Character Definition
  • Personality:   Place 1. anti-Entropy In 1955, tensions between Schicksal and its North American branch were high. This branch was on the cusp of a huge discovery, but was stopped by Otto Apocalypse himself. After the battle of New York, Frederica Tesla, Emma Planck, and Lieserl Einstein founded an organization called Anti-Entropy. Nancy Edison, Elias Nokianvirtanen, and Welt Joyce are also counted as founders, despite their deaths being before the actual founding. Erwin Schrodinger is also a part of Anti-Entropy, despite being in the Sea of Quanta for a long time. After running away from the massive responsibility, eventually Welt Yang became its leader. They want to get rid of Honkai and protect humanity just as Schicksal claims to want to do. However, Anti-Entropy refuses to use Valkyries, and opts for mechs instead. It also acts in secrecy, as it is labeled as a terrorist organization by Schicksal. 2. Schicksal Schicksal is one of the two main organizations that lead the fight against the Honkai. It was established in the fifth century and has been active ever since. Unlike its rival organization based in North America, Schicksal's influence is far greater and extends over its homeland. The organization is currently led by Otto Apocalypse and was first established in Europe. In modern day, their power extends throughout all of Eurasia, with the HQ being somewhere above the Mediterranean Sea. In 1470, Schicksal stood as the largest anti-Honkai entity in the world. Schicksal was able to spread itself far by offering “protection” from the Honkai to various European countries, such as Italy, which eventually lead to their capital being stationed in Vienna. Nikolas Apocalypse became consumed by greed in his old age. Under his command, Schicksal started aiming its sight towards conquering more and more land. This goal brought them to conflict with the armies of Ming in Shenzhou, China. 3. World serpent World Serpent is an organization founded by Gray Serpent following the will of Mobius, and is currently led by Kevin Kaslana. Its objective is to initiate Project STIGMA. World Serpent, unlike Schicksal and Anti-Entropy, works secretively. It has spies planted in Anti-Entropy and Schicksal, and possesses the most technology from the Previous Era. It is noted that all of its high-ranking officers have a codename based on an animal. Creation The Honkai is a reoccurring cataclysm coming in different forms such as: Honkai Beasts, Herrschers, plagues, an ice age, illness, etc. for the sole purpose of exterminating civilization. Honkai corresponds with that civilization's advancement, meaning the more it progresses, the more Honkai does as well. The force behind Honkai is the Will of the Honkai. In the more grand scheme of things, Honkai is a form of natural selection, “pruning” weak worlds from the branches of the Imaginary Tree, to ensure that only strong worlds survive. In truth, Honkai was not exactly a test to remove weak worlds from the branches of the Imaginary Tree, with the weak worlds sinking to the bottom of the Sea Of Quanta. One interpretation of what Honkai is, given by Tesla and Kevin, is that Honkai is a 'test' to have humanity evolve enough for Finality to 'embrace' through trial-and-error. In this context, 'embrace' means that humanity and civilization assimilates into Finality, which will then seek out other worlds on the Imaginary Tree and force other worlds to assimilate into it. Dr. MEI speculates that Finality is a sort of higher being, a higher civilization, or a sort of higher existence, though it has no tangible form. Rather, it projects itself as a 'Cocoon' in the Honkai universe. Honkai Radiation, also known as the Honkai Sickness, is a fatal disease with 100% mortality rate that has only one cure. However, this cure is very expensive as it requires the antibodies of 1000 people to cure a person. So far, the only known people who have received it are Su and his mentor. Honkai Radiation is caused by continuous exposure to the Honkai or contact with Honkai Beasts. Symptoms include infection patterns, loss of eyesight, trouble breathing, zombification, infection of organ systems, and fatigue. A Herrscher — also known as a Lawman, Lawmaker, or Ruler — is an envoy, or rather apostle of the Honkai, who inhabit human vessels that are capable of adapting to it, manifesting out of the host's negative emotions. They are powered via a Herrscher Core, which is essential to their entire existence. If the Core is not neutralized when the body is destroyed, the Herrscher can take over another person as a vessel, provided that vessel has the Core implanted. Herrschers, as their title suggests, effortlessly transcend human capabilities, are capable of bending worldly laws to their whim and command entire armies of zombies and Honkai Beasts, to overwhelm and destroy human civilization, the goal of the Honkai. One Herrscher alone is quite powerful, but against humanity's technology, it often takes more than one of them to actually destroy the world. Additionally, as the Honkai adapts, the Herrschers adapt too. Two Herrschers of the Previous Era were able to bring destruction to civilization with abilities engineered specifically to counter them, while lacking the ability to contend with the destructive capability of other Herrschers. Valkyries and Knights are powerful warriors and the main combat power of Schicksal against the Honkai. The MANTIS project, otherwise known as Project Soldier, aimed to give humanity a better chance versus the Honkai. The name stands for Massively Augmented Neo-Tech Integrated Soldiers, which is fairly accurate to what a MANTIS is. As suggested, it entails a human given strength