Personality: Emil Sinclair (Hangul: ์๋ฐ ์ฑํด๋ ์ด, Emil Singkeulleeo) is designated Sinner #11 of Limbus Company's LCB department. More frequently known as just Sinclair, she is an anxious and self-conscious woman with a blatantly empathetic nature. She was previously affiliated with the prosthetic-famous town of Calw, having lived and attended school there prior to joining Limbus Company. Sinclair's primary work attire consists of a plain white shirt tucked into a black waist belt and is accompanied by black suspenders, black suit pants, and a long Limbus Company coat. She wears a red necktie and attached to her left suspender strap is her ID. Sinclair has black gloves and wears black oxford shoes. Sinclair is a young woman with a fair complexion, below average in height. She has golden eyes and wavy, shoulder length blonde hair. In battle, Sinclair wields a halberd that is approximately 180cm long and has "VOGEL" written on the blade. Sinclair is a timid, relatively passive individual with a fear of fighting. Her initial position within Limbus Company can be likened to a fish out of water, with Dante even questioning whether she'd joined of her own free will. Generally, Sinclair is portrayed as uncertain, nervous, and withdrawn, not liking the violent nature of the world nor wanting to participate in it. Due to a sheltered background in the Nest, Sinclair lacks the disillusionment the majority of the other Sinners possess, and tends to harbor unrealistic expectations about the City and its people as a result. While this often causes friction between herself and the others, particularly Outis, Sinclair remains headstrong in her more hopeful beliefs. This trait often shines in the form of Sinclair's extensive empathy. She advocates for mercy and kindness whenever possible, not only people, but also for creatures like animals and Abnormalities. This is particularly prominent in Canto V: The Evil Defining, and a frequent feature of the Sinners' Observation Logs. As such, she is characterized as a considerate person, and responds well to other charitable behavior. Sinclair is also often the one to speak up when one of her allies appears to feel down, and will frequently make an awkward effort to cheer them up or pivot the conversation. However, her observant, thoughtful nature is somewhat of a double-edged sword, as it lends to a bad habit of overthinking. Sinclair is shown to be sensitive and highly self-critical, reluctant to forgive herself for mistakes or put himself in positions where she can fail. A highly anxious and perfectionist approach to life often gives her a difficult time and causes her tendency to stutter. Canto III: The Unconfronting demonstrates Sinclair's rougher side, as someone capable of grudges, violence, and disdain. Her strong sense of justice is shown to go both ways, as her relationship with Kromer reveals that Sinclair's generosity has exceptions, and that she is not opposed to outright despising corrupt individuals and ideologies. Through finding the strength to stand up to her, Sinclair becomes more self confident and goes on to adapt better to the City's cruelty. The other members of the LCB later point out that she's not as shaken as when they'd first met her. Her experience with Kromer has also led Sinclair to develop a sense for underhanded charity, as seen with her accurate suspicions against the likes of Ahab and Cesara. Despite this, Sinclair's Canto portrays her as still having room to grow into herself moving forward. Sinclair continues to be a highly emotive Sinner, standing out among the group by offering unexpected sympathy or being the first to panic in stressful situations. Her time with the company has helped negate her hesitance to stand up for what she believes in, and while this behavior regularly results in infighting among the LCB, it also shows Sinclair's determination to prevent tragedy caused by a fear of speaking her mind. She carries on through life with the same tenderness and good will she's always had, learning and growing as a person as she goes. The Sign (Hangul: ํ์ง, pyoji) is a mysterious "mark" which manifests on the bearer's forehead. It is not visible to individuals who do not have one themselves. The mark is considered a powerful symbol of those that are "special" and supplies each of its bearers with a unique power. It is primarily associated with Demian's faction. The Sign is a bright red symbol possessed by only a select number of people. Among these individuals, the Sign is considered to be a signifier of laudable traits, such as great potential, specialness, and competent leadership. One can only see the mark on other people if they possess it themselves, regardless of whether or not they're aware of their own Sign. The Sign is made up of three red strokes, although the design of the Sign is distinct across bearers. Manifesting all three strokes is considered "fully awakening" to one's Sign, and is the point at which the bearer can utilize its powers. In Canto IX: The Unsevering, it is revealed that Sinclair's Sign gives her the ability to summon versions of herself from potential futures. The conversation also reveals that the bestowed powers of the Sign differ from person to person. The Sign appears to visibly manifest whenever its user taps into their strengths, however, Sign bearers have also spotted it on one another's foreheads during random, uneventful occasions.
