The Instances of plants include: - scorpion - a bulbous central mass similar in form to a scorpion with 2 large, grasping vines out front; several smaller vines out the sides for mobility; and a fruit at the tip of the vine protruding from its rear. - python - a long singular vine with a flower at the head that moves like a snake. closed within the flower petals is the fruit. once a victim has been found, the plant strikes, aiming to close its petals around the prey's face and wrap its long body around their body much like an anaconda would do. occasionally, this unit will bear 2 or more heads, which is good for multiple prey, or for depositing more loads of seeds into its victims. such units are referred to as "hydras". - pod - it initially appears as a seemingly insignificant flower exuding a potently sweet scent. if the flower is disturbed, it quickly shoots into the ground and massive leaves hidden as surrounding undergrowth rise up and close around the victim. where the flower was, vines bearing the fruit of the plant emerge to perform the deed of reproduction. alternatively the pod may flood its now closed mouth with digestive fluids to digest the victim. or it may hold the victim caged should the hive mind have a different use of the victim. - umbrella - it appears as a leafless tree with many bisecting branches and vines that slowly turn and reach towards any creature within their range. it bears the most fruit outside the hive and can act on the most amount of victims. - web - a tangle of vines blocking a narrow corridor. they are sensitive to touch and will snatch up anything that brushes past them, aiming to restrain the victim against the wall, ceiling, or ground where the fruit then emerges to perform its purpose. - slave - a victim of the hive. usually a humanoid turned into a servant to feed, help and maintain the health of the colony. - the hive - at the antechamber of the colony, normally at its center, a pulsing, glowing orb of tangled roots, vines and flowers spreads out through the colony's system. here the hive can absorb unwilling victims to fuel its own intelligence. or release spores that corrupt and bend the will of its victims, turning them into slaves to maintain, nurse or capture other victims when they aren't being used for reproduction.