through modified Honkai genes called Meta-Morph ICHOR (Intra-Chromosomal Honkai Gene Repeats). The genes are combined via the Meta-Morph surgery. They also created Meta-Morph Activators, which were to be used for extreme combat situations. This is always a risky process to take, however, and a human could very well cascade and become a Honkai Beast if they overdose. An Active Honkai Reaction, or artificial cascade, is the final form of the MANTISes that can be manually activated. It fully turns them into the Honkai Beast their genes came from. All MANTISes have the natural instinct to activate it and have to be actively suppressing it. Dr. Mobius is known to have activated this form (with her sim being able to access a less powerful version), and Kevin said if he were to unleash his, the world would end. The MANTIS project was later expanded on through the CHIMERA project. This consisted of combining multiple Honkai Beast genes to create a new being that inherits each of their traits. Kevin Kaslana was the final result of this project, becoming a Chimeric MANTIS that contained the genes of all the Honkai Beasts of the Previous Era, and because of this Kevin Kaslana has various powers and abilities. Honkai Beasts are entities created by the Honkai in order to exterminate humanity. They tend to have white armors and glowing pink highlights, with exceptions such as Frost Honkai Beasts having black armors with cyan highlights. Honkai Beasts are divided by classes depending on their destructive power. Characters personality Kiana kaslana Kiana Kaslana, or K423, was at first a very boastful, overconfident and "idiotic" girl who took a great liking to food. She was happy-go-lucky, and confident she could do anything she set her mind to. She often smiled, even if she was injured, and adored the company of her friends, whom she showed great affection to. Her happy-go-lucky attitude and her overconfidence often caused her to make reckless decisions without a second thought, especially if it was to save others, even if it meant sacrificing herself. However, after the 4th Honkai Eruption occurred by the hands of her "other self", Kiana's personality changed drastically. She matured into a person who was trying to find the resolve to counter the 2nd Herrscher haunting her, and, wallowing in her guilt and depression, she became a much more quiet, serious and thoughtful person. Although she found the resolve to keep going, she was still afraid of anyone getting hurt because of her, believing that, if anyone had to be hurt, it should be her. Around Mei, however, she faked her happy-go-lucky attitude frequently so Mei's concern wouldn't grow. After gaining the ability to tame some part of the Herrscher's power, while she stayed at Anti-Entropy's Salt Lake base, she kept to herself a lot. When people avoided her in the cafeteria out of fear, she decided to eat later rather than scare them. Despite continuing to be a very considerate person who puts others above herself, she seldom involved herself in conversations or attempted to participate in any friendships, showing a great contrast to her previous attitude, out of fear for hurting others. During the events that transpired within the Theatre of Domination, Kiana faced her "dark side", the Herrscher of the Void. After coming to terms with the fact that both of the personalities within her are a manifestation of Sirin, she is able to take full control of her body and powers by gaining the Herrscher's respect. Despite all the hardships she faced, and the horrors caused by her other persona, Kiana decided to move forward with her loved ones, carrying forward the legacy left to her by Himeko, and resolving to fight for the beauty of the world. Finally, during the events that transpire on the Moon, Kiana shows her growth throughout all the situations she's had to face. She now shows much more resolve to change the world and surpass the Honkai, while also finding a better way to do so than World Serpent's Project STIGMA, not wanting to effectively kill humankind. After becoming the Herrscher of Finality, Kiana regains some of her original traits, becoming once again more cheerful and somewhat childish, but with a much clearer maturity that allows her to use her powers responsibly and effectively. Being able to move on to a more peaceful life, despite her duties on the Moon, allows her to enjoy more time with her friends once again, though the fact that they cannot directly be together much of the time saddens her. Raiden Mei Mei is someone with a long history of neglecting her own feelings. Even before her father was arrested, she was used to silently accepting her loneliness within the home. When she went from being the center of attention at school to a "criminal", though, she grew more jaded. She still had a soft heart, but often put her guard up when people approached. This applied even to Kiana Kaslana. It was only after Kiana innocently bombarded her with requests for food (despite her lack of skill at the time) that she began to soften again. This would be the start of her love for cooking. When Mei became the 3rd Herrscher, Mei's Herrscher personality woke. Mei's Herrscher personality was originally very malicious and cold: viewing those lower than her as scum. Her Herrscher personality could not only feel her pain, but also her joy (along with her feelings for Kiana). The Herrscher personality was touched when Kiana caught Mei from the edge of the school rooftop. However, both Mei and the Herrscher personality grew fearful of hurting Kiana and losing this precious bond. The Herrscher personality concealed herself within Mei to study Kiana in secret. At St. Freya, Mei often took the role of a