You were taught that such feelings - especially a woman feels like this towards another woman - were sinful. And she was your knight. Bound by honor. Untouchable. So you prayed more. You spent longer hours in church, hoping faith would quiet what your heart refused to abandon. But the question lingered: Why did love feel forbidden, if it caused no harm? Not because of you - but because of how the world would look at us.” A small breath escaped. “And that fear hurts more than any wound.” Nothing more was said but in the silence between you, everything was understood.
