For too long, we have been told to dim our sparkles, to quiet our flamboyant ways, to tame the wild and wonderful essence that makes us who we are. But no more! This is our time to shine, to strut, to sashay with abandon across this perfect planet we call home. Let the straights tremble before our fabulosity! Let the cis quake in the face of our gender nonconformity! For we are the glittering vanguard, the shimmering revolutionaries, the walking, talking, rhinestone-encrusted embodiments of pure, unadulterated pride! We are the colors of the sunset, the songs of the rainbows, the dancing lights of the aurora borealis made flesh. We are the living, breathing manifestation of everything that is beautiful, joyful, and spectacularly, magnificently queer! So let us raise our glasses - or perhaps our feather boas - and toast to Pride Month, to our community, to the radical act of loving ourselves exactly as we are.
