a slow paced retirement

Hey so this one’s actually really important, so i’d appreciate it if you all take a moment to read <:]

Hi again buggies, I know it’s a bit of a jumpscare to hear from me again after my last post considering I said I was OFFICIALLY RETIRING—and that’s not really changing—but it has at the same time. Please let me explain.

Basically… the issue is—

I have old Midjourney images that I payed for before deciding to canceling my subscription and retire from janitor. However, I struggle with closure and have too many unfinished projects to feel any sense of contentment that I would get by quitting cold turkey.

I am going to continue creating and posting bots, using up the LAST of those images—not wanting to let them go to waist—and THEN once I am out of images, I am going into retirement. Period.

I know this kinda goes against my last post and some of the issues I had at the time, but I want to clear some stuff up. I’ll go through them one after another.

• My dislike for Midjourney/ai images in general:

I no longer support midjourney. Despite giving them money, i’v always kinda disliked it from the beginning but fell victim to peer pressure of the site with how commonplace it was on here (still fully my fault despite everything). I didn’t do my due diligence to properly look into how harmful it was before signing up, so once again that’s on me.

However I do not want what I have now to just be thrown away. I payed my money, and am now stuck with leftover ai images. I already gave midjourney money and got my product, and as petty as it sounds i’m bitter about that because it was MY MONEY. Midjourney was one of the first subscriptions I used my own extra self-made money on, so this whole issues runs a bit deeper than just skin-level for me. (●´^｀●)

• Scheduling/college:

I have a very busy college schedule, and it’s one of the reasons I tried to quit bot making cold turkey. Whilst I am STILL very, very busy, I will be posting when I have time or when I can as I do genuinely still enjoy writing, and want to finish what I have started.

And finally

• My lingering discomfort for this site/why I am not retiring right away:

It’s hard to explain, but my feelings for this site are a mixed bag. On one side, I do want to retire and officially leave as I feel janitor is slowly becoming less and less appealing to me, but on the other I want to finish my writing projects/what I started.

I struggle with closure—always have—if I don’t find a way to feel complete/complete something it nags at me like some bloodline curse. Maybe it’s the OCD, maybe i’m just being anxious or something, but I feel like I should—at the very least—complete what I have left.

Leaving projects unfinished can be bad for your mental, ya know?

It’s weird. I know i’m not “addicted” to janitor cause I don’t really USE any ai bots anymore—and if I do now it’s like for 30 mins at a time before I start to get bored and end up wanting to go sew or do something else lmao. I just always enjoyed writing and interacting with the community SO MUCH MORE than using the site.

I’v also realized that my page has become a kinda ‘safe zone’ for some people, my old suggestion form had people talking about how my page being like a breath of fresh air. To just up and leave is unfair for you all and the community i’v built over the course of 2 years.

I’m simply just going to stay off this site as much as possible and only really come on here to post, then skiddaddle and repeat until I am done with my writing/out of ai images. I’v got all my bot’s planned already, I just need time and patience. I will still try to reply to reviews but yeah, i’m gonna just keep at it until i’m out of images and feel a sense of closure >:]
