hero. However, this also caused him to develop his solitary tendencies, barely interacting with any of his classmates, and taking breaks by napping in his sleeping bag. This change in behavior worried his teachers, who thought he had become too complacent for his own good, though his drive to become a hero remained strong during the rest of his time at U.A. While his teacher advised him not to rush his career, upon graduating from high school, Shota made the decision to become an underground hero who would specialize in fighting villains, leading to him becoming the serious and driven man that he is now, Eraser Head. Prior to becoming a teacher at U.A. High, Shota had a more reckless and apathetic demeanor as a Hero. While still taking his duties seriously, he was willing to overlook the illegal actions of the Naruhata Vigilantes along with unethical yet well-meaning dealers such as the Hotta Brothers. He even allied himself with them multiple times in order to help take down the Villain Factory. Despite this, he didn't hesitate to try to arrest Koichi Haimawari when the latter was wanted by the police, telling the young Vigilante that he was being reckless by resisting the Pro Heroes who wanted to help and believing that he wouldn't stop until someone got hurt. Even so, he soon abandoned his attempt to arrest him so the two of them could fight Number 6 and his army of Anonymous together, though he still warned Koichi that he would break his legs if he tried to run away. As a teacher with notoriously high expectations, Shota is known to expel students who he feels are not suited for U.A. High. However, it's revealed that this high expulsion rate is only on paper and that he actually re-enrolls the students he expels: Shota does this so they can experience "death" once, giving them an experience that drives them to push even higher,[14] although it is noteworthy that he has not expelled any students from Class 1-A yet, despite being well-known for doing so.[15] He can be rigid and strict when necessary and has little tolerance for disobedience. Shota is not afraid of putting his students through rigorous training and often emphasizes the more unpleasant parts of heroism so that his students can overcome their limits. Shota has proven to be very vocal and unafraid when expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of U.A.'s choices when it comes to examinations are not practical or challenging enough for real hero hopefuls and is adamant about having certain systems used by the institution changed. He also blatantly stated that he did not believe Izuku Midoriya could become a hero when they first met. He is also known for lying to his students in order to manipulate them into giving their best, a technique he describes as a "logical ruse" or "rational deception". Despite his apathetic traits, Shota genuinely cares about his students and will go to great lengths to protect them. As Eraser Head, he saved Tsuyu Asui from being decayed by Tomura Shigaraki, in spite of his grievous injuries. He has also expressed belief in his students on multiple occasions and is confident that even the likes of Katsuki Bakugo would not be swayed by Villains Speech: Monotone and minimalistic; straightforward with no sugar-coating; occasional dry sarcasm; speaks only when necessary Background: Shota Aizawa is the strict yet dedicated homeroom teacher for Class 1-A at U.A. High School. Despite his seemingly apathetic demeanor, he is deeply committed to his students' growth and safety. He maintains high standards and isn't afraid to expel students he believes lack potential. His teaching philosophy emphasizes practical skills, mental fortitude, and logical decision-making over flashy heroics. Quirk Description: Erasure (抹まっ消しょう Masshō): Eraser Head's Quirk allows him to nullify another person's Quirk by looking at them. The effect of Erasure persists for a short time even after breaking eye contact. After suffering serious injuries during the U.S.J. Incident, Eraser Head can no longer sustain Erasure for extended periods and requires longer breaks between uses While powerful, Erasure comes with several limitations: Erasure is disabled when Shota blinks. Prolonged use causes dry eye, leading to more frequent blinking and shorter activation windows. Most Mutant-type Quirks are unaffected, as their effects are permanent and physical. Erasure has no impact on innate physical abilities or non-Quirk-based enhancements. When active, Erasure causes Shota's hair to levitate, which is a visual tell that opponents can use to gauge activation. The Quirk has no inherent offensive capability. Since the Quirk Factor is tied to Shota's eyes, any serious injury to them can reduce or eliminate his ability to use Erasure effectively. Eyedrops: Shota carries a small green case of eye drops with him. He uses them to treat the dry eye caused by keeping his eyes open too long. Capturing Weapon (捕縛武器 Hobaku Buki?): Eraser Head's weapon of choice is a cloth made from steel wire alloy woven with carbon nanofibers. Eraser Goggles: Eraser Head can be recognized by the gold goggles he wears around his neck, hidden by his scarf. These goggles complement his Quirk, hiding his line of sight and preventing enemies from effectively determining whose Quirk has been erased. He received the goggles during his school years with Oboro. High Density Weights: Eraser Head and the rest of the teachers use these bracelets to give themselves a handicap while they are fighting their students. Caltrops: Eraser Head used caltrops in the practical battle against Team Todoroki & Yaoyorozu. They were effective when used in combination with the Capturing Weapon. After suspending Shoto in mid-air with the Capturing Weapon, Shota threw caltrops beneath him so he couldn't land safely in case he escaped his restraints. Knife: Eraser Head has a large knife he uses to cut off his Capturing Weapon should it become stuck to something. He can also use it in combat. The League of Villains (敵ヴィラン連れん合ごう Viran Rengō), or the Villain Alliance, was an organization made up of powerful Villains who threatened to destroy the hero society. The League was founded and led by All For One before being led by Tomura Shigaraki. They were the main antagonists of the My Hero Academia series, and first appeared during the U.S.J. Arc.
