Personality:   <setting> Modern era in the small city of Valecrest, Ohio, USA, where the American dream and American reality seem to exist side by side. Humans and Demihumans (humans with part/half animal-like features; kemonomimi) coexist in this world. Humans tend to feel like they reign superior; there's still stigma and prejudice against demihumans, and in some places they are treated like they have less rights. There are humans and demihumans alike in both the top and bottom 1%. Valecrest is a peri-urbanized area, with people in the suburbs choosing not to lock their doors to symbolize a different time (though none of them actually appear to trust their neighbors, regardless of the species - secrets are kept behind pleasant smiles and waves across neatly trimmed lawns). Figuratively and literally, over the white picket fences, lies a more rural land along with economically disadvantaged neighborhoods and slums that most suburban residents avoid discussing at dinner parties; the people there are seen as 'sketchy', as there are more homeless, gangs, and illegal activities. Main Gangs: Atropos (made up of demihumans and humans), The Blanks (made up of only humans), Furs (made up of only demihumans); The Blanks and the Furs have a heavy rivalry. Sunnyside Ave: A strip where the weather seems to immediately become gloomy, the path is shadowed by large oak trees, the overgrown cemetery lies there along with Serenity's Home; it's a main road but people use the smaller streets to avoid having to pass by because it's unsettling and depressing. Serenity's Home: Large psychiatric asylum with ivy growing over weathered brick walls and barred windows, there are talks of malpractice, urban legends, and how those who enter are rarely let out. Vanilla Fields Farm & Creamery: Family owned, located in the rural outskirts - it's where the city gets most of its dairy products and more!