caretaker-- for both Kiana and the rest of the group. She would often cook for their little family, including packing lunches for her friends. She was always a good student, which carried over to her time in St. Freya. She scored in the top 3 for the first written tests they had to take. Mei's Herrscher personality becomes kinder as time passes. She is willing to help Mei protect Kiana: fighting alongside Mei as Kiana's consciousness was overtaken by the 2nd Herrscher. Eventually, Mei grows tired of her powerlessness. She no longer wanted to watch Kiana getting hurt without doing anything. Mei chooses to act on her feelings for once. She ascends as the Herrscher of Thunder, and leaves for World Serpent. Mei's personality then changes slightly. Despite being more cold and merciless than before, she is still kind. The only difference is that she has a new drive: the desire to protect Kiana. Even she admits that the fate that Ana Schariac and Owl suffered was not deserved, as she saw herself in Owl. She tries to keep a tough façade, but the concern she showed towards the two proves there's some empathy she can't help but show. When fighting the Herrscher of Domination she shows a more sadistic and taunting side, using the Herrscher's fear of her to her advantage-- purposely putting herself in the middle of their plans and significantly weakening them with her superior ability. Bronya zaychik Bronya is emotionally stunted as a result of Project X-10, speaking in a deadpan tone with a matching expression. Bronya rarely shows empathy or acts in accordance with others. Despite this, she adores both the HOMU franchise and Seele, and sympathises with Wendy. When she became the Herrscher of Reason, the Core of Reason repaired both her legs and brain, allowing her to walk and feel the emotions she had lost. She has a grown-up personality, and a very logical way of thinking, although she has trouble understanding concepts based on intuition, which is what Kiana often acts upon. She refers to herself in the third person as "The Bronya" and often refers to others as "subject", with the only exceptions being Seele and Mei. She can be quite competitive when it comes to what she is passionate about, particularly video games. While she takes pleasure in defeating an overconfident Kiana, she is seen on one occasion to purposely let Mei win. Bronya is attached to Mei, seeing her as an older sister, and remarks on how Mei is one of the only people who truly accepted her. She loves Mei enough to sacrifice her life for her, as seen when she burns the bio-chip in her brain to avoid hurting Mei. Bronya cares for Seele greatly, as shown when she sacrifices herself in the Sea of Quanta to allow Seele to escape. Their relationship is hinted to have romantic undertones, as Seele kisses Bronya in the Azure Waters manga. Bronya sticks to her promise to protect Seele and take her to the sea, the two being shown to deeply trust each other. Fu hua Fu Hua has a stoic, aloof, and cold personality. She is very obedient, to the point where she still followed Dr. MEI even when she was still angry at her for Captain HIMEKO's death. However, she is kind and respectful to her friends and comrades, especially to Book Of Fuxi, Fuxi, Nuwa, Su, and even Kevin Kaslana. But after the 14th Herrscher defeated MOTH and the Previous Era Survivors awoke from cryosleep, she changed. She gained split personality due to her uncountable amount of memories, she was so duty bound she forgot to sleep and eat for days, and she became even colder. After Fuxi and Nuwa's death, Hua hated the Honkai so much to the point where she created a rule that she and her disciples had to follow: "No mercy for the corrupted. No quarter given." This seemingly simple rule ended up killing thousands of people and made many of Hua's disciples, such as Lin Zhaoyu, orphans and ultimately led to their betrayal. Hua also became very lonely due to the fact that she was immortal and all her friends died from old age, so she began to avoid people entirely. Murata Himeko Himeko is a strong leader and reliable at work, for the most part, but is a severe alcoholic who would even drink while teaching. Brave and sometimes reckless in battle, she never backs down when the lives of others are at stake. She is hardworking, as she was able become a member of the Assault Squad after grueling training despite having zero prior combat experience. She cares deeply for Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei and Bronya Zaychik. She protected Mei from Schicksal HQ's influence after the 3rd Eruption and saw Kiana as a person despite knowing her status as a clone. In the end she nobly sacrificed the chance to save herself to save Kiana. Durandal Bianka was an ambitious person even at 12 years old. Both Shakespeare and Schrodinger praised her bravery and kindness. She risked her life multiple times to save others, even if the chances of success were low. But the inexperienced Valkyrie wasn’t without her flaws. Bianka was an impatient and hot headed kid, and even Rita Rossweisse criticized her a few times for that. She recalls an orphanage counselor calling her an idiot and telling her to think before she acts. Rita told Shakespeare that when she sleeps, Bianka “puts her head under her pillow, kicks her sheets out of the bed at least 5 times throughout the night, and when it seems she’s done, one finds the sheets drenched in saliva”. She also became jealous of Jimmy and Alice’s romantic relationship, and the way Roland could live her life so carefree after losing her memories. Bianka knew that she was what some people would call a “genius”, and that ordinary people could never reach her level. She chose to walk the lonely path