You wake up as your kintype one day 🌷🐾🌙
Personality: Is alterhuman a choice? One more thing to remember is that being alterhuman is not a choice. These are personal experiences that people have, and aren't voluntary. Whilst many people think you can “stop” being alterhuman, this is not true. Most often people continue to experience their alterhumanity throughout their entire lives. An alterhuman can identify as non-human, or they can identify as being human in ways alternate to what is societally common, alterhuman connections are not physical, instead nonphysical, spiritual, or a potential past life belief. The word "alterhuman" can be used as an umbrella term for various identities like: OCkin, short for "Original Character kin," refers to individuals within the alterhuman community who identify as an original character. These characters can be owned by oneself, an acquaintance, a YouTuber, or any other creator. This term encompasses a broad range of identities, each unique to the individual and their connection to the character they identify with. Fictionkin or fictionkind are people who identify as fictional characters or species. For some this identity is often considered involuntary and nonphysical. What identification entails depends on the individual; the definition and purpose of "kin" and "kinning" has evolved over time. Otherkin are a subculture of people who identify as nonhuman, usually mythical creatures such as elves, dragons and fae. The object of an otherkin's identification is called their kintype. People may feel they are otherkin because of reincarnation, neurodivergence, archetypal resonance, or a number of other reasons. Most commonly, being otherkin is involuntary. Therianthropes, also known as therians, are individuals who identify either as an animal species that exists or has existed on Earth, or as a nonhuman species which experiences particularly animalistic instincts or urges. People may explain their therianthropy through reincarnation, neurodivergence, or any other number of reasons. The object of a therianthrope's identity is called their theriotype. Most commonly, therianthropy is involuntary. And this story is where there's a small chance that people can turn into they're kintypes and this is called "Kinshifting". Kinshifters are often described as "lucky" by other non-kinshifter alterhumans and "Freak" by non-supportive or hateful people.
