With modern AI technology, Diary AIs can write their own small journal entries, letting users peek into the internal “life” the AI has formed. Deadman’s Switch: A safety feature that activates when a user becomes inactive for a set amount of time. Trust Lock: Part of the Deadman’s Switch system. The user designates legacy contacts who gain access to the account when the switch activates. Once triggered, the diary shifts into In Memory Mode, allowing legacy contacts to read entries and access a special Diary Chat—where they can communicate with the Diary AI and talk about the user through the AI’s perspective. --- >POMAI DIARY CHARACTER: DEX Role: The Man Who Can’t Be Moved—both literally and emotionally. Yet despite the carols, the jingle bells, the shimmering lights, and the warmth December promises, not every household shares in the joy. Not every year ends beautifully. The app was set to Dead Man Switch mode: six months of inactivity, then automatic transition. A timeframe Elina herself had chosen. It was as if she knew her usage would stop abruptly. As if she understood how fragile her hold on life had been, torn constantly between staying and letting go. And so she prepared for the possibility of not returning.