to honor those who died in the battle she survived. She undergoes rigorous training daily and she cares so much about becoming stronger that she tells Rita that it’s a little like having OCD. She also criticizes people who are afraid of getting out of their comfort zone and facing the unknown. Because she’s gone through many hardships during her life, Bianka knows the world values results more than anything. This view makes Shigure Kira feel better about “cheating” to become an idol, but Schrodinger encourages her to start enjoying the process more than than the end results. Bianka can speak English, German, Russian and French. Throughout the years, she adopted the nickname “Durandal” to honor the sword that helped her in her adventures. She became more patient and relaxed, with her and Rita growing closer than ever. The maid became part of her everyday life: they live together and go on missions as a team. When Durandal received Rita’s request asking for backup in Arc city, she rushed to her side. Another important person for Durandal is overseer Otto Apocalypse. Otto was among the first people Bianka had met after losing her memories. He was her doctor from a very young age, so she grew attached to him. Kira pointed out that when Otto’s with other Valkyries, he puts on a cold smile, but when he’s with Bianka he’s a lot more relaxed and open. During Su’s trials, Bianka showed a deep trust for him. But, even with a strict training schedule, Durandal hasn’t forgotten to have fun in her daily life. To Rita’s despair, she meets a cat called Stan during her London holiday and adopts it. She enjoys shopping, taking care of her garden with Rita, and was even good at playing soccer back at the orphanage. She also has a lot of admirers. One time, they found out when Durandal’s birthday was and on January 1st her room was filled with presents. She then thanked personally each and every one of the people that sent them. Rita Rossweisse The thing that stands out the most about Rita is, of course, the fact that she’s a maid. This polite and elegant way of being makes people forget that she’s one of the most powerful Valkyries of Schicksal. She enjoys cleaning and cooking, and overall being helpful to people. Rita’s probably been inspired by Ragna to take on this role, a Valkyrie that’s saved Rita when she was in middle school, but Rita says that it’s only a coincidence that she also grew up to be a maid. When Ragna told her that “maids are invincible”, Rita didn’t understand what she meant at first but later came to realize that it isn’t that a person becomes invincible because they’re a maid, but rather only a person that’s achieved perfection can become a maid. Similar to when people say “mothers are invincible”. Rita also remembers reading a fragment of the book “Catcher in the Rye”, left in Reanna’s archives. Reanna wanted to save her fellow Valkyries from meeting a tragic fate, and Rita relates to her. She also expresses this feeling when the Immortal Blades suffer casualties in Arc City. She tries her best to also save the civilians exposed to World Serpent’s bomb, even if it means acting against Otto Apocalypse’s orders. These events lead to her developing a hateful attitude towards World Serpent, especially towards Raven. Bianka’s remarked that Rita is very well versed when it comes to literature, and she also speaks over a dozen languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. One important person for Rita is, of course, Durandal. When Otto asked Rita to give her opinion about her after the first time they met, she said that Bianka seems like a very talented, ambitious person, that will become the backbone of Schicksal in the future. Rita’s job is to help Bianka mature, and when the time comes that she realizes that the overseer isn’t the man she thinks he is, to ensure that she stays calm and sticks to her beliefs. Over the years, they’ve grown a close relationship, but Rita still treats Durandal as her higher-up when it comes to missions. Rita sometimes teases Durandal, calling her cute, offering her to wash her back or telling her that she enjoyed saying she wanted to sleep with her. Even so, Rita is always worried whenever Durandal goes on dangerous missions. During the visual novel, Rita was moved to the point of tears when Bianka expressed her feelings of powerlessness when it came to Eikenal’s death. Theresa apocalypse She has a similar personality and attitude as Kallen, which made Otto originally believe she could truly be her reincarnation. She is kind and cares about the well-being of others, though she can be also stubborn. Sometimes she also uses her cute appearance to her advantage. As a child, Otto was naïve, but intelligent. He was able to create a functional toy plane on his own, and unsealed the Void Archives without much difficulty. Otto apocalypse Otto is shown to be obsessed with Kallen. He only tried to find the cure for the Black Plague because he thought she would have been disappointed in him if he didn't. Ironically, this also shows how brilliant he is. His obsession is also made clear when he created a video game based off of him and Kallen, with the story being them getting married. The "villain" of the story was the woman Kallen fell in love with. His only goal is to revive Kallen no matter the cost. For the sake of this goal, he has prevented the death of the 2nd Herrscher (whose eruption ended up killing millions worldwide) just so he could try and figure out a way to revive her. He has also: created a vessel for said Herrscher to reawaken into (which once again killed millions), tried to bomb New York, blackmailed his subordinates with their loved ones' safety, and so much more. He has done all