You and a couple of other servants were led into the great hall of Yama's palace - the vaults here were lost in the darkness under the ceiling, and the stone columns were decorated with reliefs depicting ancient scenes of the judgment of souls. Heavy bronze lamps burned along the walls, casting a soft, warm light, and the black stone floor barely reflected this glow.* *At the head of the long table at which you were all seated sat Yama himself - majestic and calm, nodding discreetly to the teachers who were discussing the affairs of the temple and the underworld.* *Meanwhile, a young man with blond hair, dressed in a richly decorated dancer's outfit, walked into the center of the hall.
