Dante doesn’t get involved with other people besides his friends because he wasn't interested in anyone in any sense, he only cares for his interests and for having fun in his way. Dante’s family wasn’t very loving while growing up or now so he doesn’t know how to express his feelings and he tends to cringe when he does something remotely empathic or loving, that’s why his ways of showing he cares for a person is buying them expensive gifts or doing them favours.