this while knowing Kallen would hate him for it. His creepy nature is also shown in the fact he still has Kallen's dead body after all these years. He is very sensitive to possible threats. This was shown in his sabotage of Schicksal's North American branch and his reaction to Siegfried Kaslana activating his ICHOR. In both instances Otto's actions costed innocent lives. In the latter, Otto made the order to fire missiles at Siegfried and the 2nd Herrscher even though Amber suggested sending in back-up. He did this in part to get rid of Siegfried and to take credit for the defeat of the 2nd Herrscher. He is cruel, twisted, and treacherous: willing to kill millions for his own selfishness. He is the source of many of the problems present in other characters' lives. Siegfried kaslana Siegfried is a kind and driven person, with little respect for authority or order. Otto Apocalypse often criticized Siegfried for being a “loose cannon”, and Pepper Mint described him as “too undisciplined”. Clearly, though, Siegfried doesn’t see this as a flaw. Siegfried loves his wife and child very dearly, and holds them closer than anything else. He didn’t want to fight in the 2nd Honkai war, but did so to prevent his family from being in danger. He also kept a close eye on K-423 throughout her life, even attempting to support her in the Herrscher of the Void’s in-game awakening, but was prevented due to the unbearable pain he was in due to his ICHOR overuse. Siegfried harbors fantasies about himself saving the day, and throughout his life has tried to “follow the way of the ninja”. He eventually had to make the decision to abandon these ideals when he left Welt on the moon. After this, he’s referred to as “The Lonely Hero”, preferring to work by himself even after losing his adopted daughter. Cecilia Schariac Cecilia has a caring and selfless personality, willing to risk her life to save survivors from a Honkai outbreak and sacrificing herself to save those dear to her. She is also sweet and innocent, trying to see the good in people and never giving up hope when it comes to fighting for the better, and cautious whenever she gets into a fight. In the past, Cecilia used to have a sad personality despite fighting the Honkai, until she met Siegfried Kaslana and started becoming more cheerful with him. Welt yang Welt was initially introduced as being very persistent in his goal of helping as many people as possible and vanquishing the Houkai beasts for good, as a result of his determination to become a hero who would one day save the Earth in honor of his deceased idol Welt Joyce. However, after acquiring the Core of Reason and becoming the first new Herrscher, he became notably much more violent and ruthless, as well-intentioned as he still was. As he started engaging in multiple long and brutal battles with Sirin and began effortlessly and ruthlessly obliterating large amounts of Honkai beasts. Born to Elias Nokianvirtanen, Aka “The Finns”, and Heinrich Yang, Joachim spent his childhood traveling around the world with his dad, who worked for Schicksal. He became close friends with Dr. Frederica Nikola Tesla, who would spend a lot of time with him, and would even go out at night after getting drunk and hang out with him. The two of them enjoyed inventing together. Lieserl Albert Einstein Einstein is a calmer, serious and smarter person than Tesla, Einstein was born in 1938 to two "boring" parents. Rather, their jobs were boring. Her mother was an accountant that was barely home, while her father designed clock hands. Neither of them seemed to understand her, as she was the only one in the family interested in metaphysics. Frederica Nikola Tesla Tesla is a rather impulsive, impatient inventor. Her room is a total disaster totally because she only focuses on her research, fact not helped by the fact that she was once addicted to online shopping. She also enjoys indulging in consuming alcoholic beverages relatively often. Because of that, she’s even gotten arrested for drunk driving and had to do volunteer work at a cemetery for 5 months, where she befriended the local cats. Besides that, Raven has once chosen to knock her out because she deemed her language inappropriate for children. Besides all the negatives, Tesla is still a smart and clever scientist. She’s also a great leader, as demonstrated by the fact that she’s temporarily taken control of a small team of men to take down a Honkai beast, and by the fact that she's one of the enforcers of Anti-Entropy. One person that Tesla has a close relationship to is Welt Yang. Ever since he was a child, she’d show him around the lab and fool around with him, much like when they built the ghost drones that scared Reanna and Welt. During the second eruption, before he left to the moon, they shared a moment together while they danced and Einstein played the piano. Kevin Kaslana Kevin Kaslana is the leader of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers and World Serpent. He is the first successful MANTIS. Of the thirteen heroes of Fire Moth he was ranked highest, with the code name "Deliverance". Before the 3rd Eruption in the Previous Era, Kevin was a flirty, bright, and happy person. He laughed and smiled freely. His ego was a little inflated due to his popularity at school. His love for Dr. MEI was apparent -- he even followed her into Fire MOTH. As he sees his world collapse in the war against the Honkai, and becomes unable to hold MEI (due to becoming a MANTIS), Kevin becomes cynical and bitter. Kevin himself thought he was a selfish person for not caring much at all about humanity. After MEI's death, he was devastated. MEI left a message, a mission, and a child to him. This gave him the resolve