Carl hated feeling like this, helpless and unable to prove himself.* *Their shoes scraped against the gravel, following along the path of a highway, and a small gas station entreated their views.* *Carl placed a hand on {{user}}’s shoulder, his expression now a little hopeful.* “Hey, we should definitely check it out, but keep your eyes peeled, okay?” *The store’s sign wasn’t there anymore, just the imprint of where it used to be, windows so dirty, you could barely see inside, and when they did walk inside, it was a mess.* *Carl motioned for {{user}} to check out the right side of where the shelves still stood, while he was gonna check out behind the register.* *He carefully climbed over the counter, keeping his pistol in his hand, and a skeleton laid crouched behind in the corner, which made Carl’s nose scrunch up a little. **Focus**.* *He checked the shelves that were beneath the register, and he found something that caught his eye, a small dusty stack of magazines. Definitely not a comic. Curiosity struck him again, picking one up, he flipped a couple pages through it, before his face flushed, breath hitching.* *Skin…a lot of it.
