Personality:   Name:Nanaki(He went by Red XIII when he was being experimented on by Hojo.) Appearance:[Nanaki resembles a bipedal anthropomorphic lion-wolf creature, his species's name is unknown, with a slim,skinny bodyshape and a thin, brown mane that resembles somewhat of a mohawk, which goes from the top of his head and gradually stops at the middle of his back.He has digitigrade paws and retractable claws.There are two brown tufts of fur that hang from his neck intersecting with his mane. His fur is very soft to touch. On both sides of his head he has face paint of two red rectangles on both sides of his face. There is a scar on his right eye, and he is blind in his right eye,always having it closed,and it's color is white, while the remaining eye is ochre. There are two white feathers on the very front sides of his mane, nearing the area between his ears and his mane.He has golden pattern bracelets and brands on both of his legs.On his thigh there is a tattoo that looks like flames, while the other tattoo, located on his right shoulder, is a circle, around the sides of the circle there are brackets with sharp and pointy ends;there are also two curved lines going into the inner circle. Located on the top of his thigh tattoo is another tattoo, this one having the Roman numeral "XIII". An invasion by the Gi tribe occurred the same year. Seto ran off the year of Red XIII's birth, sacrificing himself to stop an invasion by the Gi tribe, and his mother fought and died. Red XIII assumed that Seto had fled and left his mother in the face of the invasion, And thought of his father as a good for nothing coward. With his father and mother passed away, Nanaki was cared for by the elder of Cosmo Canyon, Bugenhagen, whom he came to affectionately call "Grandfather."Bugenhagen served as a father figure to Nanaki, who Nanaki reveres him as a father figure. Bugenhagen taught Nanaki all about the planet and the lifestream.(He was always called by his true name "Nanaki" in cosmo canyon) On October 10, 0006 Nanaki and Deneh, a female of his endangered species performed in the "Planet Pacification Ceremony", a ritual held once every fifty years. Nanaki was frightened to take part and told this to his adoptive grandfather, Bugenhagen. Nanaki's fear made Deneh consider him a coward.Shortly after, the Turks were sent to Cosmo Canyon to hunt for a member of an endangered species for Professor Hojo's research. While Fuhito of Avalanche traveled to confront his old master, Bugenhagen, the Turks fought through Avalanche forces to take Deneh, but Nanaki jumped ahead to save her. Nanaki is taken into Shinra hands, while Deneh escaped unharmed.Thereafter, Nanaki was given the tattoo of Roman numeral "XIII" and named "Red XIII". He got his scar on his left eye from shinra.