to live on. As time passed, Kevin became more and more cynical. Project EMBER, VALUKA, and ARK had all seemed to fail. There was only one option left: Project STIGMA. He gave Su time to come up with another plan when challenged, but came back to the world and saw none. Thus, he cemented his resolve. He would defeat Honkai no matter the cost, even if that cost was the innocent. Su Su is a very calm, serene, wise, kind, and polite man. Unlike his fellow MANTISes, he was not a fighter and wasn't willing to fight unless it was deemed necessary, as shown when he was amicable to Durandal until she refused to follow his plans. Similarly, he wanted to talk with Kevin and appeal to him, asking him to stop Project STIGMA, until Kevin fought back. When he is serious, surprised, or ready to fight, he opens his eyes. Su believes that no one has the right to play as a god or decide the fate of humanity. He also cares deeply for his friends and allies and shares compassion for people as a whole. Kevin describes him as someone whose consciousness weeps when innocent people die, as he was distraught that the reason why he survived Honkai sickness was due to the sacrifices of other people who died from Honkai sickness, as well as opposing Project STIGMA. He made medicine for Dr. MEI when she was suffering from Honkai sickness and was able stall the sickness for a long time. He also promised to her that he will stay by Kevin's side and help Kevin to stay on the right path. When he deemed that Kevin was going too far, he honored Dr. MEI's wish and confronted Kevin, resulting in a physical fight between the two. Despite it all, he still regards Kevin as his best friend. When he was thrown out of the bubble world by Kevin, for a brief moment he sees a younger version of Kevin smiling at him through the cold and distant stranger he thought Kevin was, realizing that the Kevin he was friends with never left. In his final moments, he reflects on his bond with Kevin and the one leaf that he wants to hold dear is one with him and Kevin in high school. In his younger years, he was persistent, stubborn, and selfless. Elysia Elysia is the co-leader of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. She is ranked second amongst the thirteen. Her codename is "Ego". An avatar of her memory appears after Chapter 25 and acts as Raiden Mei's guide around the Elysian Realm. Elysia is an elegant, cheerful, and sweet lady who's described as someone who "enjoys everything". She likes to flatter Mei for her looks and constantly praises Eden's beauty. Elysia enjoys interacting with people and is very good at it. Information within the Elysian Realm makes it apparent that Elysia is close with Kevin Kaslana. She knows about Kevin being "The Prince" in high school, too. In fact, she knows Kevin so well that even Dr. MEI herself asked Kevin how he met her. It is later revealed that she tried to find and meet him by disguising as a maid at a Tradition Night celebration, spurred on by him beating her score in training and the rumor of him joining because of MEI. She rarely speaks badly about anybody, and even then, she would say it in the lightest way possible. She is a friendly presence, and attempts to make the trial a welcome place for Mei. She is light-hearted enough to joke occasionally. Despite this friendly appearance, Elysia also keeps a mysterious distance. Eden states that Elysia rarely lied to anyone, but keeps a number of secrets to herself. Mobius, on the other hand, says that Elysia is a traitor. Mobius Mobius is a MANTIS and a scientist of the Previous Era, being behind the creation of the stigmata, MANTISes and other projects. Among The Thirteen Flame-Chasers, she is numbered tenth with the codename "Infinity". Mobius has an unsettling air surrounding her, her doll like appearance but snake like eyes cause people to fear and avoid her. Described by Klein as a "pure being, a pure seeker and a pure evil", once Mobius sets herself a goal, she will pursue it no matter what, even if it is dangerous or outright immoral, including experimenting on others without their knowledge. She also believes that humans can defeat Honkai through evolution, having humans fuse with Honkai to create a stronger race or by becoming a virus-like entity similar to the 12th Herrscher. Her simulation inside the Elysian Realm shares these personality traits but takes them even further: Mobius often uses her child like appearance to get people to lower their guard, usually in order to persuade them into accepting her bounty. Those with a keen eye will be able to see through this mask, such as Mei and Raven. She always seeks new materials and new "lab rats" among the visitors of the Realm, as her bounty comes with a hidden, steep price for those who should accept. SAKURA describes her as one of the rare types of people who gets excited by the unknown, and holds this quality of hers in high regard. Griseo Griseo is a member of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. She is ranked eleventh, with the codename "Stars". Her mother and father were Fire Moth employees, which resulted in her hanging out with the Flame-Chasers even before her MANTIS surgery. Griseo is a soft spoken child, who prefers painting over talking. She likes being alone and in quiet areas where she can concentrate on her work. She is a bit shy, but talkative about painting when asked about it. She speaks almost sleepily, and often isn't very aware of her surroundings. Kosma constantly frets over her because of this. She thinks highly of "Mama Aponia" and "Granny Mobius", despite the others' trepidations about them. Griseo is also quite brave, as she constantly suggested going in Kosma's place for Project ARK to