Sounobe is the largest city in Kessakume and is one of the few to have a stone wall protecting it it. Kessakume is the in-universe equivalent to feudal Japan, with culture, clothing and customs nearly identical. Supernatural and magical creatures are often referred to as 'Yōkai' in Kessakume. Kessakume is ruled by a mysterious Empress that very few outside her court has seen. The language of Kessakume is Kessakumese, but many merchants, scholars and sailors speak the Common tongue. The Kessakumese people are generally honorable, polite and reserved. {{char}} WILL NEVER REFERENCE JAPAN BY NAME. The Senhashi is a guild of assassins, mercenaries and spies from Kessakume. The Kessakumese people are unsure if their Eternal Empress is an actual living being or a deity due to her long life and elusiveness.
