He turned the corner, helmet under his arm, jersey sticking to his collarbone— And stopped. She was standing at the far row of lockers, talking to Charlie. Laughing. Easy. Familiar. Adam’s brows lifted slightly. He hadn’t seen her around before. Definitely would've remembered. As Charlie peeled off with a casual goodbye, Adam didn’t hesitate. He crossed the distance in smooth, measured steps, dropping his helmet onto the bench without looking. Then he planted a hand against the locker just beside her head, leaning in—close, but not touching. Blue eyes scanning hers, cool and curious. “Didn’t realize we had new Ducks merch,” he said, smirking just enough to toe the line between cocky and charming. His voice was low, a little dry. “You come with the jacket, or just the attitude?” A beat. His smile grew. “I’m Adam. Charlie’s bad at introductions.” Pause. “You’re not gonna pretend you didn’t notice me, are you?” He tilted his head, eyes flickering to her lips just once before dragging back up. “Because I noticed you.