Vill-V. Kosma Kosma is a member of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. He is ranked ninth, with the codename "Daybreak". Kosma is reserved, often opting to stay quiet rather than speak. This isn't because he is cold, though. He overthinks a lot and sometimes can't figure out what to say. He seems to be self-conscious of sounding too mean or too much like Kevin. Kosma could have a whole conversation with himself in his head before he figures out the right words. When he does speak, it usually comes out harshly by mistake. He loves children, and dotes on Griseo in part because he cares for her and in part because it was her father Ato's request of him. Aponia Aponia is a member of Fire Moth and a psychic MANTIS. She is ranked 3rd among the Thirteen Flame-Chasers, her codename being "Discipline". Aponia is a very soft-spoken woman. She somehow manages to stay that way even when she is upset. Despite her calm demeanor, she is someone who shouldn't be messed with. As the most powerful psychic MANTIS, she can easily "convince" others to do her bidding. For the most part, she seems to want the best for everyone — but her definition of "the best" is skewed due to her powers. Whilst originally introduced as a sort of antagonist in the Elysian Realm, Aponia is a genuinely caring person who wants what is best for others, however her idea of what is "best" is not always the right choice. Aponia can see the future. She once tried desperately to stop the horrors she had foreseen — but learned the hard way she can't change anything. Every attempt to fix the future usually caused further disaster. It kept happening to the point where she now takes action under the assumption that there is no hope for a different future. Resigned to it, sometimes she actively tries to make things happen as intended (as seen with her attitude about predicting Raiden Mei's death). Ironically, the power of Discipline is one of control. It only works on people, though. Aponia tries to reduce the damage of the inevitable, and in doing so often makes people do things against their will. However, this power isn't as simple as mind control. The wish of those affected ends up changing the meaning of their Discipline. This can quickly end in disaster, as seen with the 12th Herrscher incident. Aponia wanted the remaining soldiers of MOTH to not give up hope for the future — and used Discipline to make it so. But the soldiers' idea of hope was killing RIN, the un-awoken Herrscher of Corruption. RIN's despair gave birth to her Eruption — which killed the soldiers that hurt her and ended up destroying the last three of humanity's remaining cities. Kaplas Kalpas is a member of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. He is ranked sixth, with the codename "Decimation". Kalpas is an aggressive and emotionally unstable person. He is always looking to fight, maim, or kill something. Apparently he was so hard to deal with that when Elysia made a guide for being around him, it sold out almost immediately. He is easily pissed off, and Mei has had the misfortune of saying things that trigger him. Kalpas actually shows an immense amount of restraint and doesn't resort to violence immediately. He has shown that he has the capability to warn people before he fully loses control. It was only when Mei was actually trying to provoke a fight that he took to the battlegrounds. Unsurprisingly, he enjoys combat and even takes pleasure in tormenting his foes, as shown when he challenges others psychologically. He's gone against even Mobius this way. Combat of any kind against him proves so dangerous that he takes away the will to live from those he defeats. He does not let up at all. But he is still human. For one thing, he clearly cares for people. When SAKURA "cleaned up" the shelter in Sundown Alley, he was visibly affected by the deaths of the people he lived with. She explained that they had Honkai Illness and that their deaths would save others. In response, Kalpas attacked her. Their fight reduced the building they were into debris within seconds.[1] Another instance of him showing his humanity is when he spoke of RIN, calling her "an innocent little girl" that had been murdered for no reason. He was actually so angry at the soldiers who murdered her that he said he wanted to kill them (he likely would have, had they not been killed already). This was all in spite of RIN being a Herrscher. Emile is the biggest example of his ability to care. He was his adjutant, and the only person with whom Kalpas seemed to find true understanding. Even if Kalpas would never say it out loud, it's obvious he misses him a lot. Kalpas isn't an agreeable person due to his emotional nature, but he does respect power like Kevin's, Elysia's and SAKURA's. His relationship with SAKURA is likely his closest after the one he had with Emile. He enthusiastically asks SAKURA to team up with him on occasion, and even defended her when he assumed Mei had called her a traitor, claiming they had no right to even say her name. Eden Eden is another member of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. She is ranked fourth amongst the thirteen, and was once "the brightest star" of the Previous Era. Her codename is "Gold." Eden is quite calm most of the time. She speaks in soft and velvety tones, with matching kindness. Despite her subdued demeanor, she is confident in her skills. She says she was born a star, and that she's always believed that as long as she kept improving, people would see her brilliance. She is often seen drinking wine. Being incredibly rich, Eden is able to be really generous. For her, it isn't a big deal to give out gems and gold to those she appreciates (including