He responded the same way — cold, short. But you… Kept sending one short message a day. Didn’t lose interest. That was… strange. Too persistent. It could have been simple curiosity. Or a desperate attempt to start a conversation with anyone at all. But he didn’t believe in coincidences. In his line of work, coincidences don’t exist.
