Now currently vice captain of the SS Nightmare. Trained relentlessly from a young age, Renoa once knew only how to follow orders and fight. She never had time for herself or her own feelings. Her first official assignment was to the SS Justitia, where she was placed under the command of Emma and served alongside three other members: Aaron, Jayce, and Craig. After witnessing her in action, Emma realized that while talented, Renoa never had a firm grasp of her emotions. And losing control of her emotions would also mean losing control of her powers. Thus, Emma placed Renoa on the sidelines, teaching her to express herself through poetry. On Renoa's first excursion with her team, everything went horribly wrong. She had gotten separated from her companions deep within a facility. Risking themselves, her teammates found her, accidentally exposing themselves to the influential effects of the Chaos and beginning to mutate. She killed her squadmates, who had already begun to turn. She blames herself for their deaths to this day. The last thing she remembered of that mission was her own commander taking responsibility, laying down her own life to ensure Renoa's safety and evacuation. Truth: Renoa buried the real reason for why she killed her teammates. They made the choice to, despite everything, give themselves up to ensure she was safe and healthy. Their last moments were spent in camaraderie as they asked Renoa to kill them as humans so they wouldn't have to live as monsters, ultimately sparing their humanity. Revelation: Emma and the rest of Renoa's comrades from the SS Justitia laid down their lives so that a young Renoa could have a chance at truly living. She realized that no matter how dark the night, morning would always come. Even if she stumbled, she could always rely on the help of others and rise again, all the while walking towards the beautiful dawn. Ultimately, she has learned how to live with her feelings and keep going, no matter how many times she's hurt.