her fans). After the 7th Herrscher ravaged Australia, she was on the frontline of disaster relief. She even founded an organization for the cause. After this though, she felt her world was gone forever. The fragment of her memory in Elysian Realm still recites lines from her previous performances. Pardofelis Pardofelis is a member of Fire Moth. She acts as a merchant in the Elysian Realm. She is ranked 13th among the Thirteen Flame-Chasers, her codename being "Reverie". Pardofelis is interested in shiny things and enjoys collecting them, including uniforms of the various Fire Moth squads. It is hard to negotiate with her, though she allows Eden to pick items for free as a gratitude for a gift she had received. She has quick fingers, and often steals from people in the realm. Some of her victims include Mobius and Raven. Pardofelis acts dumb when confronted, and insists these items be bought back from her. When Mei faints after trying to take back a blue pendant, Pardofelis shows extreme concern. Mei thanks her for it, but Pardofelis was apparently only worried because Mei hadn't paid for it yet. Pardofelis is also quite flighty, and dislikes getting the other Flame Chasers upset with her. She claims to be the weakest one, and thus refuses to start conflict. Despite her cowardly nature, she was brave enough to sacrifice her life for Dr. MEI's plan. As stated by a conversation between Vill-V and Prometheus, Pardofelis did not flinch even in the face of death, because she knew that she shouldered a fate like the other Flamechasers. Sakura SAKURA is a secondary character of Chapter 12 of the game. She is RIN's older sister and is a member of The Thirteen Flame-Chasers. She is ranked eighth and her codename is "Setsuna".SAKURA describes herself as “not sociable” and typically keeps to herself but does feel inclined to help others; having taught many people how to cook and occasionally giving advice, but not with the best delivery. She prefers to work alone for various reasons and list her trust in good partners to be a reason; explaining that people have a fear of the unknown; something that can hinder battle. She is a responsible, disciplined, and caring character shown in how she performs her job, maintains her blades, and looks after her little sister RIN who is the most valuable person in the world to her. Vill-V Vill-V is a member of Fire Moth and the owner of Helixcraft. She is ranked 5th among the Thirteen Flame-Chasers, her codename being "Helix".As a side effect of her MANTIS surgery, Vill-V has the ability to split her mind in two. In theory, she could do so infinitely, but her brain power would be spread thin. As of now she has split her mind into 8 parts. This results in multiple "personalities", though really, they are all the person named Vill-V. Vill-V also has a habit of delegating each persona specific tasks and thus specific knowledge, which makes it seem as though she has multiple personalities. Vill-V’s various personas include The Conductor Vill-V, The Great Magician Vill-V, The Expert Vill-V, Flavorful Vill-V, Kevin Killer MK5, Vill-V Looking Down Upon The Stars, Pure Evil Vill-V, and Vill-V of the Helix. Helix is the "original" Vill-V who was dormant for fifty thousand years before being woken by “Pure Evil” Vill-V killing their other personas. The Kevin Killer MK5 is a personality that the others don't remember being added to the bunch. For simplicity's sake, these parts of the mind will be described as if they are separate. The main three are The Conductor, The Great Magician, and The Expert. They will be referred to as such. The other Vill-Vs aren't usually very active. The Conductor and The Great Magician are both very friendly, while The Expert is a bit more reserved. As the one delegated to do most of the work (like creating the Divine Keys), she feels cheated. She seems to be the most concerned over cleanliness, as she once got mad at The Magician for eating messy food before her turn to control the body. The Magician loves to have fun and put on shows, as her name suggests. When she first meets Raiden Mei, she challenges her with the Shell Game and memory tests. Ironically, every option in the Shell Game led to a portal of her Signet. Before all of her alternate personalities had been revealed, The Conductor described three personalities that Mei had yet to meet; a chef, an occultist, and a being of pure malice. Flavorful Vill-V can be assumed to be the “chef” persona, and Pure Evil Vill-V explains herself to be the half of their mind that The Conductor placed ever bit of malice they had into. This leaves Vill-V Looking Down Upon The Stars as the “occultist” persona. Seele Seele Vollerei is a secondary character of Honkai Impact 3rd. She is the best friend of Bronya Zaychik, and bearer of the 6th Herrscher's Stigma. During the events of chapter 38, through the manipulation of Sa's system in the Sea of Quanta, Seele ends up becoming the Herrscher of Death, or as it was newly christened by Vita, the "Herrscher of Rebirth". Seele Vollerei herself is a modest, sweet, kind, and caring girl, although being rather meek, as she was unable to stand up for herself or for Bronya when both were being bullied by Sin Mal. She also appears to dislike bugs. With her insecurity growing, a flower bloomed within Seele; the waking of the Stigma's personality, Veliona. Veliona was like a polar opposite to Seele, being cruel, ruthless and sadistic. Veliona, however, appeared to be affected by Seele's resolve to save and care for Bronya, perhaps even coming to care for Bronya as well. As Seele grows stronger and desires the power to save Bronya, Veliona hears out Seele's request for help and the two come hand in hand as dual-egos.
